This tactic is created off a tactic made by Gerbtheking. I have made adjustments to better it in my eyes. The 3 versions created all offer slightly different things with the Hyper Aggressive version being the most different.
The main idea of this tactic is to create diamonds in the wide areas of the pitch with off-the-ball movement. The diamond on the left is created by the Libero (Base), Wingback (Left) Advanced Playmaker (Right), and Target Forward (Top). One of the right sides is created by Wide Center Back (Right) Ball Winning Midfielder (Base), Wide Playmaker (left), and Shadow Striker (Top). The Ball Playing Defender and Advanced Forward sit in the middle of the pitch and help facilitate the transfer of possession between the 2 diamonds.
In buildup, the team looks to play directly by the GK giving the ball to the BPD before they are given the license to pass the ball long into any of the players in front of them or even play more directly by going into the TF or out wide to the WP. This allows the team to bypass a press and create a micro transition since the opposition will step to them.
From there the team looks to get into the attacking third where the shape changes into a 3-2-5. The team will have both the WCB and WB out wide with the 3 central attacking players in the box for crossing options while the 2 playmakers sit on the edge of the box and the BWM, Libero, and BPD all sitting back and covering for the attacking players.
This is where all 3 starts to change up slightly. The Direct version and Basic version only change slightly in terms of the depth of the line with the direct style having a slightly deeper line and using this to pull the press further onto them. Still, they also look to be more aggressive when it comes to making tackles with most players have the instruction of Tackle Harder on them.
While the Hyper Aggressive style changes things quite drastically in defense. With this version, we look to defend by bringing it to the opposition by going full-on press. The TF and SS lead the press with hyper-aggressiveness while the AF looks to cover up the 6 or GK. The WB and WP look to pick up runs from deeper midfielders or wingers and the 2 middle players look to be aggressive tacklers. Finally, the 2 wide CBs look very aggressive in their press stepping to wingers almost right away and closing down the attackers before they have time to step and turn and do anything. The central CB will cover and central strikers or 10s will look to make late runs into the box.
