Also quick question regarding kits - do these kits overwrite the current season ones, or for example will they show up under the correct year when I view club history?

Not to sound dense here, but I am new to football manager - I thought there was no way to install/update goalkeeper kits or did I miss a memo somewhere?

I don't have anything to do with the updates but just wanted to point out that not all of a transfer fee will directly go back into a club as transfer budget etc. When you factor in operating costs, marketing, merchandising costs and the various other things involved with running a football club, the amount the board actually decide to put back into the club may be significantly less than what you have to play with. If anywhere, I'd imagine the £25/£30m or the net revenue of that (income - operating costs) has gone into the actual bank account figure for the budget of the club. Otherwise you'd have a lot of clubs further down the pyramid in both countries having silly money to play with.

Also note that you won't see these changes in the pre-game editor, but if you start a new game, select your club and go to the information, all of it should show there. I found this out the hard way.

You can also add your club badge and all of the other bits I mentioned above to the same folder if you want to add those items in-game

I'm quite new to FM myself and the configs took me some time to get my head around. Anyway, I'm going to assume that 20002080032 is the UID of the team you want to use? If not you first need to change it to match. Edit your config file and update it to the following:

For 2D Kits

Now your setup is entirely up to you. You can have all the files for the one club in one folder and just make a config will all those entires added, or you just need to add each of these entries to their respective folders.

My personal pathway is:

E:\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2023\graphics\my_creations\

I grouped them together by type rather than club, but it works either way.

Hi all,

I'm quite new to FM so don't know all of the ins and outs just yet. I use a lot of different data packs to enhance my game which has unfortunately led to duplicate entries. Is there any way (either using the pre-game or in-game editors or even with tools from an external source) that I could highlight these potential duplicate entires without having to wade through thousands of individual database records?

It depends how much free time and patience you have on your hands. You could use a site like http://www.transfermarkt.com and cross reference it with http://www.wikipedia.org to get the appearance stats and transfer values from the 2003/04 season but it will be quite time consuming.

The only other thing to do is maybe look for a different database from that time period.

Appreciated. I'll have a think about it and let you know. Incidentally, if a player is just retired and not really doing anything presently how do you address this? Do you create them simply as a retired person or do you make them a coach etc?

I also really wish there was a club ambassador type role available.

Ah that's a shame. You'd think there'd be a way to link them or a global database you can import the players you want from. I mean I'd mainly use it to do what you've done and add missing legends from my club (Portsmouth) and anyone else I realised was missing.

@Eloy Gabriel Nuñez this is fantastic as there are many people missing. Just to ask, how do you add someone from the FM database who isn't in the current game? For example if there's someone missing we particularly want to add who we can find in here? Are you able to provide the method used?

I've just started a new game with the latest update and have two versions of Ben Foster at Wrexham. One has his picture, the other does not. The one with the picture also has the correct squad number
