@mons to be fair, it looks like @mimi872012 did find the full-size image I linked above from their google search, but for some reason google images only showed a preview image instead of the full-size (perhaps the Amiens website blocks hotlinking), and they saved the preview image without realising.

The source images from the Juve website also have quite a bit of snow in the background (parts of the background that weren't properly removed), so just cropping and resizing them isn't enough to be improvements over the current cutouts. @mons

@E.B.S. This would be a case where enlargening the image would be appropriate (as long as a better, similarly recent source image can't be found - I quickly searched but couldn't find one), because the face should fill most of the 250px canvas size, with less of the neck being shown. I enlarged the image, as well as rotating it and moving the collar upwards - try making a cutout from it

Remember that all cutouts should include part of the collar. You can follow this guide to easily move the collar up in cases where the neck is too long to include it. You could probably also crop the cutout a couple of pixels closer to the chin

Both will provide a better cut-out than the one from the original source, though I would probably prefer the latter seeing as it's more recent...

Well done, @weeniehutjr ! Is there a tutorial you can share for colorizing b/w photos?

Just a lot of trial and error! I started with a base of using an AI image colorizer like this site (here's the result I got from that), then used adjustment layers in Photoshop to increase the vibrance/saturation and darken the image, and layer masks to remove the skin-tone colours from the teeth and eyes. Then I painted over the image on a new layer with skin-tone colours (blend mode set to Color) to make the skin colours look more realistic and less red/pink as well as paint the lips more pink, and finally a Hue/Saturation adjustment to make the shirt blue instead of skin-coloured. This YouTube video might be useful if you're interested in learning more about colorizing black and white photos!

One other thing to point out is that in a source like this, it's ideal to rotate it a couple of degrees so that the face is upright rather than at an angle - see this comment for an example of what I mean

Given the poor source image, it'd be difficult to get a much better cut than that. A bit of clone stamping needed on the left of the beard perhaps?

Enlarged the source image since it wasn't great quality, should be enough for a 250px cutout (@Parker26)

@ydkb_ For source images from EFL club's, see this guide - you can get larger image sizes like below, you just have to combine two images in an image editor like Photoshop.

@ydkb_ A few things to note: First, cutouts should be sized 250*250px (like the player's current cutout), or 180*180px if the source image isn't good enough quality for a 250px cutout.

Secondly, there's a better way to get a good quality cutout than the technique you're using (Photoshop Refine Edge?) which is still leaving stray bits of the background - try giving remove.bg a try. There's a guide on the best practice in this thread
