2017 WC Qualifying
WC Qualifying Table. First place! (Only good part to this story)
African Championship of 2018...out after the group stage
WC Group Stage..started off good, then de-railed completely as expected.
WC Group...was drawn into a pretty tough group. Was really happy after the 4-0 win over Peru, but then came the England game..
Overall...I did pretty terrible as the boss of Egypt. Hope to do better with England next time around.
SCORE
20 points for automatic qualification
-15 for group exit in African Championship
0 for WC Group Stage exit
Overall 5 points

Overall the season went really well. I was disappointed to be knocked out of the other Cups though. Definitely should have won the Toals Steel & Sons Cup but was knocked out in the Semis by a reserve side..same side I beat to reach the final of the Intermediate Cup so its all good, got them back!
Definitely looking forward to my next season in the Championship!
Next post will be an overview of other competitions around the world for the season.

I started as un-employed and quickly got offered the job at Dundela in the Northern Ireland Premiere Intermediate League which is the third tier in Northern Ireland. I took over just after the first pre-season game of the year.
Dundela have a pretty good set-up and I only brought in a few players, listed below
Next post will be the first season review.

- Update: I started un-employed and have now taken over Dundela in the Northern Ireland Premier Intermediate League. I've taken over during the pre-season so I've got some time to get my team and staff set.

15/07/2014 -- It was announced today that an unknown American coach by the name of Casey Crebs has been appointed the new manager of Real Oviedo, S.A.D. Crebs was quoted saying he is "very happy to join the team and can't wait to get started at Oviedo" earlier this afternoon at a press conference that took place at Nuevo Carlos Tartiere, the clubs 30,000 seat stadium in Oviedo. More to come on this breaking news later in the day.

Below you will see who I have chosen as my player of the season.
Melligan had a tremendous season for us. Unfortunately, he was injured for around 5 weeks near the end of the season. He might have done even better for us if it weren't for that.
Overall, we had a pretty good year. I'm pretty happy with this team and am looking forward to coming back next season even stronger. Its going to be a busy off-season for us though as all the players currently at the club will see their contracts run out at the end of June. Now I must sit down with my staff and figure out which players will be back next year and which ones wont.

December also saw a player depart the club, CB Lee Henderson. I was a little shocked when he handed the transfer request to me, but I agreed to let him go. We even acquired some money for him which was tremendous! He never made it into my match day squad so it really wasn't a hard decision to let him go.
Six more league games in the month of December and no cup games which was nice for sure. Still, we had a very congested last week in the league and the teams stamina sure suffered but we overcame that and ended the month nicely!
Also, not from the fixture list that we seem to have a player on fire right now! John Melligan scored eight goals for us over the course of the month, including four in one match! He also at one point scored four consecutive goals for the team over a two game period!
Below is the table. With the nice run at the end of the month we are back up to 12th in the league! The weak point for sure has been the dense, hopefully that will improve soon!
I figured I would take a moment to talk tactics. I used a 3-6-1 in that game I won 6-1 over Gloucester. I had to switch to using 3 CBs because my teams only LB was suspended for the match. Should I try using this tactic more often since it work so well in this game? Or should I continue to stick to my 4-2-3-1?
