Here here.

Lincs derby day for us tomorrow, Lincoln at home, time to avenge the defeat at their place earlier this season. They refused to play us on the traditional Boxing Day fixture this year (probably to avoid the Christmas stuffing) opting to play Alfreton instead, so hoping to put a few past them tomorrow! Up the Mariners!

We're on a European tour today, travelling to Newport (not me personally), the weatherman says torrential rain and wind and Arctic conditions! Which is good because Newport's standing terrace is uncovered! And yes, a very safe journey to everyone travelling to support their team today.


Newport away end is horrible in bad weather! Driving rain and bitter wind last time I went there.

Vercoe - we've had a second bid rejected for Hourihane. What's he like? Your local rag 'understands' we won't be going back in with another offer, but I think we will.

Also, we've signed Adam Davies and Kane Hemmings. Brian Howard and Gary Harkins rumoured to be signing too. Quite excited about Hemmings. Won the Championship Player of the Year, albeit in Scotland, but looks like he has pace and an eye for goal. Exactly what we need.


Harkins really isn't that great. Alright he's had a few good seasons in Scotland but there's a reason we released him, and look where we are now.

We've made a few good signings so far. After another striker or two and another centrehalf would be nice. Looks like we'll be strong again next season.

Pleased Cambridge went up on Sunday, best team on the day and better team overall. Unfortunately for Gateshead, the referee couldn't help them this time (although he tried).

Looking forward to welcoming the 13 Heed fans back to Blundell Park next season.

Telegraph Sam has summed it up perfectly. I think its extremely disrespectful to assume that somehow us conference clubs are being done a "favour". Id pick Nuneaton away every day of the week over Stoke B. The majority of Premier League fans will never and have never experienced the highs and lows of being a lower league club.

If we think that somehow Mansfield v Liverpool B is going to make England win the world cup then we have truly lost the plot.

We were done a kipper by the ref at Gateshead. Sent our lad off for a nothing challenge, the Heed lad goes down like he's been shot. We equalise with 10 men only for the ref to send our right back off too.

Hard enough 11 v 11, let alone 12 v 9.

We let you beat us twice already But yeah to be fair, I'd rather let you play Cambridge, although I didn't Halifax were much special at Blundell Park recently, was more our poor finishing rather than your good play that won you the game. Good goal mind.

What do you make of the defender Sam Hatton? I've seen other Grimsby fans split over him, some like him and some think he's shit. I know he is leaving this summer, his girlfriend has already moved back near her home and he wants to be at a club nearer his family.


Yeah he's ok. Been playing well recently. Has a tendency to panic a little when the balls bouncing around the box but he's solid enough. Knew he was leaving since around November time when he asked to leave but fair play to him he's always done ok when he's played. He's been playing regular recently as our other right back (Paul Bignot) has been injured.

Oh, and Oumare Tounkara is ok too. His thigh muscles are insane!

We've made the playoffs with a game to spare. Good job really cos I wouldn't fancy us last game to get a point if we needed it. Hoping to avoid Cambridge in the semis but over two legs I fancy us! Saying that, we struggled to beat Hyde yesterday....

We've played Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday for the last god knows how many weeks. Had Saturday, Tuesday this week so far, game tonight, game Saturday and then Tuesday again, then Friday, Monday!

Does anyone play the Pro Clubs thing? Decided to be different and make my guy a centrehalf but got kicked off the last club I joined when I fucked up a few times (blame the defence syndrome).

Next gen also sucks not having creation centre and a separate tournament offline mode.

Gutted to lose but what a performance. Quality of Huddersfield showed but thought we defended superbly and played some cracking football ourselves. Good save from Smithies from Aswads header, could have been 3-1.

Wouldn't agree that our keeps was awful, made a number of good saves. Agree that he himself will feel he could have done better with the free kick, the second one moved in the air mind. He's actually a very highly rated keeper.

So proud of all of them, absolute shift and we should at least have a replay.

Cos we played Macc yesterday, lost 3-2, first defeat in 15 games. Macc played pretty well, surprised theyre not doing better. We were awful mind and another day would have got at least a point. Boxing day game against Lincoln took its toll on the players i think.
Macc players were first class dickheads by the way, especially the guy upfront, Boden and the lad in midfield, Kay. Get on with the game rather than antagonizing the crowd, wankers.

Back to winning ways on new years day, Lincoln at home.
