Sergio Aguero has been banned for three games meaning he misses the Manchester derby.

Glad Sissoko has fucked off as he clearly had no interest in playing for Newcastle again, hope the £30m is all upfront and not in instalments. If Tottenham get the Sissoko of the last Premier League campaign (and not Euro 2016) then Spurs have been mugged. Shame we didn't have time to get another winger in but did finally complete the loan signing of Christian Atsu with a few to buy.

Tiote remains a Newcastle player though...for now.

Still no conformation that Christian Atsu has joined on loan, yet.

But on a more positive note, that chancer Emmanuel Riviere has finally departed the club - joined Osasuna on loan. Cheick Tiote's move to Galatasaray has broken down after he apparently failed his medical but will probably still depart the club and Tottenham won't meet Newcastle's £30m outright for Moussa Sissoko, which is annoying as he needs to leave due to reportedly having no interest in playing in the Championship.

Adam Armstrong has gone out on loan to fellow Championship side, Barnsley until January.

Sunderland sign Didier Ndong Ndbungalow.

Can't say I have ever heard of him, £13.6 mill though! Not sure another midfielder was what they needed.

Jeremy Menez has heard of him. When he made his Bordeaux debut, he had a chunk of his ear taken out by Ndong, accidentally.

Probably nothing in it, but I've seen us linked with Lazar Markovic today on either a loan or permanent deal.

It's almost a done deal. Four year contract, undisclosed fee - subject to approval from the relevant football authorities.

Proof.

Indeed.

As for other NUFC lines, Atsu & McManaman have been linked as ins (probably a good thing we don't have John Carver anymore given he tried to throttle the latter in 2013), while Tiote has reportedly failed 2 medicals in Turkey.

You left out the "massive" news - Riviere could be departing the club. Been linked with Osasuna.

Cheick Tiote looks set to be the latest player to leave Newcastle this summer and good riddance. Been reported with a link to Galatasaray but apparently he's also got offers from Russia, China, the UAE and interest from Hull City - according to the Chronicle as he's no apparent interest in playing in the Championship.

Erm, as for the signing, its an interesting one. Hopefully we get the one who was the league's top scorer in 2014/15, and not the one who scored only a handful last year. Could be a decent back-up option all the same.

Unless Mitro and Gayle get injured, I can't see him getting much football which isn't a bad thing at his age but should be, as you said, a decent back-up option. I would now expect Adam Armstrong to depart the club on loan although I would've preferred to see him get some game time for Newcastle this season in the Championship.

Unless he's injured, can someone please sign Emmanuel Rivière or can we release him?

Reports from Italy are suggesting we're going to sign Palermo left back Achraf Lazaar, speculation that it's a fee of £2.5m. Gael Bigirimana apparently has become the latest departure at St. James' Park, an agreement was reportedly reached on his remaining ten months of his deal and he's signed a one year deal at Coventry and that's a shame as he wasn't given a chance in the last season or two.

Shane Duffy has joined Brighton from Blackburn, undisclosed fee.

I'm hoping he scores a treble of own goals on Saturday, presuming he makes his debut.

Former Rangers man Dean Shiels, released when his contract had expired, has joined League of Ireland side Dundalk.

Oh and Sporting Lisbon are the other team in Group F.

Did he ever even play? You've certainly made some odd signings from Ligue 1 the last few years.

Aye but he only played a few games after joining us, a reported fee of £5m as well ffs. Due to the recent flops, I'm hoping we're done signing players from Ligue 1 as apart from perhaps Yohan Cabaye, the rest of them have been expensive and disastrous.

That attendance would have been correct, Crewe had about 500 and the stand this picture was taken from had by far the most in it. The little one opposite was closed for tonight.

Still though, it's a seriously sad state of affairs; stands closing, lowest attendance since 1986, real shame to see Rovers in this current state.

How come the "Rovers" stand was closed for the Crewe game?

It's a shame Dundalk couldn't make it into the group stages but they didn't disgrace themselves against Legia and at least they've got the Europa League group stage cushion to fall back on - now they can get back to winning ways domestically.

Think what you mean pal is . . . "B36 are not the worst team to manage, yeah, good luck with this ."
