If I was going to moan about something this year on FM it would be the amount of goals I've conceded. Could be my tactics or a slight change in the match engine, I don't know, but otherwise the game is unbelievable and gets better each year.

Was a great win for Ireland.

Gives us a shot at the grand slam now.

Should beat Scotland which is our final game so next up against Wales is massive.

Wow, shame no body wanted Di Maria Will be tough to see how you going to fit all of them in your starting XI

Well I'm glad nobody wanted him as I want to keep him. He'll score a guaranteed 10-15 goals a season and make 15-20, he's world class and I wouldn't want to lose him. It'll be tough keeping them all happy, but I'm confident I can do that with a bit of rotation here and there.

We've been handed a tough start in the Premier League with the month of August looking like this.

We've also suffered a few injuries during the preseason which means Tyler Blackett, Angel Di Maria, James Wilson, Gareth Bale, Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Angelo Henriquez will all be unavailable for out opening day clash with Stoke at Old Trafford. Wilson and Henriquez should be back for the Arsenal clash, but we'll be without Di Maria and Bale until the Liverpool game. We'll likely be without Rooney and van Persie until mid September, the latter making a quicker than expected return after rupturing his cruciate ligaments back in February against Hull.

I'm absolutely intent on following up our FA Cup success with Premier League glory and this signing shows that I mean business. I spoke in a previous post about how Angel Di Maria wanted away and how I thought if we did let him go only a world class player like say Gareth Bale could replace him. Well I've signed Bale for an initial fee of £70 million. Now in the end Real Madrid will probably get closer to £80 million and I'm fine with that, because this is a mammoth transfer that should ensure we at the very least return to the Champions League next season.

Oh we've also kept Di Maria and nobody is currently interested in signing him, so our front line could consist of Gareth Bale, Adnan Januzaj, Angel Di Maria, James Wilson or Wayne Rooney, absolutely mouthwatering.

The arrival of Bale signalled the end for Wilfried Zaha who departed for Inter Milan and Marcos Rojo left for Atletico Madrid. Elsewhere there were loan moves for Martin Odegaard, Dennis Praet and Marcus Rashford. All three will likely have bright futures at Old Trafford, but for now regular first team football is essential for their development.

A 12 year wait for FA Cup glory has come to an end and it couldn't have happened in more dramatic fashion. With less then 10 minutes remaining James Wilson etched his name into Manchester United folklore by scoring the only goal at Wembley as we seen off the challenge of Arsenal. Only minutes before Wilson scored what would be the winner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had smashed a shot against our crossbar. As you can see it was a tight affair, with not much difference between the sides, but unfortunately there must be a winner and a loser on the day.

My first piece of silverware as Manchester United manager feels like a dream come true and I'm hoping this success will help drive the players on next season as we search for Premier League glory. In the end the two cup competitions we got knocked out of were won by the sides who managed to beat us as Manchester City thrashed Wigan Athletic in the Capital One Cup final and Juventus beat Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League final.

Honestly I just start a save and set myself the target of playing 6-12 months.

If I'm feeling it then I continue, if not I probably try something else out.

I personally find it very hard to plan a career out beforehand, just doesn't get me interested.

Some poor results during the middle of the season and towards the end of the season has cost us a place in the Champions League for next season. Thankfully we've reached the FA Cup final and I'd say should we win it that'll be a saving grace and keep me employed despite this setback. We'll face Arsenal at Wembley. We actually picked up a point more this season, but everyone else did better and we've some work to do. In fairness we did lose Robin van Persie in February and then in March we lost Mario Gotze for the season after he broke his leg against Everton.

Every cloud has its silver lining though and James Wilson has taken his chance with both hands. The 20 year old scored 11 goals in 21 Premier League games and scored an impressive 21 times in 36 games in all competitions, a fantastic return for a player of his age who is only beginning to get regular first team football at this level.

http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x328/caoimhin89/Theatre%20of%20Dreams/JamesWilson_zpseou7ryke.png

He recently signed a new deal until 2020 worth £25,000 a week, but to be fair come December we'll probably be offering him a new deal with a larger wage that reflects his importance. I'm hoping that Wilson will be a part of the England squad that'll travel to the European Championships during the summer to cap off a stellar year.

Two big issues heading into the summer will be the futures of Argentine internationals Marcos Rojo and Angel Di Maria. The pair have both expressed their desire to leave in search of Champions League football and it's a delicate situation. I could probably get away with allowing Rojo to leave for about £20 million. In regards to Di Maria the fans love him, he creates and scores goals so allowing him to leave would be a gamble and also replacing him would be difficult. Unless we could replace him with say Gareth Bale then I don't feel like letting him go is even an option.

Well we've absolutely no chance of winning the Premier League with the season drawing to a conclusion. We've conceded to many goals again and to be honest it's against teams we shouldn't be conceding heavily.

I'm not sure if it's just a bit of bad luck or if my tactics against those sides are a little bit to aggressive in terms of attacking and underestimating their threat. We crashed out of the Capital One Cup losing 2-1 on aggregate to Manchester City who went on to thrash Wigan Athletic in the final. We didn't have much luck in the Champions League either against Juventus as we went down 3-1 in Italy before forcing penalties at Old Trafford.

Unfortunately David De Gea smashed the crossbar and Juventus won 10-9, the Spanish international the only person to miss a spot kick. I feel a sense of bitterness about the result as we looked truly in control until Marcos Rojo got himself sent off for two bookable offences and I think in the end we didn't have the legs to win in extra time.

The target for the rest of the season is to finish within the top four and qualify for next seasons Champions League. We'll face either Everton or Swansea in the FA Cup Semi Final and I'm really confident we can book our place in the showpiece event on May 14 at Wembley. We've never lost a game to Everton or Swansea under my management.

There was bad news for Robin van Persie when we played Hull in February, the Dutch striker rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament which will rule him out for 8 to 10 months. Upon his return he'll be 33 and with James Wilson now developing well, he's scored 15 times in 26 appearances in all competitions, the Dutch international could find it difficult to break back into the first team. I'll have a big decision to make as his contract expires in June 2017 and unless he's willing to accept a significant decrease in his wages it could be the end for him at Old Trafford.
