Are you seriously thinking that signing two World Class players in a year and not selling them anymore isn't changing anything?

Well you could hardly sell World Class players when you didn't have any left to sell

The difference is that we bought the likes of Nasri, van Persie etc when they were young, built them up, and sold them. We had to.

Now we're bringing in ready made elite players who have a chance to get even better, with the youngsters we bought at a young age (Ramsey, Koscielny to an extent even though he was 25 when we got him, Theo) who are nearly at an elite level.

If you can't spot the progress and change then I'm sorry but you're a fucking retard. No offence.

Sanchez isn't world class, he's a quality player but not world class. And after Ozil's form last season, I'd hardly think people consider him 'world class'. He's fantastic on his day but he's too inconsistent, and also lazy. Teams shouldn't carry players just for them to perform a bit of magic every now and again.

But anyways, I really hope we sign a couple of defenders soon. Ideally I'd like to see us sign a whole new back-line, but for now 2 CB's will now. Would love to offload Johnson as well but that probably won't happen.

Sky sports reporting that the Suarez fee was €64.3 million. Bummer.

Youre still not adressing issues with your squad that have made you fail in the years before, so yeah kind of.

Also I really like Ozil and think hes a good player, but he was no where near as good last year as Arsenal fans make out. Started good but faded badly.

It's very much a work in progress. News on our side is to expect even more activity, namely a defensive midfielder. Our defense is solid (Debuchy coming in at RB) it was just finding the perfect player to partner Ramsey to play deep beside him. Rumours going about with Khedira but I don't think he's what we should be aiming for, we already have two other box-to-box midfielders in Jack & Aaron, I don't see why we'd need a third.

Özil faded as a result of two things:

1) Being overplayed & resulting in injury
2) Lack of runners and pace in the team as soon as Theo & Ramsey got injured

Giroud, Cazorla and Podolski aren't exactly the type of players you want to surround Mesut on the attack, no pace whatsoever. Also a reason why we were terrible in big matches, since we had no pace teams could easily push up their defensive line without any threat of pace to go beyond them.

And you'll be silly to write Özil off as not world class after one season Sears, he's in the top 3 playmakers in the World on pure ability. He just dipped when the whole team dipped as a result of injury. He cannot be blamed for that, only the staff can.

Arsenal's biggest problem is their fans insistence on calling the players by their first names. Arsenal's second problem is the selfies. Third is the smugness of the club.

Yes I'm aware of the 'irony' - but Shola is one of them players like Jonas, James, Yaya, Marcelo, Ki or Ji, where it is acceptable.

Not as much as the hugely increased financial power we can enjoy from this season onwards. The FA Cup win is huge even if you want to downplay it, but the signing of two world-class players in the space of twelve months is more significant. The fact that Sanchez wanted to join us ahead of Liverpool goes against this rhetoric that Liverpool are back in the big time. Spurs spent one season in the Champions League after years in the dark and failed to build on it. Given that the player that dragged you to second place is now gone and that top class players aren't as keen to come to Liverpool as the fans would have you think you'll most likely be playing on Thursday nights again from the following season.

Why are people continuously comparing us to Spurs, we still have the the 2nd top scorer in the league regardless of weather we have Suarez. Also we were hardly dragged to second place, have a word with yourself

Realistically how many goals will Sturridge score without Suarez there a) assisting him b) dragging defenders away from him

Fairly sure Sturridge's goalscoring record was better when Suarez wasn't playing, will try find the stats now.

People are forgetting Suarez missed the first 6 games and Sturridge was scoring more without him.

You've a point, but it's hard to say if your title challenge would have lasted so long without Suarez.

In every post you've in some way had a pop at Arsenal for whatever reason (which i really don't mind/care/whatever), but then end it all by basically saying we're a far more attractive club to play for than Liverpool?

How did you get that out what I said? My pops at Arsenal were definetly tongue in cheek.

What I meant is if you see a player like Sanchez, chosing you over us, seeing theres probably a thousdand different reasons, rather than you being a better club.

Also TS no Liverpool fan claimed were some mighty club or even better than you, which you seem to point out a lot.

I've seen absolutely loads of Liverpool fans express their bemusement at the idea that a player would want to come to Arsenal ahead of Liverpool. You yourself said you don't know why a player would choose us over you. It's been hilarious seeing tons of Liverpool fans say that the only reason he'd want to play for us is because he girlfriend would prefer London after tons of them were adamant that once Sanchez heard Rodgers' "vision" for the club he'd immediately sign for Liverpool.

Debatable but we're making significant strides to becoming one of the best in the world again. Ozil bought into that, now Sanchez has. I certainly feel we're in a better position than Liverpool are.

As I said, most of my comment werent fully serious. Arsenal were the frontrunners to sign Sanchez, you were the first to declere interest, put in a bid etc. Was we actually going after him or was it just media putting Suarez together and making speculation. Mind you if we werent going after him then we messed that up. The way Arsenal fans are claiming it a coup is as if you hijacked one of our deals, when Im pretty sure thats not the case.

Not like this whole discussion really matters, Im not sure why were arguing over one player. Well have to see what next season brings
