Elmohamady to score with a cross that loops over the 'keeper and into the far post.

He mispronounced the names as he mispronounces names. He mispronounced players names who he'd managed before. And mispronounced players names last time he was here.

Funny the reactions of the media, to JFK mispronouncing some players names and Mourinho suggesting that one of his players is lying about his age and essentially committing fraud.

I would still definitely go with Ashley Cole if he gets back in the Chelsea side.

I would be extremely tempted to with Sturridge upfront and move Rooney to the wing. Allows a proper midfield 3 (Henderson, Gerrard, Wilshere?) Still not sure who I would go with on the other wing out of Lallana, Milner, Townsend, AOC or Sterling.

I think Rooney as a number 10 is not going to work. He's not that god at the role and it will lead to England being forced to play with a two man midfield.

Shola likes to say the opposite of what most fans think.

Nah, it's a lot of football fans either don't actually watch football or don't actually understand football and instead just go along with the general opinion.

Luke Shaw being a £20m+ is just the latest. Because he's young, comfortable on the ball and plays for a fashionable team, he is currently being totally overrated.

Leighton Baines is another one, it seems to be fairly unanimous that over the past couple of years, he is better than Cole and should be England's starting LB. Yet I can't remember anyone really caring when he was left out of the 2010 squad for Stephen Warnock.

And surely you can see how often Pardew is accused of playing 'hoofball' despite only Arsenal playing less long balls. With Southampton and Everton in 2nd and 4th most.

Saw on twitter earlier;

If Kompany belted one into his own net from 30 yards, Demichelis would get the blame for not offering a passing option.

Cardiff and Fulham look down, and one from Sunderland/Palace/WBA/Norwich?

Bit of a difference between a shove and a headbutt

And there's a big difference between a proper headbutt and what Pardew actually did. - But that's not my point, if you're demanding that Pardew be sacked for crossing the threshold between management and footballer, then Meyler should also be sacked for doing the exact same.

Still think the JFK - Phil Brown scrap was miles better.

Yep, people being really silly about this.

Surely Meyler has to be sacked and banned indefinitely for shoving Pardew.

When Liverpool are attacking, pay attention to Luke Shaw. He's nearly always doing nothing, standing in the wrong place or usually just not bothering to get back.

He wanted a freekick given for a foul on de Jong.

I hope Pardew complain that the ref is from Bristol, which is closer to Hull than Newcastle. Class.

I'd have Danny Rose in there as well. I've heard he hasn't played very well this season but he was very good last year, certainly ahead of Shaw.

So much of Shaw being totally unable to defend gets overlooked on account of him being 12 and playing for Southampton.

Mackay seems to have played his card very well here, giving the impression that he'd been victimised and all that.

In contrast to Pardew who has said much less considering the similar amount of shit that's going on up there.

Granted Pardew's in probably the only top club that'll persist with him, but it's still interesting to see Mackay do the complete opposite.

Bruce is a better example than Pardew. Hull and Cardiff have had similar sorts of money to spend, and Bruce has done a much better job and has never moaned. And Mackay has probably still got the better reputation.

The media do airbrush loads, Mackay guiding a terrible Cardiff side to promotion, where as Tan invested a lot, and they had the easily best side in the Championship last season. Tan is talking bollocks about Watford, Mackay did a good job, although Dyche finished higher than Mackay in his one season there.

Pardew has had very little to 'deal with', the club sold his best player, but the club are clearly not going to blame Pardew for performance worsening as a result. JFK strengthened Pardew's position incredibly. Most Newcastle fans wanted Pardew gone last summer, as soon as JFK was appointed, he was poor Alan, managing with his hands tied behind his back and one game to save his job.

Tis a story now cos of how shite they played in the 1st leg and cos it's the derby that they'd be "forbidden" from. Trying to push it as United bribing fans really

Apparently Man Utd sent an email to fans with a dickish tone. So that's why its been brought up now.

Also with the job Martinez is doing at Everton now, it could be said he underachieved there Maybe not in terms of league position etc but in terms of the fact that it's now evident that he wasn't just "dealing with what he's got", he played the way he played on purpose

To be fair to Moyes, the club continuing to do well reflects well on Moyes. And besides Martinez is still only likely to finish 6th or 7th. It's not like Everton have won the league this season.

It's a weird one because Sam Allardyce, Tony Pulis and Steve McClaren could all argue to have stronger CVs than David Moyes. None of those managers would be considered even remotely good enough to manage United.

No they don't. Not even close.

For Carroll xoxoxox:

It's taken Liverpool years and a lot of money to overturn the post-Benitez mess, and I think it's going to take a similar period for Man Utd to bounce back. But imo Man Utd need a completely new squad.

I think Manchester United's main problems are that they have an extremely average squad, a non-excellent manager, and unfairly high expectations. Very similar to Hodgson's Liverpool.

was clarified that the owner and senior staff including its former director of football, Joe Kinnear (JK), determined the key Club message for those notes, with the final wording prepared on JK's behalf but with his full approval.
The Club accepted that, while the notes were printed publicly and indirectly became a marketing asset for the programme; this messaging should also have been circulated via its official website in order to reach as many supporters as possible.
Gordon Gilchrist (GG) suggested that it was less than transparent for the former director of football not to have physically written his own notes.
LM explained that it was common practice at professional clubs (and many other organisations) that similar notes would be dictated by a director but typed up on his behalf or ghost written.
SC asked why the notes were attributed to Joe Kinnear.
The board clarified that Joe Kinnear was involved in the drafting of the notes but that the overall messaging was determined collaboratively and could be read as communication from the board.

I can't believe JFK didn't write the programme notes.

I wasn't accusing of him of being a Mackem and being biased in that way. (I didn't know who he supported, so assumed he was from down south somewhere and was neutral).

More of just writing what people want to read, rather than an honest impartial assessment and match report. Sunderland fans are backing Poyet and the team, so journalists aren't willing to criticise, Newcastle are unpopular so journalists are eager to criticise at any opportunity.

Number of negative tweets about Sunderland being beat at Arsenal - 0
Number of negative tweets about Newcastle winning against Aston Villa - 13

No negative tweets about Sunderland getting beat of Hull either.

Anyway, I know I have a go at the Newcastle crowd, but fair enough, there was no anti-Ashley/Pardew/Newcastle chanting today, and no excessive having a go at the players and Newcastle won the match. Villa fans bizarrely were chanting 'Lambert give us a wave' early on and 'you don't know what you're doing' late in the game. How bad can Joe Bennett possibly be? Incidentally it was Joe Bennett who didn't clear his lines for the goal...
