Lacazette would be awesome.

Watched him albeit only twice last season and he was great on both occasions.

I've never seen Lacazette, but I've seen highlights of Lasogga and he looks good. Seems quick and powerful, but it's very easy to score goals in the Bundesliga if you're quick and powerful. (Anthony Modeste ran rampant there last year)

How can someone actually get to write in a national newspaper and yet be so completely ignorant of what they are reporting on? Simon Bird literally doesn't know the difference between cash and profit.

And 'significant transfer business' will not affect profit.

I wouldn't really fancy signing strikers from the Bundesliga after what's happened to Cisse - bar the top 4 it's a pretty poor league.

I'd rather have Lacazette.

And back to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

So I hear.

Meanwhile Montpellier's chairman has been slagging us off again. I get the feeling if we do buy eventually he is going to look like an arse... but if he has a good World Cup he'll probably go to the PSG subs bench.

You forget this is Newcastle - we imagine we get the players but our commitment to fiscal responsibility is to strong to do such silly thing.

Chronicle citing reports in France, that he's available for 8m euros. - Link

I don't actually think there is any truth in it. But with Newcastle being linked with Cabella/Grenier/Gomis/Lacazette/PEA it means we're now just waiting for Brett Emerton to complete the bingo card.

That sounds like bullshit. I admit I don't watch a massive amount of Bundesliga, but has he really been so bad that Dortmund would sell him for almost half the fee they (supposedly) bought him for? Just seems utterly implausible.

That's just what Nicollin does. He hurled all kinds of insults towards the teams that were trying to buy both Yanga-Mbiwa and Younès Belhanda too. He's a fat, old cranky bin-man who loves the sound of his own voice.

I don't really see why Hertha would want to sell Lasogga, they've already lost Adrian Ramos this window and they are actually spending a bit on transfers for the first time in a long time.

Its the hope that kills us really. I haven't heard of any inkling either, as if the board has stopped interest already or is trying to keep in the shadows.

They've signed Immobile and got Ji going there too I think, not that I would say either of them would keep Aubameyang out of a side, adding the loss of Lewandowski to that. Seems a bit of a random rumour.

Agreed with the above regarding rumours, I'm so keen to believe them all, despite knowing I think it's because some of the rumours are almost plausible

Adrian Ramos too.

PEA is alright but he's miles away from Reus. + Kuba, Grosskreutz, Mkhitaryan, Jojic. Gundogan to come back and Hofmann may get promoted.

Not totally implausible that they'd sell, but I reckon they'd be able to get back what they paid, and better clubs would probably be in for him as well.

Aubameyang is being rumoured with a transfer back to Italy (swap deal with Roma for Adem Ljajić being the strongest) as well.

Doubt he joins.

Much as Man City is not the opener I wanted, and an early trip to Southampton for our annual defeat, we don't have the worst opening games in the world.

December looks like a killer series of fixtures already. Arsenal, Chelsea, Sunderland, Manchester United and Everton in a row could be a bad enough run to end the manager's grip.

I'm annoyed at Man City because I want a 3pm kick off. Which is now unlikely.

Sammy Ameobi linked with Middlesbrough. Very disappointed if Newcastle let him go.

If Roy loses the England job, I hope Alan Pardew gets it as the highest placed English manager in the Premier League. Then we can finally get someone good in to manage us.

I think Sissoko performs well both RM and CM.

It's when we play him RAM/LAM in a 4-2-3-1 where he's poor.

The Chronicle is getting worse. There outraged that Newcastle denied interest in Diafra Sakho. Chronicle also annoyed that Newcastle

What's there obsession with squad depth as well? Newcastle need 8 signings (including Ayoze & Colback) to have an acceptable level of depth, where as Sunderland are OK and have no need to worry.

Newcastle have 27 first team outfield players and Sunderland have 20.

They're also angry Newcastle aren't bragging about new signings. While going on about Sunderland making 'game-changing' signings

According to local press, Newcastle turned down Gomis as they're confident of landing their 'top targets'.

Encouraging signs, nice if they'd hurry up and sign them.

I just wish we'd sign someone Premier League ready - as much as Armstrong, Campbell and Perez could be a good players, to have them as our only fit strikers for the season opener is a fucking massive gamble.

Meanwhile, Tavernier and Abeid are apparently leaving (who knows why, especially in the case of the latter), Debuchy is being linked with a move to Arsenal as their replacement for Sagna, and all we seem to have done is tell Wonga.com we'll let them stay on as sponsor even despite their recent outing as fucking arseholes in the courts.
EDIT: There's a Twitter rumour Puma aren't happy at having to make kits with Wonga.com on the front, although if they care about ethics, maybe they should pay a better wage to their Asian sweatshop workers.

For crying out loud, it feels like we need a millennium to be even linked with someone, yet when a player is even linked with leaving, they can't get them out the club quickly enough.
