Madrid apparently going to announce this evening the departure of Ancelotti. Not surprising, but still an idiotic decision.

He is more suited there.

Ancelotti sacked, about to be officially confirmed via a press conference.

Surely Madrid would like to employ the Premier League's best coach?

I think that says more about La Liga than him.

To win it you're generally looking at 80%+ whereas the EPL is about 60-70%. So 75% in La Liga is probably comparable to 60-65% in the EPL, which is what City have this year and Pellegrini looks like he'll be sacked.

Not sure if its just La Liga, but its still more than most of their managers in their last however many years. More than Mourinho

He was complete shite against the teams he was competing against, which is where the real challenge is in La Liga

Yeah, as much as people try to say otherwise, the only thing that counts in La Liga is the top 6 or so, even then probably 3-4. The rest is utter shite. One for their quality and two for the fact they expect to lose against the top 2 so treat it as such, compared to the bottom few in the EPL who treat games against the top sides as cup finals.

2 points of top and a CL semi final, and they class it as struggling. Madrid couldn't get past quarters a few years ago

I don't think that even makes sense!

I've seen he wants a move to a club in the CL though, which rules Liverpool out as well as Spurs (if they still want him).

The summer clearout is underway at QPR. Ferdinand, Barton, Wright-Phillips, Zamora & Dunne are being released.

Also Adam Federici is off to Bournemouth with Boruc who is now there permanently.

The thing is they can afford to do this because there's basically no risk.

Assuming Benitez is a hopeless failure the absolute worse that will happen is Real Madrid finish 3rd in the league (and even then Atletico were 14 points back this season so they'd have to be really bad) and make it to the knock outs/quarters of the Champions League.

There's no risk to the scattergun approach for them.

Gut feeling is Real will sack Benitez after about 10 games.

And arguably there could be risk with Valencia potentially challenging next year, and Sevilla are a good side. Almost definitely not though.

We've just signed Kevin Wimmer from Cologne, apparently its only for about £4.3m. Probably going to mean Kaboul and/or Chiriches leaving which is good.

Atsu has also gone and joined them on loan for the season too. Hopefully more fruitful than his Everton loan.

Bournemouth look like they're making signings that'll make them a bit more exciting than the regular cannon fodder for the top sides that usually get promoted.
