#75185 The Manchester City Thread

If you're in the third pot, I think you'll be in the group of death regardless just because you should easily be the strongest team in pot 3. But obviously, I don't think anyone expects you to perform as badly as this year - even if you were drawn in the exact same group.

I was suprised Pardew came out and said that, pretty silly really, especially given all the flack he's taken recently. But it seems pretty obvious he didn't mean that we won't be bothering next week - just that we're safe now and that's the big goal accomplished and the Arsenal result is more or less meaningless (which it is tbf).
It was a decent performance yesterday, and it was nice to see us not sit back and defend after getting into a good position. Hopefully we can get Cisse staying onside by next season, he must be up to 5-10 offside goals this season.

To be fair, that's easy to say in hindsight.
Before the games were played, I'm sure a lot of people would assume the Merseyside Derby would be a good game. Plus United-Chelsea is often a good game and features two of the most supported teams in the season and Sky want big viewing figures as well.

We should, but by the sounds of things they made a game of it against Arsenal last night after the first 20 seconds.
At the minute the goals seemed to have dried up for us, so it's a bit of a worry just getting on the scoreboard.

Krul
Debuchy - Coloccini - S. Taylor - Santon
Cabaye - Perch
Ben Arfa - Sissoko - Marveaux
Cisse
---------------------
Krul, the centre-backs, Cabaye and Cisse are the only one's I'm semi-certain on. Ba could be in there, despite leaving. I'm not sure Ben Arfa or Marveaux have been particularly great, but as with most of our squad there's been injuries and I'm not really sure who's better.

That's just not true though. They were well in contention against Real Madrid until the Nani red card, without the red card it may well have ended up Utd v Dortmund in the semi-finals.
I don't think they're going to be favourites for the Champions League at the moment, but they're certainly good enough to challenge anyone.

Then surely it's a good thing, people are giving money they wouldn't normally give to charity. So what if they get a bit of publicity from it if it helps other people.

Can't see what the problem with passive charity is to be honest. Ultimately the money still gets donated which should be the bottom-line.
Amendola could feasibly be giving $100,000 to charity by the end of the season.
