#561437 Football Manager 2020 realistic match engine patch
RellomQ
Animations & physical engine - Positive
- General movement of players is far better in possession.
- The ball is closer to the player's feet. And he will have a more natural touch with it.
- Their movement, when passing, crossing, dripling, etc. Correspond better with reality then the normal engine.
- Defensive players movement, and body language is improved, tackling, sliding, headers in front of goal, is all better.
- Animation of the body when they fall, either too tackles, slides or the goalkeeper jumping, all looks more natural. Seemingly with more animated patterns.
- Goalkeepers dive more fluently and generally connect better with the ball when they save, punch or block.
- Tricks and skills. By that I mean improved, or possibly new animations, such as jumping over the goalkeeper, knocking the ball past the opponent, even taking the ball down with the chest, is more fluent. As an example, did my striker on a corner where he was attacking from the edge of the box, bow down fluently to head the ball when he was connecting with it. Another one, is a midfielder taking down a crossing with his chest, and in one motion hit it on his knee and directly kick it with his left boot pretty high in the air (Zidane like was my thought when I saw it.) I’m pretty sure this is SI coded, but the animations are upgraded or new.
Animations - physical engine - Negative:- You will still see two players press the same ball holder. Tactical this is illogical, and something that hasn't changed from the normal engine.
- Celebrations and situational feelings after being fouled, or being offside, has not changed.
- Some of the odd celebration, where they walk like a duck or penguin after scoring, is still happening.
- No new animations to crowds.
The numbers, the traits, the roles & the tactics - Positive:- When a 30 year old centre back with 15 in strength, comes up against a 167cm 18 old striker, the youngster will be punished in stationary situations such as corners, free kicks, and throw ins. But that youngster might have 15 pace, and 13 dribbling and just wickle around that old defender in open game. You will more clearly notice this, down to the animation & physical engine changes. This is not a direct change, but something that feels like it.
- Most traits seem more used, and more unique in the engine and so far, they also seem to have a bigger impact in the games. If you have a technical good striker with (trying to lob the keeper) then expect him to do this more often in the new engine.
- Player roles have undergone major changes. Or at least just how well the players understand them. Even in lower leagues, they will stick more strictly to their roles and instructions. And again you will notice this pretty fast, if you are using a well known tactic and team.
- Tactics … oh boy. Well, since everything is changed, so is your tactic and how the players react to it. you need to learn a new ABC, the cookie cutter is gone.
The numbers, the traits, the roles & the tactics - Negative:- I have no confirmation about changes to the numbers, and their impact on players, same goes with traits. It could all be animated, and just look better on the pitch. Tho, even if there are no changes, it still feels better, and the animations will give you more information and enjoyment watching games.
- We have no idea how much all this will influence the ability to set tactics, set pieces, roles or instructions. So far, is it only positive to experience something new. But time will tell how much the new engine will handicap us as tactical managers, or just give us more options.
MISC - Positive & negative- Players make more mistakes (lower leagues.) I see this as a positive. You will see more blocks and parried balls go out to throw ins and corners. Same with header, where two people are fighting for it, but also better headers when people are jumping up to head a ball on their own and more logical pathing. 20-30% more mistakes from my players, is a good estimate. I would not directly call them mistakes, as much as they are just things that happen the same amount, in real games too. But the game sees them as mistakes non the less.
- No nonsense defender, are truly no nonsense. They kick that ball out of the park, with the slightest risk around them. I think it needs tweaking.
- The ball interacts with the players in a different way. Much like you will see more blocks and parries, will you also see players in close contact have the ball bouncing between them sometimes (sort of in a power struggle, or more random benefactor,) before one of them ends up with the longest straw, or just try and hits it, with a new bouch where it ends up at a third players feet or out for a throw.
- This is not FIFA or PES. We can dream all we like, it aint gonna happen. But this mod goes a long way with realisme for addicted FM nerds.
- I’m yet to see a nutmeg or overhead kick. I will be disappointed when it happens, should never happen in Welsh 4th best division or Norwigian 3rd division.
I'm going to switch over to a ESL team for a season or 2, to see how this plays out, with top class players. Hopefully Is there bigger difference between Norwegian or Welsh lower leauges to ESL, then in the normal engine. I'll be back, with more updates.#561368 Football Manager 2020 realistic match engine patch

