That is amazingly early in the season for such a move.

Get one now and then the other in the Christmas/post-season sales?
Yes - historically, it is of significance. Colour wise, its a bit of a bizarre clash.
Tbf there's now young Mags who would be surprised Andy Cole once played for Newcastle. But I know he was sold by Arsenal to Bristol City, and then became one of Newcastle's first million pound plus signings.

Given Pearce is annoyed at the Darlow and Lascelles joint deal, I can't imagine he's impressed by this one either.

Fair enough. Plus there's Joel Campbell too.
What do you think Arsenal would need for there to be a title challenge?
I thought that was a loan. So are Man City ignoring the homegrown quota?

Darlow and Lascelles could be good future signings.

I heard that even though Ferreyra signed on loan, we still want another striker. Not sure if Connor is really the desired target...

I think the problems for Villa is now malaise, given that the owner doesn't want to be there and the fans at Villa largely seem to want a better manager, who equally doesn't seem to pick winners from it. Squad wise, they should be better than 15th, but its a dicey situation for them, and its not hard to at least foresee more difficulties.

I got a top 4 of Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool with West Brom, Burnley and West Ham going down.

Apparently for Newcastle we've been linked with a double bid for Grenier and Lacazette. Might work. Though as much as it would be nice to have him back for his goals, I doubt Remy wants to return to Tyneside.

At some point, Southampton really do have to start buying players.

But yes - Chambers leaving leaves them with just him and Clyne, so at least one is still required.

I do enjoy picking on QPR but a striker of repute (they're not going to keep Remy) and they will probably be fine. The claret and blue triple I mentioned in the pre-season thread could be possible, and certainly WBA will be in the mix. Palace and Sunderland probably will be as well unless they can reproduce the potent streak from the end of last season.

There's already some thinking relegation could be a claret + blue triple of WH, Villa and Burnley.

I was asleep so missed it but from what I gather, BT Sport cut the last the 10 minutes of the game and the post-match trophy presentation. Given they show shit all else apart from football, seems like a stupid arrangement.

I don't know how welcome he'll be up in NYC - he was among the Chelsea players that drunkenly mocked American tourists stranded in London in the aftermath of 9/11, and the New York Daily News article on it was followed by lots of angry comments.
