Upfront no, but his wages were reported to be £300k p/w when he was here, and any portion of that is too much money for him.

Even a tenner spent on Falcao is too much, but the reports did say that his wages were cut down drastically.

But Barcelona.. apart from Real there has been no real threat to their league wins until recently (Atletico), Barca job is definitely one of the easiest in world football. Simone has done a far better job than Guardiola in Spain.

They won the CL twice in four seasons.
You cant just say "but Barcelona" and fail to take into account what Barcelona was when he took over.

By 2019 he'll probably be retired or with the Italian NT imo.

Looks like we're running out of quality managers available post-Wenger though, scary thought.

He'll be 60. Bit early to retire?

Pfft, try 239. My BMI always comes back as morbidly obese, but to be honest I don't look fat even though I'm not particuarly toned, my resting heart rate is always around 50-60 which is close to what a professional athlete might expect so I'm a bit confused really.

Quite strange to think if I was a boxer I would be a super heavyweight.

Because Bond stole his father's attention away from him, yes. It's pretty common for children to hate younger siblings for that reason, Blofeld clearly has some combination of personality disorders that has aggravated that resentment.

Sure. Was it a fulfilling and worthwhile reveal and character motivation? Not for me.

Thats true for most bond films even the grittier Daniel Craig ones.

Take Skyfall, Silva's plan is literally pointless. Even if you take it that he wants to kill M face to face, every single thing that happens from the time that Bond gets to the island is completely pointless. There's no reason for him to let himself be captured, and the escape plan apparently reliant on Bond and Q decoding the thing at the second that M is in-front of a select committee. The less said about QoS the better, but in Casino Royale MI5's plan is stupid, too.

Well, maybe plan was the wrong word. What was Blofeld's end game?
Silva wanted to kill M. That was clear. His motives were clear.
Quantum of Solace was garbage, so let's not mention it, as you said.
Le Chiffre was basically just a whiney shit who was in a lot of debt.

I don't know what Blofeld wanted out of all of this. Did he want to kill Bond? I guess so, but he didn't actively try to do it. He wanted to rule the world with information? It's just silly.
The outrageousness and silliness of old school Bond clashed with the grit and "reality" (lol) of Craig's Bond, and it just made for an uneven mess of a movie.

That said, there are very good scenes in the film, and some of it works. It's just a mess.

Jesus. As you say it's no wonder why the players don't look bothered.

https://thejack.army/threads/monk-dyer-morgan.10189/ More info about it from Swansea fans. Seems that Martin Morgan is in general a complete shit.

His son was the ballboy who Hazard kicked. Who also looks like a complete shit.

So in the last 24 hours, you've watched 10 hours worth of films? You can't possibly have been able to take them in properly.

Anyway, Brokeback Mountain and Lives of the Others are infinitely superior to the other two. Moon is quite good, though.

And at least we're consistent, unlike Man Utd and Chelsea, who're both doing what Arsenal haven't done for nearly 20 years. Why? Because we have the best manager in the world, ever. Better than Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho combined.

Arsenal fans hatred for Mourinho is ridiculous. The man has won the league in every country he's been in. Won the Champions League with Porto and Inter, massive underdogs in the tournament. He has his faults, and he's rightly criticized for them, but no matter what happened this season, he's one of the best managers of all time.

Wenger has been a fantastic manager for Arsenal, but the same as Mourinho, he's also been rightfully criticized for his shortcomings. That's the way it is.

My thoughts on Rey after a second view.

I believe Rey is the daughter of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade who herself is force sensitive and if you read the expanded universes she was one of the inquisitors for Palpatine. Rey is a couple of years younger then Kylo Ren but bought up together, that would explain her knowledge of the Falcon. When Kylo goes all postal I reckon he killed Mara Jade and so to protect Rey Luke sends her off to Jakkuu and blocks her memories or something along those lines (can't be that far fetched can it).
Her weapon of choice is also a staff and she is pretty handy with it so the use of a lightsaber especially if she had some knowledge of how to use one would make sense.

