As I said, most of my comment werent fully serious. Arsenal were the frontrunners to sign Sanchez, you were the first to declere interest, put in a bid etc. Was we actually going after him or was it just media putting Suarez together and making speculation. Mind you if we werent going after him then we messed that up. The way Arsenal fans are claiming it a coup is as if you hijacked one of our deals, when Im pretty sure thats not the case.

Not like this whole discussion really matters, Im not sure why were arguing over one player. Well have to see what next season brings

Numerous sources - including plenty of reliable ones - claimed you were interested him so you're in denial if you claim you never wanted him. He chose Arsenal and wasn't interested in Liverpool. Call it what you want but we signed a player you wanted and he's better than anyone else you can realistically sign this window.

Fairly sure Sturridge's goalscoring record was better when Suarez wasn't playing, will try find the stats now.

Yep. Fergie was pretty much spot on when he said Liverpool should have sold him.

Guilty of racial abuse, guilty of biting a player three times, spent last summer saying he wanted to leave to play Champions League football, signs a 5 year contract, get Champions League football and then leaves. Yet he's well loved. He's treated Liverpool like shit and repeatedly toyed with the fans.

Funny how a club who shouldn't be allowed to buy players have bought a player who's banned from football. Love it.

Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal with Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria, Goal understands.

The Argentina international is keen to work under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and an agreement in principle over personal terms has been reached between United and the player.

But Madrid value Di Maria at £45 million, while United had initially hoped to secure the forward for a fee in the region of £30m.

Talks are set to resume next week with both Madrid and United confident that an agreement can be reached over a suitable transfer fee.

They're more believable than the Metro, who lied about their report this week that said he was coming and today have said he's not joining after all. Pathetic.

Well according to Lawrenson, Liverpool did well to get rid of him. Does he not realise the player himself wanted to leave and Liverpool have openly came out and said they did all they could to keep him, not the other way around.

A question was asked about how many goals he'll score without Suarez and i answered it with stats, also 9 games isn't really a few is it. Its fair to say Sturridge will still score plenty of goals weather we have Suarez or not.

Manchester United are continuing to monitor Angel Di Maria’s situation at Real Madrid. The Argentina winger is on the Barclays Premier League club’s radar although there has been no contact with Real or the player.

Reports emerged today that United had bid for Di Maria and agreed personal terms with the 26-year-old but they are only maintaining a watching brief at this stage.

Di Maria - who excelled in Real’s Champions League triumph over Atletico Madrid, their cross city rivals, and has played an important role in Argentina’s progress to the World Cup final - is valued at about £45 million and contracted to the Spanish giants until June 2018.

United have already spent £56.8 million on Luke Shaw, the England left back, and Ander Herrera, the Spanish midfielder, this summer, although Louis van Gaal, the club’s new manager, remains in the market for another midfielder, a centre-half and a versatile winger-cum-forward in the Di Maria mould.

With Patrice Evra also moving closer to joining Juventus, United are also expected to sign another left back as cover for Shaw. Ricardo Rodriguez, of Wolfsburg, is one option.

Arturo Vidal, the Juventus midfielder, continues to be heavily linked with United, who are monitoring developments surrounding the Chilean.

Would love us to get Di Maria, but 45mill sounds a tad high, though given our situation I guess inflated fees are to be expected. Would also love for us to go for Vidal aswell if that rumour has any substance to it.

Seems Bayern have replaced City as his destination.

Rough on Roma that, if he'd change his mind and decide to stay I think they'd have a serious shot at the title, especially if Juve sell Vidal.
