If you get a fit James Vaughan you'll have a player who is 100% committed to the cause. Powerful, quick, scares the life out of defenders. I remember watching him rip Roger Johnson to shreds against Wolves a few years ago in one of the most awesome individual performances I've seen, and in his first 18 months with us he was a genuinely prolific striker. On the other hand, he picks up bookings like confetti, along with picking up silly red cards when he rises to bait. I personally think he's finished as a professional - he's had too many injuries and his body can't take it any more, so from that point of view he's a real risk. He's not scored since a header against Ipswich the season before last, which means he's scored only 7 times in almost 3 years, since a penalty against Burnley in November 2013.

Sounds epic, looking forward already!

Fucking hell state of some clubs. Makes Bury FC look like we're run as good as Apple or McDonalds.

I do feel for clubs like Blackburn, Blackpool, Charlton though. Can't imagine who it must be like to hate your owners so much that you scrap football altoghther.

Lost 0-1 vs Owdhum today. Haven't won at home against them since 1967, so there was little hope in first place which was backed up by a truly ABYSMAL match. Genuinely awful. From start to finish, from defence to our attacking front, just pure dross.

Drew 0-0 at Coventry last night. Played decent and should have won, but we are lacking a striker who just the simple things right and puts the ball in the net. That was the kind of thing Leon Clarke used to do but since he is gone we are lacking this sort of player. If we can get one of these players we will win this type of games but overall we are doing alright i guess

Lost 2-1 at Gills. Game was already lost at the start imo. Ismail and Mayor changed the whole Charlton game when they came on and FLitcroft doesn't start them. Baffling. Went down pretty quickly and played catch up all the time. Went 2-0, Pope got one back, had chances to equalize (Gills had chances to make it 3-1 aswell) but didn't take them. Draw would have maybe been a fairer result but Gills will be up there and they're a decent side, so not worry too much about that

Well, lost 3-2 at Burton after extra time. Not that disappointed, played decent, took a Championship side to extra time and could have won it. Only thing that bugs is me that we could have drawn Liverpool at home if he had won but nevermind.

I'd just like to say that 1.523 in attendacne is piss poor laughable for a Championoship side. Disgraceful

I was trying to entertain myself amid our crapitulation. Conceded after 23 seconds, deserved to get level, but then no pattern, individual mistakes, and we're out after a total loss of concentration. Should have noted how poorly we were playing amid the Ivan the Terrible joke

Also, eight Yorkshire clubs out tonight. Sheffield Wednesday deserve it for having a reserve goalkeeper wearing 2, but blimey. What witchcraft is this?

Epic! Can I please book for the next 40 odd games where we might actually crash and I need cheering up? Preferably starting tomorrow when i'm at Burton for our game?

For the first time in English football two Ivans (Toney and Paurevic) have been substituted on at half-time. Terrible.

Beat Charlton 2-0 at home. Very pleased with that. Would have snapped someones hand off for a draw, let alone a win!

First half was pretty dull. Loads of hoofballing, no real organisation or anything, we looked a bit better but that wasn't very difficult. Second half, Chalrton started off better, but just didn't create anything. Flitcroft then brought on Mayor and ismail to replace Clark and Hope and that changed the game. We got into and started shifting the balance a bit. Neil Danns converted a stonewall pen for our 1-0 lead and Kelvin Eutuh made it 2-0 just before the end.
Very good performance all around. Looked very solid at the back, Williams looked alright in goal, Kay partnered Cameron well at Centre Back with Jones & Leigh doing alright at fullback. Our midfield looked strong with Mellis and Danns in it, really impressive. Attitude and commitment was spot on today. Hope this continues.

Also made two further signings. Chris "Zero Goals" Brown joins after his release from Blackburn and Paul Rachubka joins as backup keeper as we terminated Kirkland's contract due to personal problems

If we're going to replace a striker who's scored 19 goals last season with someone who's scored 19 goals in all his career then god help us.

Also heard Adam Le Fondre as a rumour but I suppose that's WAY out of our league. Fucking hell it's a bit grim atm

Only half of that is for the player, really. The rest is just to eliminate their last remaining title rival.

There's really no way that Napoli could replace the 20-35 goals Higuain would have given them. There's barely any strikers capable of scoring 10 goals on the market, getting one who could score 20 will be impossible.

They are apparently kicking the tires on Icardi, but there's no way that transfer actually happens. They should go after Bacca and Lacazette too, but again, there's no way that they'd actually sign them.

Well the second part I find interesting because all depends on what ADL does now. As it stands there are plenty of things to be considered if/when Higuain goes through (or is confirmed to put it that way)

I just cannot see Sarri go for a striker like Bacca. Yes, he is a good striker and would defo score goals in this Napoli side but I just don't think he's the type of player Napoli is looking for. Think Sarri would be looking at someone else.

Icardi? I think I heard Inter are willing to sell if someone offers around 55 Mil€, DiMarzio reported that Napoli are offering 50 + addons. Good player and already has bags of experience and is proven but he and especially his wife come across like two reyt cunts and I can't believe ADL and Sarri would tolerate this kind of behaviour.

