I picked up on a couple of anomalies during some testing of the contract change…

Players who have had their data manually changed to “set for release” to reflect their real-life status have actually now got an “extra year” on their in-game contract.

Examples include, but not limited to:

Dan Neil (Sunderland)

Dan Barlaser (Boro)

Jacob Brown (Luton)

Callum Wright (Plymouth?)

There are others I am sure - I believe anyone with the status “exploring options at end of contract” need releasing. I suspect it's because we're in the period just prior to actual contracts expiring and the in-game date not being 2026 at start.

Maybe there's a mass correction that can be applied?

Noted the contracts/ages have been updated in the latest download (fm24) however, I'm noticing that the History file isn't updated and it's causing some issues wrt signing players where they often say “not interested/only just joined x club” when they've been there over a year (maybe its not linked to the actual history file but something else).

This will be because the contracts file hasn't been updated yet to +3.

Thanks for the England update already - however, doesn't the current +2 age & contracts now need to go to +3? 

Will the new Squad Cost Ratio be introduced, which is replacing PSR or is this only something that the main game can alter.

I noticed some existing staff roles have mysteriously changed in game, even though their data submission is correct.

For example the data submission correctly has Jim O'Brien (5209579) as the Under 18's Manager. However in-game (FM24 Update) he has become a First Team Coach. This has happened with multiple staff members across different clubs, which causes Youth Squads to have little or no staff and the First Team to have surplus coaches.

This is a great QoL update, thank you.

I am not quite sure I understand. What is a sharp position change?

The player I mentioned has team-mates whose positions have changed correctly, I just don't know why his hasn't. 

Wondering why the position changes have included some but not all… e.g. Gus Hamer (37050681) has AMLC in FM26 but is not reflected in the FM24 update.

This also happening at other clubs. It's inflating staff numbers and leaving youth teams with no staff!

Gustavo Hamer (37050681) has AMLC in his data, but in game it's still as it was in FM24.

I am using it in conjunction with SIO's Update.

So an update on the staff situation on the latest FM24 update.

Directors/owners are in place - though some are outdated… e.g. Manchester United has all the Glazers… Sheffield United have all the Saudi's still… so the FM24 update is not aligned with 2026's data.

Also interesting finding… George Willis (28059685) is supposedly the Under 21's Manager, in game he is a First Team Coach, causing the coaching staff to be inflated.

Likewise Jim O'Brien (5209579) is supposed to be the Under-18s Manager… same story as above.

Overnight the update has appeared to remove a U18s coach or two too…

Not sure if this kind of thing is happening across other teams as I tend to play as one.

Edit: Also noticed as has been mentioned elsewhere, the National Teams are now empty of staff.

@DoctorCopenhagen76  Are you on FM24 or 26? I noticed it yesterday with one player, Sydie Peck (2000108045) on the FM24 update, he's now a bang average U-21s player despite his data update stats….

To elaborate on the “random” aspect.

Every new save of FM24 (Enh.Up) most clubs seem to have a different random non-ID person as a Chairperson - seldom have i seen an owner, co-owner, a director etc. This happens irrespective of whether the real ownership structure changed between Fm24 and Fm26 (Where 24 didn’t have the new IDs). Obviously we cannot yet create new non-playing staff, but if we presume the FM26 data is correct, could it be as simple as transposing that across into FM24.

I will feedback tomorrow on your updates and where I can provide other examples to help I will.

As requested, some detail on the current Staff data issues found on the FM24 Enhanced Update.

I play as Sheffield United, so can generally only speak to them but I suspect these issues are across other teams.

• Owners/Chairman missing or random - SUFC have new owners, reflected correctly in the FM26 base game. However these have not been updated in the FM24 update. I have managed to set the MD correctly to Stephen Bettis which is now shown in my FM24, though he does not have a “profile” to view. I am not sure if it is possible to have the current ownership IDs (Steven Rosen 2000434156 Helmy Eltoukhy 2000434157) brought over from FM26 correctly without having to do this all manually for every club. Meanwhile, the previous Saudi owners are now available to recruit as unemployed non-playing coaches! It seems most, if not all, clubs have got the randomly assigned ownership structure. I also don't know how this affects things like takeovers or whether that would just be a cosmetic thing.

• Secondary Roles - Some staff (e.g. Tom Little 29024887) have mysteriously gained a secondary role having never had one previously, nor has anyone submitted a data change. I suspect this is due to something in FM26 data but I have not confirmed this.

** Note this issue is okay, but ought to be evidence based…

• Random New Staff - (e.g. Mekhi Haughton-Parris 2000199180) is now a coach in the FM24 update. Aside not a current coach, nor having ever been a coach, he is also unable to be edited in the data so it is somewhat of a mystery how this change has occurred. Something FM26 related?

I hope this helps, as I say it's no gamebreaker but having Rodney Trotter set your objectives for the season and being able to sign a Saudi Prince as First Team Coach is a little odd!

However, where an ID exists in FM24 but not in FM26 (e.g. Jota, Baldock), the current FM24 enhanced data update has, for some reason, reverted to including them having previously been removed and now they are unable to be edited.

Jota is a coach on £140k p/w at Liverpool!

This answers some of my suspicions, thanks FG. Assume this is the same as if wanting to remove someone (in FM24), if they aren't in FM26 then they will reappear back in the FM24 update if they were indeed in FM24.

Is there a plan to seperate the DB's at all? There are obviously lots of issues related to the data “merge”, staff probably the biggest.

Can someone explain why this has happened?

I checked on my save, and he is not listed on BCFCs staff at all. I made the change in the data update for you, see if it's on the next drop.

I managed to change a similar thing for SUFC by setting Stephen Bettis back to Managing Director (on the data update) and it was updated for the FM24 download… maybe try it with Tom Wagner…but if he doesn't actually exist in FM24 then idk if it will work.

Think it's been mentioned elsewhere but the ownership/chairmen/directors seem to be largely random now (on FM24), with personnel from previous FM24 updates missing.

Coupled with staff roles being changed or in some cases staff having now more than one role, it seems as if there's a partial merge with FM26 data.

Unless I'm mistaken, new data submissions to clubs/staff/players are actually only applicable where the data exists in FM26.

For example, per my previous post, I cannot change any data for George Baldock as he doesn't exist in FM26, yet he has appeared back in the latest FM24 update - i receive this error: 

"Unavailable

George Baldock is not available to edit in 26.0. They were last seen in 24.3."

The other thing I noticed when starting a new save (FM24) is some points deductions were not applied (Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship for example). Their transfer embargo is applied however, just not the points deductions.

29063519 is his FM ID.

Last time I was playing (admittedly a few months ago) he had been removed but now appears to be back in, though I cannot find him in the search function of the update on here which is odd.

George Baldock appears to be back in the update for Sheffield United after passing away whilst playing for Panathinaikos. Please have him removed again. (And RIP Georgey)
