Roy Keane has turned into a bit of a rent a gob recently.

Bit like Scholes

As a former Sunderland boss and someone who once hid behind David Beckham to get away from Shearer, I would've been surprised if he'd written something nice about us. Personally I'm more surprised by a quote from the book saying "Clive Clarke's heart attack made me glad as it distracted from Sunderland being knocked out by Luton".

Ehhhhh I think you're wrong there.

I used love them old battles. Never see them anymore really. Us v Arsenal during them years were class. Keane v Shearer, Keane v Veira.

Eh, maybe.

Though as last poster said, Keane v Viera was a classic animosity. It all feels a bit less in your face with aggression now, although with some players, its not for the want of trying.
@savepardew is brilliant

I'm bewildered by it - is it a troll or do they actually believe what they're writing?

Definite troll.

But more to the point it highlights the sort of nonsense stats often used against Pardew, can be used for Pardew. Hence they are absolutely nonsense stats.

Andy Carroll has been linked with a move back to SJP. Doubt it tbh.

Probably doesn't get into West Ham's side as first choice anymore. Definitely gets in to yours. Not the most unbelievable rumour I've heard.

We were linked to Bafetembi Gomis the other day.

I prefer that one,

Krul out of Leicester game. Rob Elliott (one clean sheet in 11 league games for NUFC) will play vs the Foxes.

Oh wonderful.

Ah yes, that was the one! Both play in red so I was close. Wonder if they wished they'd had him this summer?

I certainly wish we didn't loan out Lascelles - Coloccini and Williamson have no real competition, yet both have been fucking shite.

I'm a little confident for the weekend

Sky reporting former MD Derek Llambias could be made a new boardroom member of Rangers after his loan was approved.

Anyone else finding it irritating we're being used as a caveat in the boardroom politics north of the border?

Don't see it how it has much to do with Newcastle? Rather not have Llambias at Newcastle anyway.

“The big difference between me and Alan of course is the size of the respective clubs we manage.

“Newcastle is a huge one-team town with so much passion – as much as any club in the country and abroad for that matter. The fans are wrapped up in their team, and while that can be a huge asset if channelled correctly, I think they have been unfair on both Alan and Ashley.

“The club gets around 50,000 at SJP every game and I guess 49,000 will probably disagree with me over Ashley.

“But here’s a chairman who cares a lot about his club. He goes every week, unlike some. I saw him in the directors’ box at Stoke a few weeks ago looking glum after the 1-0 defeat.”

Do you think Harry wants the Newcastle job?

Ashley doesn't go every week? He pretty much stopped for a while up until this recent debacle.

Good result and performance (2nd half anyways) yesterday, seems to be a canny team spirit going which to me indicates that the players are still with Pardew. Sammy's goal was quality and the speed of it was immense! Sissoko was quality all game too

Aye Sissoko was playing centre midfield second half when he was bossing it wasn't he?

Amazing how players perform when played in their correct position.

We'll have Sissoko on the right, Gouffran/Obertan on the left against Liverpool though

Cabella and Perez look genuinely dangerous when they're played together, I hope they start.

Alan Pardew: Management is like assembling Ikea furniture

Another superb 3pts for #NUFC. Our campaign has inspired change - putting Pardew under pressure for the first time has led to new ideas 1/2

Sack Pardew @SackPardew · 56m 56 minutes ago
new players and, ultimately, new confidence. Long may it continue 2/2

Fucking hell. @SackPardew taking credit for the wins. Absolute shitehawks. Fair to say it hasn't gone down well. Think they're desperate for the attention, as people are fucking sick of them.

Anyway on Wednesday they were still demanding an apology for when Liverpool beat us 6-0 at SJP. Pardew's record against Liverpool at SJP is now 3W, 1D and 1L.

A very successful flat-pack orange, as it turns out right now. Or whatever he is on about... I dunno. Good win though.

Great news that Jonas has been discharged from hospital and been given an all-clear. Apparently he could be back training with the first team within a month, which would be very nice to see.

In slightly disappointing news, Obertan could be out until March. Shame. He was coming into form too.

So, apparently, we're going to be giving Jak Alnwick his Premier League debut tonight, and be playing our only 3 fit defenders alongside a debutant.

I thought the hiring of a new fitness coach was meant to control our injury problem.