Lacazette? On paper looks the perfect fit but might a bit difficult after the Gonalons saga to hire Lyon's star player. His skills are undeniable but I can't see Aulas himself letting him go unless someone pays really silly money.

Milik? Has potential, knows where the back of the net is but to me is a bit of a gamble. Quite unproven at top level football (Serie A > Eredivisie and all that) and 32 Mil is still quite a heavy price tag (although not that big if you consider prices payed elsewhere). He is about to sign if reports are to be believed but I remain scpetic of his "true" potential. However I don't really believe if Milik was to sign that would be it regarding transfers upfront (maybe Icardi and Milik as some sort of "luxury sub"?)

Which leads to the last question. What about Gabbiadini? Is he going to stay or not? In what way will Sarri use him? I for one rate him quite highly, so I think just signing one or two strikers and shift out Gabbiadini would be a bit harsh. Questions over questions.

I guess Napoli will go on and sign Tolisso now (disregarding former Aulas - ADL "encounters" and sign Milik at some point. But for me the "real" battle awaits when Koulibaly was to move. Agent clearly being a massive twat on that one so very interested to see how that one is developing

The drama continues...Oystons claim no one is interested in buying the club hence why they won't sell, newspapers then report anonymous bid was made to buy the club and ground for £10mill last Wednesday. Looks like more lies from our owners. When will they take their money and go?!

Football wise, I think have signed some crap goalkeeper from Oxford United.

also signed some crap player from us. Joking asidde, Pugh is finshed at L1 level but might do alright in L2.

Neil Danns has signed for us today after being on trial. Should be a decent signing. Only concern I'm starting to have right now is that our squad seems to be quite old. Should be looking at youngsters to bring in on loan because at this rate our average age must be something like 29 or so

Well, today we let Peter Clarke, our player of the season, leave and join Oldham. Whilst I tihnk that this is just incredibly stupid, we were quick to react and signed Leon Barnett from Wigan. I actually think that mgiht be a good deal. Bags of experience and I sued to think he was quite good when fully match fit, so that's a bit uplifting

Yep, I'm at a stage of life where i just don't care anymore and even go to shit uselss pre season stuff

EDIT: While you're here: We also had a young CB called Sam Lavelle on trial. He was at Blackburn as far as i know. What's he like? Played today, but hard to judge when his partner at CB is Chris Sedgwick and a 17 year old CM is at RB and 16 year old at LB which went on to cause complete carnage

Well, we lost to Blackburn and got thrashed by Morecambe in some sort of mini pre-season competition today, but since half of our squad was "injured" I'm not too fussed about that.

More interestingly were the names who appeared as trialists today.

Richard Chaplow, Neil Danns, Mickey Demetriou. Danns I think was good, the other two decent but interesting to see the likes of Danns and Chaplow amongst us. Would be happy to sign them given past reputation

We've signed someone else with at least one more imminent. Definitely signed is Jon Gorenc Stankovic from Borussia Dortmund, a 20-year-old central defender. Fee around £500,000. Imminent (or so it seems) are Danny Ward and (I'm taking this one with a pinch of salt) Brad Smith on loan from Liverpool. Also apparently imminent is Hoffenheim striker Mark Uth, who scored 8 times in 25 Bundesliga games last season, who rumour has it was walking around Canalside this morning. Might be another Terodde of a rumour, to be honest, but he does look a big lad and the sort of player we need to give us something a big different up top as well as being quick and good on the ball.

This summer feels like it's getting silly. I've actually lost track of how many we've brought in and I've not heard of half of them, if I'm honest. Hard not to get excited about it, but we are a work in progress despite the transfer activity. An overhaul of the defence in particular was needed, and it's likely that the only survivor from last season's regular back 4 and goalkeeper will be Tommy Smith. The thing is that I along with most Town fans trust Wagner more than previous managers, and it's clear Dean Hoyle trusts him more as well. A top half finish would be a good season. Play-offs feel achievable. It all feels so much more positive than last year, when Kyle Dempsey was our big summer signing.

Hudds' signings kind of make me believe that this is gonna go very right or very bad. No inbetween.

Fruther, it reminds me of when Di Canio took over Swindon, signed a shitload of Italians and foreigners, who all turned out to be quite shit and literally bought the league in the winter transfer window

Our kits been released aswell. Quite like the home kit, looks similar to our 2012/13 kit, minus the yellow back then. The away kit looks alright to me, although I'm not a big fan of chaning the colours of your badge just so it fits into the kit style. Goalie kit looks decent, wouldn't have minded that as our away kit.

Got 3 points from our 2015/16 season dedeucted because SOMEHOW we managed to field an ineligible player. Speaks volumes what kind of gyppos run our club. How the flying fuckety fuck is that acceptable at any sort of professional football?!?!

Also our CEO gave an interview yesterday, saying we're under no pressure of selling players like L.Clarke and Riley and today Riley left for Shrewsbury. Lolz.

BUT, we signed a full back today. Greg Leigh joins from Bradford. 21 years young and a former City youngster, who spent time on loan at Crewe aswell. Happy days innit
