Ji was pretty good for Augsburg, helped them survive relegation. Can't see them going with Aubameyang as their main striker either. I think they'll bring in someone.

Is Scheiber being sold?

Crazy to think Sunderland could get relegated and their reserve strikers will be at BVB and wherever Borini ends up.

Sunderland have sacked Keith Lemon.

Probably good news for Sunderland, if it means Poyet has control over transfers. He seems to have been a disaster. I think Ki is the only signing to come off.

Hard to know what it means for Sunderland's transfers though, hard to know if Andujar, Scocco and Vergini were Poyet or De Fanti targets.

Mark Douglas in the Journal today suggesting that Kinnear has cost Newcastle the title this year. Douglas doesn't understand the concept of net transfer spend. Aiming his fury at programme notes, which Kinnear almost certainly doesn't write.

Nice to see Journal/Chronicle are still right up Pardew's arse.

Steven Taylor and Jonas were the guys I was referring to. I understand that rage at Shola is always going to happen and I can understand why fans don't like Obertan (booing him is fucking shocking though).

It's more the randomness element. Gouffran is loved for his work rate, Jonas is hated for it. Steven Taylor as been generally liked for the past decade, than has suddenly jerked into being a hated joke who isn't good enough. Williamson has went from that to first name on the team sheet in 6 months or so.

There's also the inverse. The answer to ALL problems, Shane Long.

Shane Long - 19 in 84 (PL for WBA)
Nikica Jelavic - 16 in 59 (PL)
Danny Graham 16 in 86 (PL)
Papiss Cisse 22 in 64 (PL)
Remy 18 in 32 (PL)

Shane Long would be a top signing though.

Also Newcastle should sign Best back.

Sunderland have apparently signed an Argentinian CB - Vergini and are interested in an Argentinian GK and striker. Fair play to them for sticking with this transfer style I suppose, shows a bit of guts.

Meanwhile Cabral is the first of their summer signings to leave going on loan to Genoa.

One of Cuellar/Roberge/Diakite must be away as well surely.

Isn't there 24 hour drinking in the UK now anyway? I think Wetherspoons serve at like 9am or something. Pubs will serve on derby days anyway, too much money.

Early kick offs just seem to get the pissheads more motivated. Getting up at 8 on a sunday to get the bus into Newcastle early to make sure they get enough drinking hours in before the match.

Well that's 'fine' assuming you live south of Sunderland. If you live north - it will mean travelling in the wrong direction. Plus a massive ballache for people who live within walking distance of the stadium. Instead of a 2 minute walk, a two hour journey and the additional costs of it.

I don't think anyone knows. There has been conflicting reports to whether Newcastle and QPR have an agreed fee, with most of them suggesting there is not. I've seen nothing to suggest there is a chance of him leaving in January. I think Newcastle is his level if i'm honest, I'm unconvinced he can step up.

I don't think anyone is going to risk signing him until his legal problems go away.
