My point was more that it takes £100's of millions to take a mid-table club to the 'next level' without any sort of guarantee of ever getting much of a return. - This is why there is no mystery investor ready to step up. Unless they're running it for their own ego or to promote something else, like a Middle Eastern country.

Always a bit irritating when my Xbox Live Gold runs out and can't watch Sky or Netflix through it.
Cheers.

We're £120m in debt to Ashley anyway. Newcastle are quite simply not any sort of value for money for investors looking for pragmatic reasons. - And it would cost £100s of Millions to actually be able to get up there. And absolutely bleed money over the next 10 years. Chelsea for example have posted one profit in the past decade of £1.4m.

And it's also very, very easy to suggest players haven't been replaced, but it's very, very hard to directly replace players who have left the squad to go onto better things. It's totally reductive Liverpool haven't replaced Suarez, ManUtd haven't replaced Ronaldo, Newcastle still haven't replaced Shearer, Arsenal still haven't replaced Henry, Messi will never be adequately replaced at Barcelona etc.
But our midfield when Cabaye arrived was Cabaye, Tiote and Guthrie it's now Tiote, Sissoko, Colback, Anita and De Jong (+Bigi and Abeid possibly). Newcastle are seemingly hoping the improved quantity will mask the lack of absolute quality.
Newcastle strikeforce last year was Remy, Cisse, Shola and De Jong, Now it's Riviere, Cisse, Ferrerya & Perez.
3 senior CB's that also finished 5th but whatever.

Someone I know told me there friend pretended to be mental to get out of NS, always hope.
Apparently it was so he could join a group on WOW or something, but it's means he's has to register as a disabled person and can't get a good job.

Robson was no where near the scale of Pardew, but then Robson was sacked a lot quicker. (If Pardew was sacked in Jan2013 for example he certainly wouldn't be viewed this negatively)

Change the names and them articles could pretty much be printed of Pardew was sacked today.

And lets not kid ourselves the club was already on the slide when Robson was sacked, we scrapped into 5th on the final day ahead of Aston Villa. After 2 seasons of being outside challengers for the title.
The big question should be at Newcastle, why for every one season of success, does it take about 5 to recover from?

If it's true 'fan' means it's most likely, Taylor, Dummett, Ameobi or Armstrong. Very unlikely to be Taylor, Armstrong and Dummett aren't likely to be too keen on a loan. So by process of elimination Sammy. Although I doubt it's true, I doubt senior players would confide in a fringe player their thoughts on Newcastle, and I doubt the fringe player would confide in some random about the inner workings of a football club.
Plus it says Coloccini, has no personal problem with Pardew but also wants away from Pardew.

And it's easy to say in hindsight that Cisse should have been dropped, but I'm fairly sure Cisse played RW when Stoke beat Newcastle at the Brittania, the other attacking options on the bench that day were; Sammy, Ferguson, Marveaux and Ranger.
Be honest if Newcastle were beaten playing a 4-3-3 with Ferguson/Ameobi/Obertan as the winger instead of Cisse, would you accept that the manager got it right in dropping Cisse?

HBA was presumably dropped because Tiote came back from injury. HBA had been out of the team for weeks before the Stoke game. Newcastle had won 6 from the previous 8 games before the Stoke game without HBA. And Stoke had 9 men and were the much better team when it was equal.

I don't get what people see in Haidara, he tends to make lots of defensive mistakes. And his attacking generally consisted of running really fast before kicking it at the GK. Dummett may attack less but it's generally of a higher quality. And at least he's not on set pieces any more.
Pardew can have no complaints if he gets sacked, but aside from a short term improvement, I am fairly confident Newcastle won't be much better off in 12 months time. Unless Charnley/Ashley go really outside the box. Javi Gracia is my pick.
This is my ninth season as a season ticket holder, and tbh out of the managers we've had in order it's probably; Keegan, Hughton, Pardew, Roeder, Kinnear, Souness, Shearer, Allardyce.

Pardew has tried several times to build the side around HBA. Pardew also loved Cabaye, and is trying to build the side around De Jong and Cabella. He clearly wants to build the side around a creative number 10. (Although the actual results have been piss poor)
Has there ever been any actual reference to 'tracking back' seems an easy cop out, the issue always seems to be several performances where he didn't look interested or fit. I'm not saying it's HBA's fault, I don't know the details, but he has left Newcastle in the same way as he left Marseille and Lyon, under a cloud and the club willing to cut it's losses on a talented player, whilst his career goes backwards.

I think Newcastle are going to have a bad season. The main issue is I think the club have totally missed what made this Newcastle team rise, and have sold the fringe players, in an attempt to move on to better things. Shola, Best, Perch, Simpson, Lovenkrands, Guthrie all gone, Jonas, S. Taylor and R. Taylor marginalised, completely missing the squad elements.
The star players like Cabaye, HBA, Remy and Ba may go, but the club should have ensured that the foundation remained the same.

Would rather Newcastle kept MYM because I don't want to give up on him. He seems to work hard and pretty likeable, it's a shame it hasn't worked out for him. Nastasic could be an outstanding signing, but I can't get excited about any new signings at the moment.
From a tactics POV, I always think we commit too many players high up too eatly, we can never break quickly because they are already there, rather than coming from deep/ spreading play/ attacking from different angles.
Thought against Palace, who were set up in the traditional counter attacking style with 6 defensive players, rather than dragging their players where they didn't want to go, we committed too many forward to early, totally congesting the play, and leading to the break always being on.

9 players signed this window, and the twitter fans are already complaining about because Newcastle won't panic buy someone. Along with the usual moronic stuff, about players being #Pardewed. If you use stock phrases like that then you literally are a idiot, who can't actually make a coherent argument about football, so must use wild exaggeration to make your point.
Already read today that Sissoko was a £30m player (who we signed for £2m), Gouffran was a top striker (he isn't rated in France, and cost £750k), and Santon is a CL winning fullback.
So many people honestly believe in extremely simple solutions, it's almost childlike how people believe (or claim to believe) that changing x will change everything.
As these people shout the loudest, then the media etc seem to cater for their opinions and deliver what they want to read, rather than actual news or opinion.
