Swans picked up another 3 new signing so overall a very good window IMO, still unsure if it will be enough Norwich + Brentford in fairness look a notch above the Swnas

However a big game today will be one for the Swans to prove me wrong😉

Swansea City will have new signings Morgan Whittaker and Kieron Freeman available for the top-of-the-table clash with Norwich City though Another deadline day signing, Paul Arriola, will not be involved after his move from DC United, Brentford winning their game in hand are now up to second so got to take something from the Norwich game or could be all of a sudden 4 points off the top 2

NB if you want the daily live Data update continue downloading that, and remember to Delete any previous version of our Data Update/and this file you may have installed before you start any new save

This file cannot run alongside the normal Data update  xml download file, it replaces it.

Users also need to report to SI the fact that there is still on going issues with using XML files in the game then they may well address the issue in the next patch and stop the need to convert to FMF

[9]Match Day Rules rather than Overall Squad Rules- Continental Comps

I have found over the years that editing squad rules is always bugged in game via the Fixture rule index

 so for continental comps I set up match rules instead of overall squad rules, so instead of having season rules you now have match day rule/s to comply with and you can add as many as you want really

 it basically does the same thing and you can set up things to be specific like this as an example below eg certain rules for teams from specific leagues/or just specific clubs only this way you can impose tougher rules to say BIG clubs only, and therefore make things a bit fairer 😉

so if you want to let the DIRTY DOZEN still play in Europe but have massive sanctions here is your opportunity

In tests I have run this is the way to punish them better than taking money from them[game generates more to cover it quickly]

This way in a 10 year sim the ‘elites’   win the UCL once 

Ignore that first match rule above which says nation#1 that should say The Home Nation players eg Spain/England etc

 it works correctly in game but has displayed like this for approx the last 5 versions of the game

Editing International Comps

NB-

THE ABOVE METHOD CAN BE USED TO EDIT INTERNATIONAL COMPS TOO EG FIFA WORLD CUP/EUROS etc

but you have to edit the qualifiers too if you are changing the number of teams taking part in the FINALS-You will see below the WC finals is a 64 team comp also the EURO finals is a 32 team event 

The only difference is you need to make the file International rules not Continental

Nearly done when you open file in the editor it will have the UEFA comps only

You still need to make this a continental file this is easy

click list-ADD

a new set of rules now shows called other 

we need to change this from a default comp to a continent[you can use this method for international comps too- just here you select International not continental rules]

Then add Europe as the continent

you can remove the comp/s being linked to England as a nation if you wish and again export to save

you now have a continental rules file

you can now edit things like this 

FFP /Squad selection rules etc etc or even change the structure of a comp/s like @Carlito85  does with his brilliant file/s

This method I worked on several years ago and is one I still stick to, however some users are finding it too complicated for them so use point [7] above

Also read point[17] regarding squad selection rules etc and [28] Remember for continental/International files to make sure all competitions are entered correctly

It will now look like this [NB YOU CAN STOP HERE IF YOU ARE WANTING THE QUICK METHOD FOR [7] AND COPY THIS LIST TO PASTE IN YOUR FILE CREATED IN [7]

Now we must delete that  database change/s we created - we added nation to the comp/s

Go to Database Changes section, select the   record/s and click remove.

After that click "reload database and apply undeleted changes"

we can now save the file

NB The file has to be xml so you need to use EXPORT and save the file this way, we do not want a fmf file. Exit the file now in the editor

Only thing left is to get rid of the Nation Rules we need this file to be continental rules only. For this we must edit the xml file directly and not in the editor

this is the great thing of using xml files it allows other options to edit

open the file it in Notepad +++ not in the editor

Click somewhere on line 3 - the "rule_group" line. Its the start of Basic editor nation rules section.

 When you click somewhere on that line you will see a red line appear[marked with green dots here just to highlight it for you to see]

Scroll down with your mouse and you will see where that section the red line ends [it is line 245 IIRC in my European template file]

you now need to delete that section totally- this is removing the nation rules part of the file-

It will look like this when done correctly-now save the change 

NB If you want the file to be what I call ‘’forced verification'' meaning it will not need to be verified in the editor you need to remove ‘’verf'' from the file in notepad-use  search for the term verf ,then remove any lines with list id= verf in the file and save. Then exit notepad.

If done correctly when you reopen the editor and reload your file using import when you look at test rules it will be greyed out.

By doing this you have to test the file in game- load a new save and either holiday for several seasons or use a custom start date. I tend to run up to 10 years to make sure there are no hidden issues [like the comp/s not starting in season 2, or running every other year, different rules kicking in down the line, or more importantly issues with other comps eg it is well known that changing the World Cup can stop comps like the AFCON not being played etc etc]

Now we need to start making this a specific continental only rules file

go to list

select everything other than UEFA competitions and remove them

Do this to all the  UEFA CLUB comps you want 

[THEN OPEN NATION RULES FOR ENGLAND EXPLAINED IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF POSTS IN THIS THREAD]

once done convert to advanced rules

Now along with the English league structure you will see those UEFA competitions

Edit the club competitions you want to change by setting the comp/s to  a nation, here it is England[but I usually use Belarus for some reason]

[8]How to view continental/international rules[OLDER METHOD]

How to set up continental/international rules without rebuilding the whole competition/s.

If you want club continental rules then you need that in its own file. Similarly if you want International rules then that has to be in its own file-you cant have continental+international rules in the same file[however if you are wanting just to view the comps and or copy them for future use then you can set the World Cup and the UCL to the same country just to set everything up only]

So here we will look at European continental rules[ but the same principal applies to International comps eg World Cup/Olympics NB if say you want to increase the number of teams in the World Cup you need to edit the various qualifying comps too and you may need to edit/delete the Nations league pathway  ]

First open the editor and under competitions search for UEFA
