Right I can't deal with him and his quite simply clueless decisions whether they be tactical or player selection, he clearly has no idea what he is doing.

So I'm going to try and at least improve things for the fans, I'm in charge of player sales but I'll be leaving in coming transfers to my director of football and all other staff dealings. Will be the usual monthly updates also.

You don't get a key from Steam.

Anyhow, I figured out the issue. FM20 is 64 bit only and OS was 32 bit. Upgraded it to 64 bit and it's resolved.


I've never purchased anything directly from Steam so didn't know. Glad its now working.

Is there a problem, as I tried to browse the database and got a blank page, apart from the header?


Not sure why that is but may be due to any changes happening in preparation for FM20's database being added.

Have you purchased the game? You only get to play the beta if you have pre ordered fm20.

It'll technically work, but socks have an issue, sleeves will be the wrong way around on some kits with sleeve sponsors or different sleeves, shorts will be jumbled around and there'll be odd bands of different colours where the templates don't quite line up.


Shame as a bit more than I thought then, will still give them a go though.

Also keep the amazing work you lot do here (though it seems to have just got a bit harder)

Hi I can’t seem to find any contact details so I’m forced to write this here, last year I bought fm 2019 from you and I must have clicked the membership option too, now I never realized this was an automatic yearly renewal, please tell me what do I get with this? Is it relevant to fm 20?


@Footygamer will help you with a refund if you do not want to renew for this year. In PayPal you need to go subscriptions and cancel the payment to stop it.

I'm thinking of using the touch version to start a game, purely for speed of play. Plus the main feature announcements have been added and also rumour has it finally this will be the year that it has an editor

It may be hard coded in but if not you'll still have to probably wait until the full release to use the editor I'm afraid.

I tried to add facepack for fm20 but it doesn't work I followed the instructions (as usual)but I don't find the clear cache button. Anyone have the solution?

Certain there is a clear cache button in preferences you just to scroll, can't look at moment but certain I used it last night!

Everything in preferences is much harder to find now...

Do we have to start a new game after downloading this file(i think so). Will this be the case in the future ?

This was no problem before.


Yes I believe you will need to start a new save for it to work fully.

No patches won't effect a current save but you will need to reapply the fix if starting a new game after a patch update.

Doesn't work for me. Started the game and even started a savegame. Still not in the Documents-Folder.


Have you no Sports Interactive folders in My Documents even after starting a new game?

Is anyone else having issues with the data working? I’ve never had troubles before, but I am now. I’m figuring it’s to do with the BETA, as I can’t get my graphic mods to work either.


I'm currently copying mine over so will let you know when that's finished.

I don't know if this is effecting anyone elses game but I've just finished downloading the game and I was about to copy across the editor file data from this file, but I have no 'Football Manager 2020' folder under 'My Documents - Sports Interactive' ...
I have all the previous game folders there, just not this one ?


Usually you'll need to load the game up first to create the folders.

Apologies for the fright but we’re absolutely delighted to announce that the Football Manager 2020 Pre-Release Beta is now ready to download and install via Steam.

Anyone who has pre-purchased the game from a SEGA approved retailer can log into Steam and launch the game. For those that haven’t it’s not too late to get access to the pre-release Beta either; as anyone who pre-purchases FM20 on PC and Mac between now and the game’s release on Tuesday, November 19th (from a participating digital retailer) will see the Beta immediately added to their Steam library.

As always with Football Manager, you’ll find yourself fighting battles against blood-sucking money men, Frankenstein’s Monster centre-halves and strikers desperate to drive a stake into your team’s heart. Pit yourself against the horrors of a rainy Tuesday night against Stoke but remember, with failure you may find yourself joining a graveyard of other discarded managers.

As this is still a Pre-Release Beta you may find there are still a few gremlins which we’re still working on to address for full release. If you encounter any issues within the game, please do take the time to raise them via our Pre-Release Beta Bugs Forum. You can find a handy ‘Report Bug’ button on the in-game sidebar which links to the same forum.
