They should make a bid for Redmond. Premier League experience, young, versatile, probably going cheap thanks to Norwich's relegation, reasonably talented and could do a job in the team right now.

Calm down.

Debuchy hasn't been sold yet. No one has.

Considering he has said in interviews he feels inhibited by Pardew's tactics, wants to play in the Champions League and his bezzie mate joined PSG, what reason does MD have to stay?

I would like him among others. I would've preferred Snodgrass but he's reportedly signing a deal with Hull, so that's probably out.

His 4 year contract is a pretty good reason.

Didn't Andy Carroll sign a 5 year contract 3 months before leaving, and more recently, didn't Luke Shaw sign a 5 year deal with Southampton a few months back?

Newcastle didn't have to sell, but I'm guessing they saw the £35m bid as too big to turn down, which in truth it was.

He plays for Newcastle, he can whinge all he wants, but unless a club meets Newcastle's asking price, he'll stay. And he wanted to leave CL football for Newcastle 2 years ago...

Very surprised if they're is much interest in him tbh, he's no where near good enough for a top team.

Is he not?

I can't give a fair judgement on any of our players anymore, the vast majority seem inhibited by Pardew's terrible management.

I hate the state of our club at the moment. The only reason that wormy parasite is still our manager is because he's Mike Ashley's puppet who will do whatever he says because he knows deep down he's never going to get a better job than this.

Fuck Newcastle. Pile of shit.

No. He's not very good at defending. Sagna is a much better RB. Debuchy is barely better than Simpson.

Tavernier signed for Wigan. Out of curiosity, why do we at least appear so incapable of bringing academy lads into the first team squad?

Probably because it's quite hard.

Shola is wrong about Debuchy - he's excellent going forward and very sound defensively - just watch him for France.

I can see him leaving for a top team soon, too - we'll sell if a bid of 10m or upwards comes in imo. He's unsettled after the sale of his best mate and doesn't like being told to play in a negative manner by Pardew. No wonder we can't attack properly if he won't let our full backs overlap in a 4-4-2 Especially when we have two very good attacking full backs in Santon and Debuchy.

I can also see us starting the season with Cisse, Perez and Armstrong as our strikeforce such is the ineptitude of our board.

I watched the highlights and Debuchy gave away at least two clear cut chances against Switzerland.

Once by being well behind the rest of the defence, and once by not marking his man and tucking in from a cross. Debuchy is a good player, but he's always liable to give away a goal by either coming too far inside and giving his winger far too much space, or by charging recklessly up the field, and vacating the space.

He's good going forward, but not that good.

Surprised they don't recommend Neymar and Lionel Messi. Take it from me, the pair of them have big careers ahead of them.

Okay, Debuchy isn't world class. But he's very very good.

He should do well at Arsenal because they have a competent manager who can accommodate attacking full backs without leaving space for the opposing team to counter attack. We don't.

If Debuchy and M'Biwa both leave that leaves us needing:

1 x CB
1 x RB
1 x RM
1 x CM
2 x ST

Can't see that happening.

Interesting to see this stat going round saying Sissoko created 14 more chances then Adam Lallana last season, and Lallana just moved for a fuckload of cash. This will either mean Pardew might be coerced into doing something useful with the rest of his game rather than lumping him out wide, or Ashley gets his way and sells him.

We clearly need new players, but its depressing the bigger number of rumours almost always seems to be with outgoings.

If Sissoko is creating chances from out wide, then he's not being 'lumped out wide' he's thriving out wide. If 'chances created' is the same as 'key passes' then it's a bollocks stat imo.

Sissoko hasn't even been linked with a move.

The transfer will be tonight or tomorrow officially announced by the English club in the Premier League. De Jong signed a five-year commitment. At Ajax he had an ongoing contract until 2015.
His brother Luuk de Jong came last season even though half a year on loan from Newcaslte for United, but was eventually bought out by the British.

Least it's a start.

I've seen a thing saying Fulham are willing to spend £10million on McCormack, which makes it a bit irritating that we're now being outbid by Championship sides.

Newcastle are almost certainly not interested in Ross McCormack. He's 27 and hit double figures for goals 3 times in his career, playing in the SPL, League 1 and the Championship. No way Newcastle are going to spend £10m on him. Reckon it's all hype from the Leeds owner, they seem to be in quiet meltdown right now, reckon he'll go to Fulham or Norwich or somewhere for about £4m.

Anyway no fucking around here.

Blimey they wrapped that one up quickly.

I'm guessing he's the YC replacement. Could be good though - certainly has the potential pedigree for that role. I guess now what we need are the new strikers.

I hope this doesn't mean a "Get one de Jong, get the other one free or at a low price" deal.

I still think McCormack might work if Leeds now offload him in on the cheap due to his transfer request, but at 27, he's probably too old for the board to spend more than £5m if that on him. What other strikers have we been linked with recently?

Lacazette and Lasogga are apparently the main targets. Ings is doing the rounds on twitter, but I don't think there is much in that. And Luuk de Jong keeps getting mentions in the Chronicle.

I reckon if LdJ is available at the end of the window for under £3m or on loan, Newcastle will go sign him.

Very pleased with De Jong and £3/4m is ridiculous value. I retweeted this earlier which kind of sums up what we're saying above:

Danny Ings reportedly set to choose between us and Southampton

Luuk De Jong apparently off to PSV which is good news for us - would be severely dissapointed if we signed him after the garbage he served up last year.

I'd love Lacazette.

Was de Jong seriously as cheap as £3m?

I know Newcastle don't spend as often as the fans would like them too but when they do dip their hands into the market they seem to pull some real bargains out of the bag.

(When I say reportedly I mean "twitter says" )

Why would Burnley want to sell Ings?

Seems like a crazy decision on the verge of their first season back in the Premier League. If he chooses them, Southampton might be quids in - Ings and Rodriguez has the hallmarks of a decent pairing.

Oh thank fuck for that.

Lassoga I think is joining HSV, but Lacazette and some other French striker whose name I can't remember have been linked with us for most of the window. AL has a decent record though.

Italian media are claiming Sissoko is a target for Napoli - almost with efficiency after I mused a decent World Cup for him might make him some other club's target. Then again, Italian media has a poor track record with this shit so I'm think it can be ignored for now.

I wouldn't rule out Lasogga until he signs for Hamburg. Something a bit odd about that deal. And according to the Chronicle today, someone told them that Newcastle still have a 30% chance of 'winning' Lasogga.

Diafra Sakho? Newcastle apparently rang up SkySportsNews to deny that one. They've also denied a few more like Bendtner and Sidwell.

EDIT - Maxime Gonalons is'confirmed' to be staying at Lyon next year. Potentially good news in regards to Grenier/Lacazette.

How good is Debuchy defensively?

I'm quite content with the idea of signing him but there are some concerns over his ability to defend properly.
