i will quote one of the mods from the SI forums:
''One of the changes that has been made to this area of the game this year is to restrict the contract lengths the user is able to offer to players depending on a number of factors. This is to prevent scenario's where the user was previously able to offer longer term contracts to players who perhaps shouldn't have been able to get long term deals.
There are a number of factors taken into account when determining the contract lengths the user can be offered. These can be seen below.
Board attributes - Depending on the board attributes of your club, the length of contracts to certain players will be affected. For example a sugar daddied board will be more likely to allow longer contracts than a more prudent board.
Club size - Bigger the club the longer the contract that can be offered, A Premiership club is more likely to be able to offer a 5-year deal than a League 2 club for a Rotation player
Player age - The board should be more willing to sanction a longer term contract for a 26 year old in their prime opposed to a 34 year old coming towards the end of their career
Player injury proneness - The board should be more reluctant to allow a 5 year contract to be offered to a player with 3 previous cruciate knee ligament injuries than a player with a relatively clean bill of health. The players injury proneness stat is what is used to determine a players injury proneness.
Squad Status - A key player is more likely to be able to get a longer term contract than a backup player.
It might be worth noting that as you are playing in a low division, then it would be expected for the contract lengths available to be restricted.''

i visited the website listed in the title, he is some indian dude that runs a site selling illegal bootleg games. i can only assume that he doesn't realise how serious copyright infringement for profit actually is, otherwise he wouldn't be stupid enough to display his name and photo on the site.

i can't argue with his goalscoring record but his touch is awful, he's not good enough technically to be the main man at a top club, he's also lazy and has a bad attitude when things don't go his way.

i understand you couldn't send him back to the same feeder club, i was talking about sending him to another one. if you keep tabs on the feeder club's fortunes and see that they could go down and will have to terminate the loan then you can make plans ahead of schedule to deal with that situation, its your fault for not planning ahead. having done a little research i believe there is a rule when it comes to contract extensions which states that when it comes to players who are not currently eligible for a new work permit the player has to have played 70% of contracted teams first team games that he was available to play in for you to be able to extend his contract. (i can't find specific information about how long a period that takes into account, is it 70% of first team games over the past year or is it over the last 20 or 30 games that he was available to play, that i cannot answer). in any case he has not achieved that 70% figure so you can't extend his contract, and he has not played the required number of international games so he can't get a work permit, your only option is to release him and move on. i hope i have managed to clear things up for you...

players that are only playing u21 football are unlikely to be called up to senior international squad, they need to be playing regular first team football to get noticed, you yourself admitted that he was sitting in u21's for a season. he can't get a work permit because he hasn't played the required percentage of international games during the period he has been with you, i believe a player has to play 75% of international matches within the last 2 years to recieve a work permit and that is simply not going to happen when a player is only playing u21 football for a whole season. i don't think it would of mattered even if he had been called up to african nations squad, the ship had probably already sailed by that point as far as playing 75% of games is concerned. your mistake was bringing him back to your club and putting him in u21's for a season, you either play him in your first team, send him out again to another feeder club or sell him, putting him in the u21's achieves nothing. as for the reason why you can't extend his contract, you don't have an available feeder club to send him to, i believe that is the reason...

it is possible if you create your own custom database, you would have to use FM16 editor. open the original database in editor and go into the profiles of each player that moved in jan in real life, then give them a future transfer in january to the club in question, that way they won't move till jan. perhaps someone online already created this database so have a look, if not then you will have to do the work yourself...
