Exactly. If you so much as look at Aguero funny, his hamstring is liable to go.

Yeah thats probably more correct, its nuts how injuries have been a problem for Arsenal for a while now and still nothing seems to have changed

Arsenal are the worst for it but all of the big teams in England seem to have a problem with it. United's fitness record has been poor for the last few years and City's has been dodgy since at least 2012 when Mancini (supposedly) had the team doctor sacked.

Same calibre imo. Silva, Mesut & Cesc are in the same bracket.

Unfortunately, you're opinion is wrong then. They're all roughly at the same level when they're at their best - Cesc possibly being the best of the three given his goal-scoring - but Silva is far and away the most consistent in his performances. He turns up in big games, he's good defensively (for a playmaker) and he rarely plays badly. On the other hand, we're all aware of the stick Ozil gets for his consistency and performances in big games and Fabregas isn't exactly renowned for his consistency.

Silva and Di María are the two best players in the league at the moment.

What is it with the medical team at Arsenal?

Think it's probably more to do with training methods tbh.

Probably because he's got a competent manager looking after him tbh.

Not really, he's just a better player than Ozil.

Ozil needs pace around him. Much like Mata and Silva.

Welbeck, Theo and Sanchez with Ozil in the number 10 would be interesting to see.

Silva doesn't need pace around him.

I guess you're right. If Sterling doesn't come out and say "I'm never signing another contract with these cunts" then nothing's gonna happen.

Bang on the banana.

Why do people keep comparing Sterling and Barkley?

They're very different players.

They're young, English and attacking midfielders. That's enough for vague comparisons (and bullshit opinion pieces in the tabloids).

Well, Real Madrid don't need him, nor would he realistically even get a game to begin with. He'd be stupid to move there at this stage. And you'll probably find there's also little reason for any EPL side to show interest just yet, however, if he doesn't sign a new deal and his contact dwindles down further that will most likely change. More so if Liverpool fail to actually do anything, which at this stage they aren't going to come close to the league and possibly not even progress from their CL group.

That's pretty much a guarantee that Perez will try and buy him.

Pretty sure I've seen shit like this done before by other clubs, not sure what the big deal is, just pointless PR stuff.

Seems to be a case of people taking the piss out of our PR stuff, but who even pays much attention to it?

All clubs do stuff like this, Liverpool just seem to do all of it worse than everybody else. Those pictures announcing their new signings are a great example.

Their PR people are just a bit shit.

Yep, City were poor. Paul Scholes had it spot on about the atmosphere too - and that comment was before the match.

I think he was going to say it whatever happened to be honest but it wasn't a big surprise.

The atmosphere's rarely great at the Etihad at the best of times, the loudest sections are split up by the away fans and the sound tends not to carry very well across the pitch to other sections. If you add that to a flat performance, ever-increasing prices and a relatively small/poor fan-base, unfortunately atmosphere and attendance is going to suffer.

Frankly the club don't help themselves in that regard, they've been steadily pricing people out for the last couple of years and it doesn't look like they're about to stop any time soon.

Surely Maicon should have been sent off for conceding the penalty?

Yes, he should. Clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Not sure that was his fault but I agree generally.

Yeah it's definitely a red card, but seeing that tackle and seeing it be described as violent and malicious and him losing his head doesn't really add up .

Looks more like trying to 'take one for the team' so to speak, and just does it badly than anything particularly violent.

I think it's the back swing/back lift that's making most people see it as as more than just cynical.

Dzeko always steps up, it's just ridiculous. His passing has improved greatly, he used to not be able to pass 5 yards. He tends to stay too deep though, his movement against Wednesday was top class but he doesn't do that in the Prem

His passing and first touch are still incredibly hit and miss (his first touch was unbelievably shit against Wednesday) but, yeah, he keeps stepping up at important moments.

I'd never really noticed it before, but watching him in person it's uncanny just how often he ends up in the right place at the right time. He reads the game so well.

Dzeko has been awesome though, but you're right our midfield is being overrun

He had a few bad moments, especially in the first half, but his first was a cracker and he stepped up when we needed it for the second. I can't really fault him.

His movement is just incredible.

Mangala is fucking woeful.

Not really. First was unlucky, second was genuinely bad but wouldn't have happened if Yaya or Clichy had done their jobs properly.

If we can regain our hold on midfield, we should get back on top. Either Navas or Lampard on for Dzeko for me, either way an extra body in midfield.

Looked at lot like it to me. Demi and Lamps in DM, Mangala, Sagna and Boyata at the back. This was after around 60 mins though

Yeah, I think it was just because Kolarov wasn't bothering to track back to be honest.

Mangala is so good that Boyata actually looked alright when he came on. He only almost gave away one penalty!

What Slash said. Lopes and Rekik would have been the two most obvious young players to start were they not out on loan.

Surprised at the team City had out. Especially considering they rested Yaya a couple of weeks ago against Arsenal.

Given that he didn't play because he returned from international duty late I'm not sure if that quite counts as being rested.

Do you fear the IN FORM strikeforce of Papiss Cisse and Emanuele Riviere?

No.

I knew we'd lose to City but I didn't expect us to get raped

Before tonight we'd only conceded 4 in 10 games!

Don't know if you were there or not but the scoreline definitely flattered City. Wednesday were doing pretty well until the red - which looked very, very harsh - after that they kind of fell apart.

Bizarre game for us. Awful for 45/50 minutes then seven goals from two separate fifteen minute spells in which we actually looked pretty good. Lampard and Navas were brilliant in the second-half, Dzeko had one of his special performances and then Pozo scored on his debut.

Don't really think Barkley's that good a player tbh. Certainly got some technical ability and can beat a man, but he'd get half the hype if he wasn't English.

For the money Everton would want (surely 40m+) you'd get far better players in either of the posistions he can play.

Almost certainly. They wouldn't be home-grown though, unfortunately that's important enough to play a part in transfer policy.
