I've marked the source image as pending again - if you notice any errors in the megapack or images uploaded to a wrong person's profile, be sure to tag @mons so he sees the comment and doesn't add the image by mistake.
fyi mons, Dirk Tintrup doesn't seem to be in the database, so that cutout is one for the no UID folder

@mons First cutout seemed a bit too pink even after colour adjustment, is the second attempt better?

Agreed, but I think that in some cases it could still be useful.

For FM22, SI changed how the cutout images included in the game work. Instead of being transparent .png files, they're now compressed .jpg files on a black background, with an extra black and white .png file with “[mask]” in the filename, which is used by the game to create transparency. This means that the player face images take up less space, but it means that it takes an extra step to make them transparent if you want to use them in the megapack. One other thing to keep in mind is that, because they're compressed .jpg images, they suffer from Compression Artifacts so the image quality will usually be worse compared to the .png player images from previous FM games, and the player images in the Cutout Megapack.
To make them transparent, first open the mask image in an image editor program - I use Photoshop but I believe Paint.NET, GIMP or Photopea should work as free alternatives. Press Ctrl+A to select the whole image and press Ctrl+C to copy it. Then, open the player face image, and click the button here in the Layers panel to add a Layer Mask.
Next, go to the tab named “Channels” next to the Layers panel.
Now in the Channels menu, there's a hidden layer, in Photoshop called "Layer 0 Mask" in this case. Click the button here to enable the layer.
And then with that layer selected, press Ctrl+V to paste the mask image into the layer mask. Now you have an image with transparency! Then just go back to the Layers tab and click on the thumbnail for the player image, and press Ctrl+D to deselect the selection.
From there, you can do any of the normal image adjustments you make before completing a cutout - such as removing leftover snow (dark or light edges on the cutout, particularly around the hair), changing the brightness/contrast, or tweaking the colour balance.
Here's the resulting cutout player image - on the left is without any adjustments, and on the right is with brightness/contrast adjusted, and the green hue removed from the image using mons' Image Adjustments Action file for Photoshop. If I was submitting this image to the Cutout Megapack, I'd also tweak it more to remove snow/dark edges from the image, but I won't get into that as it's covered in other tutorials.

@Cato Ingebrigtsen This isn't a bad cutout, but like @mons has mentioned before, you should crop the cutout to just below the player's chin instead of leaving such a large space, especially when there is a good enough source available. Try again with the source I linked, I think it's a bit bigger than the one you used.

@Cristiano Suiiii This is the same source as the previous rejected one but zoomed in, so it's blurry.

In this case, @CXBXRPXTX's cutout does have the shoulders cut correctly, but it looks like the kit the person is wearing is black in the middle and white on the sides like Ajax's kit, so the shoulder edges just don't show up well on a light background 😛

Do you know who the player in the cutout image is? Can you provide a source image of the correct player?

@devjikker If you're uploading a lot of sources at once, it's better to upload them altogether as a pack instead of individually. This video shows you how to do that. You just have to make sure the images are saved as the player's UID so the system knows which image belongs to which player.

@gzczc If you remove this part from the end of the URL, you can get a larger image size, which will make for a better quality cutout:

If you're requesting multiple images in a short amount of time you can upload them as a pack instead of individually, as shown in this video:

@Footygamer Was removing clicking an image in a post/comment to open it in the “gallery view" intentional? (e.g. one of the images in the comments on this timeline) You can still view cutouts in the gallery view in the same way so just wondering, although I think the fade transition for the black background takes a bit too long

You can, but you'd manually search each player's entry in the megapack config.xml file by their UID and delete them from the config, then reload the skin in FM to refresh the cache; if you have the full megapack downloaded that might take a while.

If the player is in the FM database, you can request a source image to be cut here: https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/submissions/1
If they aren't in the database and you just want to add a custom created player to your game, you can use remove.bg to cut it yourself 🙂
#660063 Oli Coker

@MisterStubbs Make sure you're linking directly to the image (e.g. a URL that ends in .jpg or .png) when making a request from an image URL, if you're just linking to a web page it won't work.

Opening the image in a new tab (at least using Google Chrome, it might be different for other browsers) redirects to a page on the photobucket website where there's no watermark, then I downloaded the image from there.
#660061 Jearl Margaritha
weeniehutjr
This cutout wouldn't be an improvement in any case, there's snow around the hair that needs to be removed. Did you use remove.bg to cut the source image?
#660046 Gary Howlett
weeniehutjr
Definitely 👍
Although one other thing I should have mentioned is that when the person's head is tilted to one side like in this source, it's better to rotate it slightly so that the face os upright/eyes are roughly in line (and ears, etc). This video shows what I mean. I've done it for this cutout, so just something to keep in mind for the future 🙂
#660039 Gary Howlett
weeniehutjr
@demonade This isn't a bad cutout, but when a high quality source image like this one is easily found, it would be a waste not to cut it at 250*250px instead of 180px.
One other thing to note is that you've left a lot of empty space above the head in your cutout - you should crop the image closer so that there's only 2-3 pixels from the top of the canvas to the top of the head.

I've uploaded a larger version of the correct source tvcapper posted above, although the thumbnail image is broken
#660029 Zakaria El Ouahdi
weeniehutjr
I've moved it to the correct timeline 👍
However, black and white images aren't ideal as they have to be recoloured, can you find a colour image of the correct player?
#660025 Alexis Mac Allister
weeniehutjr
@dazzybeat The face in this image would have to be upscaled to fit the 250*250px cutout dimensions, which would result in worse image quality, and the hands would have to be photoshopped out of the image anyway, which would take a fair bit of time. Considering the current megapack cutout looks very similar and is of good quality, it's not worth cutting either of the sources you posted.

@Joãp If you're uploading a lot of cutouts at once, it's easier for you and for @mons if you upload them as a pack instead of each one individually. The below video shows how to upload packs. Just make sure you the name of each cutout image is the person's UID, so the system assigns them to the correct page properly.