Now that is the question indeed. What are the improvements?
Well, for sure just the enjoyment of watching games now. Either in Comprehensive or full, is big change to me, as I normally would do Key highlights only. I actually enjoy watching the games now. That is probably the biggest improvement.
But the bigger question is, what does it change? I think we need @Billgates to answer that in more details. But from the half season I have played the past 24 hours or so, am I quite sure that it changes quite a lot also outside of the physical engine, or how it looks. Like Billgates wrote in the description should it change a multipile of things.
If I where to list the most impactful things I have noticed in my low League save, is it as following:
1. Heading. Possibly well connected with number two on the list, that it seems players with good heading + jumping/strength are just doing better overall in the lower leauges.
2. Physical numbers. At least in lower leauges, they seem more potent. When someone with high pace or agility is running at someone, they really go past slower players quickly.
3. Passing & more realistic ball physics. It is hard to explain this one, but you will notice it quickly.
4. Tackles & physical contact. Now don't get me wrong, it is not perfect, but it is waaay better then before. It just looks like collision a lot more, and you will see the defenders actually have some motions and movement that is more correct for a defender to have.
5. Tactics. I'm currently using a tactic that I have used for many years, and only have tweaked a little. This tactic is still working, but the players seems to do deferent bits then on the normal engine (proberbly acting more precise, to the tactical instructions). This is one of the things that will take longer to get an understanding of, and might just be a side effect to some of the other changes. But I would for sure say, there is a change in how players understand the tactic or behave in the tactic you set.
6. Traits. Again, this could also just be other changes fault, but a few of my players with special traits, such as knock ball past opponent or try to lob the keeper, seems to do it, possibly more, and also surly looks deferent then normal, in the physics.
7. Corners & Throws. Alright, this might actually be down to me playing lower leauges with players making more mistakes then in the normal engine, and therefor giving more corners and throws away duo to poor passes, crossings etc etc. But that is not all, specially the corners have I noticed that players act more correct. I think that is my point 1 and 2, coming into action here. Players just head better, defend better, and overall act better in a stationary situation I feel.
This is what I have noticed. But maybe @Billgates can enlighten us, a little more on how this all exactly works.

Oh alright. Well, I'm just happy that I got this right now to play with. Really a big improvement. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved the game, but this just adds to the modding scene, on a whole new level. I just checked out the Korean forum, can't fathom I have never seen it before now. Seems like a really big community. Hopefully some more Koreans will, just like you, bring some of their stuff over here, or another international FM forum. This is really good Billgates, keep up the good work. Oh, and do let us know if you plan on updating this for FM21. I think many will think twice about buying or not, depending on something like this getting updated early on.
Hopefully, SI wont block your chances of making this better in the future, would be a real shame.

Are you telling us, you got more versions of this?
Dude, bring it on. I would love to try all 5-6 engines in my lower leauge save. If you already got 5-6 of them, I'm guessing you got plans to mix them up, to get the best possible outcome at the end? I don't mind testing.
I'm not sure everyone will like this, or everyone understand the meaning of it. But for most trying it, would I believe it will have a big positive impact in this community.

This is legit, the best mod for FM20, or any FM I have played in the past 15 years. I got +20k hours in total in this game, and have never had a mod that changed the games more then this. And in this case, in a positive way.
I can't claim, what will happen to my save in the long run, but so far, after 10 games with this mod on. Have it changed completely how I play, or for now, at least how I watch matches. Down the road, am I sure it will change how I make tactics, and proberbly what stats I look for in players, traits, roles, etc etc.
I mostly play lower leagues saves (journeyman,) and got quite the amount of great tactics, training schedules, filters and so on, that I have tweaked over the years. I got a feeling I need to revamp everything I have learned. Oh, and yes. That is a brilliant thing.
I do believe this mod makes the game harder. At least for quite some time, since you need to almost, learn a new game. And adapt to the new stuff happening in the games. And trust me, there are plenty of changes, and they are definitely not only improvements physically speaking, but also how players react to traits, tactics, set pices, etc. etc. Again, I have no idea how the guy created this or how much he changed, but everything just seem more potent, and yet more real. It creates that odd feeling, that there are more intensity and realisme to the games then before, a lot more of it actually. Like I said, I play lower leauges, currently in Wales division 1, and I see my players with odd numbers do odd stuff now. I Got a winger with 13 dribbling, 12 acceleration and (try more tricks) trait. He is doing bits to those poor backs on the other teams compared to before. But on the other hand, I noticed him coming up against a really good Left back, with some heavy numbers in physical, specially strength and he was just beaten time and time again on good tackles, pace, constantly fouled by that left back and ended that match with 6.3 overall, even tho rest of my team where doing good, and we won. You might think, you would see this in the normal match engine. But really, no, you wont. Not like that at least. Its hard to explain, so go download it yourself and try it.
I would highly suggest to watch a game in full the first time, to get an understanding of how well and real it feel, compared to the normal match engine. This is above and beyond, what I could imagine SI do in many years to come.

Nothing on 3 different scanners suggest any harmful maleware. I think we are good here.
Just had my first game with this, in a save. So yeah first off, it is compatible with old saves. If any one should be worried about this.
I have no idea how this Korean genius did this. But it really do change things. I'm not even sure if it is better, or just looks better. But already after one game, I can tell that after 2450 hours of FM20, I for one will be happy to play with this modified match engine for two months, before FM21 hit our no life fix for new and better, (hopefully.)
