Everton have signed Deulofeu on a permanent for six million Euros. Looked good back in 2013-14 so if that form is retained he could be a very good signing.

Rumour mill today is indicating Nathaniel Clyne is close to rubber-stamping a £12.5M move to Liverpool. Presumably cheaper thanks to the loyalty card discount Rodgers seems to enjoy there.

Valencia coach Ian Cahtro is reportedly close to becoming the new assistant manager.

Presumably with that question answered, it might be worth answering the players question. And preferably with ins, rather than selling Remy Cabella, as has been rumoured today.

Pre-season starts next week and we still have our decrepit playing squad, plus only 3 first team coaches.

Would anyone else get so close to a new campaign with such little numbers?

Hard to define, but a squad that's low on both quantity and quality isn't looking like a good standard for it right now. The fact we only beat a relegated side, a side that finished below us and a disinterested collection of individuals from January to May was sending alarm bells, and as much as overhauling the coaching staff might help, new players in a lot of positions are required.

Although for the matter so are coaches, given right now it seems to just be McClaren, Dave Watson, Andy Woodman and Peter Beardsley in that capacity for the first team.

Ryan Taylor is apparently in talks to join Standard Liege.

Maybe that is more his level.

But we're Yeovil, we lose almost every single game going every single year!

So its basically a "least shit team goes through" kinda deal.

Bournemouth have been linked with Steven Caulker.

Bit fate-tempting given he has had two demotions in as many seasons.

How awkward must that be though, one of them was Pearson's son. Basically sacked by your own dad for being in a racist orgy.

Indeed. Christmas dinner at the Pearson's is gonna be interesting.

Leicester have sacked the three players who were filmed in the racist orgy.

Surprised its taken them this long to reach such a conclusion.

Yeah that black kit was a lovely looking strip. Better than the neon green third kit the following campaign.

Tough opening month for Newcastle - games against Manchester United and Arsenal.

We got one point from the equivalents of our opening four last season, and that was down to Papiss Cisse scoring two at Swansea.

I don't think we've got a great opening two months, but hopefully we won't be kept waiting two months for a win this campaign.

Aye that was lovely.

Of the kits I bought, I always liked our blue/black striped kit from 2004/05, and the red/blue number from 2006/07. Oddly, I also liked the infamous yellow kit in the Championship.

Your game vs us is Chris Morgans testimonial, he retired in 2011 iirc. He should play in it.

He's donating any money generated to three charities, two of them are Sheffield charities but he's also giving money to gary Speeds charity.

Yes. Indeed it is. I saw it mentioned that there maybe a link through former NUFC man John Carver, who was on the SUFC coaching staff when Chris Morgan moved from playing to management.

But that sounds like it should raise money for some good causes. Hopefully its a good match.

Can do that with a simple calendar young Number One.

True. It was January 3rd on this year, right?

Madness how the fixtures are out tomorrow.

We'll be able to find out when Sunderland are going to sack Dick Advocaat as well.

We'll also be able to work out when in January Moussa Sissoko will give up.

Are/were you drunk?

Anyway we play Newcastle in Chris Morgans testimonial. Should be a good one, hopefully i'll bag one for Poe.

Pointed out by nufc.com that the last time we were at Bramall Lane (November 2009!), Morgan's own goal was the only goal of the game. Is he still playing?

NUFC's list...
July 10th - Gateshead (a)
July 14th - Club Atlas (neutral venue of Milwaukee)
July 18th - Sacramento Republic (a)
July 21st - Portland Timbers 2 (a)
July 26th - Sheffield United (a)
July 29th - York City (a)
August 1st - Borussia Monchengladbach (h)

Might try for Sheffield. As for the US games, its a bit much that NUFC's players complained the last US tour in 2011 (which went Kansas->Orlando->Ohio) required too much travel, and the team has duly booked a tour that is over 1,000 miles longer.

Also worth noting that Sunderland are in the US at the same time as NUFC, and are playing Doncaster on the same day as the York game. Which could make for some interesting meet-ups.

Chelsea have announced they may play 2/3 seasons away from Stamford Bridge while its expanded to 60,000, although plans are in consultation.

Would've thought the area around Stamford Bridge was too highly dense to make expansion work.

I reckon it'll be closer than last season, but Chelsea will still win the league.

As for the bottom, I honestly have no idea. People will be ready to say Bournemouth but there's no reason to say they won't give it a good fight. I think Watford will do the best of the three promoted sides. Also think Sunderland will struggle but will survive by beating us. Again.

I'd be impressed enough by signing Austin, nevermind both. Would be awesome but doubt it happens. And we'd still have Coloccini and Williamson in central fucking defence.
