Just me who thinks Steven Davis is Southampton's best player?

Always seems to completely run the show whenever I see Southampton.

I watched the highlights and Debuchy gave away at least two clear cut chances against Switzerland.

Once by being well behind the rest of the defence, and once by not marking his man and tucking in from a cross. Debuchy is a good player, but he's always liable to give away a goal by either coming too far inside and giving his winger far too much space, or by charging recklessly up the field, and vacating the space.

He's good going forward, but not that good.

Probably because it's quite hard.

Chronicle brain trust have recommended the following players that Newcastle should be interested in at the World Cup;
James Rodriguez
Jackson Martinez
Granit Xhaka
Diego Godin
Eduardo Vargas

Top, top scouting boys!

No. He's not very good at defending. Sagna is a much better RB. Debuchy is barely better than Simpson.

Newcastle didn't have to sell, but I'm guessing they saw the £35m bid as too big to turn down, which in truth it was.

He plays for Newcastle, he can whinge all he wants, but unless a club meets Newcastle's asking price, he'll stay. And he wanted to leave CL football for Newcastle 2 years ago...

Very surprised if they're is much interest in him tbh, he's no where near good enough for a top team.

Suarez was actually trying to bite the ball, so it would deflate and the goal wouldn't count.

Disgusting

According to local press, Newcastle turned down Gomis as they're confident of landing their 'top targets'.

Encouraging signs, nice if they'd hurry up and sign them.

Hull buying Robert Snodgrass for £6.5m is very much Sunderland buying Craig Gardner for £6.5m

Quite admirable the way Steve Bruce manages like an average FM player.

Transfer list > Filter unrealistic transfers - then just bids the asking price.

Sent off twice in four games.

Definitely a sociopath. A 63 year ban imo.

If you don't see why biting someone on a football pitch is a lot worse than punching someone on a football pitch (or anywhere really), then you have issues or are biased

Do you think Suarez biting someone is worse than a Ben Thatcher elbow?

I would say the force involved is the factor I find most relevant. Rather than the body part used.

I don't get why people are outraged at the biting element. It's a bit weird, but I don't really think it's any worse than a punch.

Several player across the world will have been charged with violent conduct several times and haven't had their mental health called into question.

Kurt Zouma to Sunderland?

Chelsea only have Cahill, Terry and Kalas right? And Zouma is probably ahead of Kalas right?

No one looks good in a 4-2-3-1.

The Chronicle is getting worse. There outraged that Newcastle denied interest in Diafra Sakho. Chronicle also annoyed that Newcastle

What's there obsession with squad depth as well? Newcastle need 8 signings (including Ayoze & Colback) to have an acceptable level of depth, where as Sunderland are OK and have no need to worry.

Newcastle have 27 first team outfield players and Sunderland have 20.

They're also angry Newcastle aren't bragging about new signings. While going on about Sunderland making 'game-changing' signings

Amusing the smug reaction of Newcastle fans to Sissoko playing CM for France in the first game.

Now shunted to RW.

99% of clubs would have stood by him and the other 1% are lying.

Clubs are going to stick by a player who is worth the hassle.

Man Utd and Chelsea stood by Ferdinand and Terry for racist remarks. Man City stood by violence by Barton. Newcastle signed a player on bail for rape charges. Probably all clubs have stood by a player at some point.

-Draw second game, looking useless
-Win final game, looking useless

I can't really think of anyone better tbh. I mean Pardew is the top English manager, but would he even take it? Would Allardyce?

I don't get the point of playing youth for youth's sake. So many English players completely drop off, even when blooded young.

EURO 2004 Wayne Bridge (23),Darius Vassell (23),
WC2006 Jermaine Jenas (23), Wayne Bridge (25), Aaron Lennon (19), Stewart Downing (21), Scott Carson (20)
WC2010 Michael Dawson (26), Aaron Lennon (23),
EURO 2012 Martin Kelly (21), Ashley Young (26), Jack Butland (21)

A selection of some 'young' players there, who simply did not benefit from the experience. And simply dropped off the England radar. Kelly and Butland stull have time, but were no where near the actual England 2014 squad.

Tom Cleverley was given a key role in England qualifiers, and has completely dropped off. Players are either ready and good enough or they are not. Thomas Muller certainly didn't need the experience.

I think they shouldn't play some of the younger players. They need the vital experience of not playing in the World Cup.

This World Cup has been an excellent standard, with no truly terrible teams. (Avoid England jokes)

Should make some places available for real no-hopers. Chad, Haiti, Mongolia and Luxembourg should be given wild card spots or something.