Well ok so let's say she's a Skywalker which I can believe. Luke was a Skywalker. He was THE Skywalker. He still had to train. And his dad was the one cutting about in a death star wrecking everyone. Can't come from much stronger stock than that. And how does explain how she knows how to do a jedi mind trick? A hunch? Or how she had the strength to pull a lightsaber towards her from pretty far away over someone more experienced in the force and closer to the saber? Or how she's some sort of immaculate sword fighter with no training? Or how she knew how to fly and maintain the Millennium Falcon expertly despite never having left her planet before, let alone while being the pilot?
The argument is that she has lots of natural talent right? So she has enough natural talent to make her as skilled as Luke and Han rolled into one? If it was one thing, it wouldn't bother me. But she was perfect at literally everything she did the whole film. For me, that makes the other characters look weaker which isn't a good thing.

Back to Carrie Fisher's performance, I get what you're saying. I think Leia is a difficult character to slot into this new era anyway. I can get behind them making her a strong general but in this film she was really just a cameo.

How much was Luke trained before he pulled a lightsaber in Empire? Not much. Obi Wan put a helmet on his head and told him to feel the force. The Force is all about opening up and letting it in, which is what Maz Kanata told her to do. I get that some people find it bothersome, but I think with Rey we're looking at someone who's basically going to become one of the most powerful Jedi's of all time.

Also, I just don't think Carrie Fisher is a very good actress anymore. Too much alcohol and coke.

I've seen this criticism a lot round the internet and think its ridiculously unfair. And this is from someone who has problems with the film.

Firstly, we don't really know anything about Rey at all. From the first films we know that force sensitive people get training from a really young age, younger than when she was abandoned on Jakku. In TPM Qui-Jon and Obi-Wan have a conversation about how Anakin may be too old at 9 years old.

One of the most popular theories is that Rey is herself a Skywalker, and theres certain similarities between the plot to this film and the KOTOR games which feature a force user who's had their mind wiped, both could explain whats either tremendous natural talent, or ingrained teaching. Perhaps a combination of the two, either way, until we know what the explanation for Rey's ability is then we don't know if its a plot problem or not.

As for Ren, I think he's just being ridiculously over-rated in terms of his power. He's the only force user other than Luke knocking around the Galaxy, so he's almost certainly not fought a lightsaber battle before in his life, was quite clearly injured, was very raw himself -as per Snokes comments about him needing further training- was emotionally unstable and is certainly not big or bad yet. Just a moody angsty teenager with potential. The biggest problem I have is that Finn was able to go toe to toe with him, but perhaps that was actually meant as a demonstration of how weak Ren was, rather than how strong Finn is?

Finn didn't actually go toe to toe with him. He got a few shots in on an injured Ren, but Ren pretty much fucked him up when he felt enough was enough.

Well she didn't really get much screen time. I imagine she's going to be more involved later in the series. Out of interest, if you didn't like how she was portrayed, how would you have done it?

I'm not saying I thought Fords performance was bad, but I don't think the writing for Han was as good as it could've been. It felt like they used him to pander to the audience a bit too much. I said this to the person I went with too though and they said I was wrong so maybe that's how he's meant to be.

But with Rey...
The example that stick in my head the most was when she was captured and she just does a jedi mind trick to get released. But she doesn't even know she can use the force at this point. Kylo Ren tries to read her mind and can't so she goes "WELL I GUESS THAT MEANS I'M A JEDI" and she tries a mind trick. How would she even know what a jedi mind trick is? I assume you'd need some kind of training or something first or at least to practice it a bit? Maybe I'm misunderstanding how the force works but in this film she was a complete Mary Sue and it kind of ruined the film for me.

I still enjoyed it though, the lightsaber battles and action scenes were pretty choice. If I had to change anything about the ending, I would've had the baddie be about to kill Rey rather than the other way around at the end. Putting up a fight against him would've been impressive enough to make her look strong but winning the fight seems a bit weird.

It's not as much the way she was portrayed, as it was Carrie Fisher's performance. Wooden and stilted. A lot of her scenes were apparently cut out, so I guess the filmmakers felt the same as me.

I don't have a problem with Rey being awesome at everything, since she's clearly Luke's daughter.
