tried with removebg and photopea, still a bit blurry. Image looked ok until resized. Understand if you reject, but some pointers as to where I'm going wrong would be great.

I'm Gozitan myself, so I know what I'm talking about…

Please keep an eye out for my submissions then, I have about 290 researched players from the islands to add. They are on my steam database but I would love for more people to have access to them. Some are very basic, so I'm not sure if they'll be accepted. I have worked with the Malta and Gozo FA's, some clubs, some footballers or their family members and even some Maltese/ Gozitan FM players to compile the information over the past two months and am updating all the time (when not working). I am not from the islands, however they hold a special place with my family, I am just one person trying to promote them and their football teams though FM(26).

It's a question of finding the best possible sources. Typing More Fanega into Google Images led me to this source image.

 

This thread contains guidelines for what we're looking for in our cuts in terms of dimensions, snow, collars, face orientation etc. and video tutorials for each element. If you want to give cutting another go, I would recommend using remove.bg, which is a free online tool which removes the background to an excellent standard, for free and almost instantly.

 

Here's a couple of videos on how to use it, one when combined with Photoshop and another using photopea.com, which is a free online app so close to Photoshop that it has the same shortcuts, layout and icons. If you don't have Photoshop, photopea.com is the tool I would recommend to use to tweak the draft cut produced by remove.bg. It's more powerful and versatile than GIMP and other similar tools.

 

 

 

Thank you, I will look into this, although most of the terms used make no sense to me (snow etc). I am working with the clubs to get better PNG picture, be very careful using google etc to find images of Maltese or Gozoian players, they can often be of the wrong person.

Just because they're from official sources has no bearing on whether they're large or good enough. The guidelines to uploading images specifically provide guidance on how to find the best possible sources:

 

  • If you're having difficulties in finding a good source image, have a look in this thread for some hints and tips on how and where to find the best possible sources for your requests. If the images found are still small, then consider whether it is worth requesting it at all. A 120x120 image from the chin upwards, for example, will be too small to consider cutting as it will only provide a blurry mess of pixels and won't be representative of what a person looks like.

 

The problem is there is very little information on players from Malta and Gozo, often several people have the same name. I found both FA sites to be the most credible and most have PNG files. It’s very hard to find a good quality picture that isn’t either a jpeg or the wrong person. I am working with the clubs to get better pictures in PNG format , whilst I wait for these, I’ll try out some of the recommendations you guys have provided. Hopefully then I’ll have better pictures and you guys can help me promote Maltese and Gozoian football

No, "game ready" is for cuts that are ready to be added to the game; it's correctly listed as a source. It's just that the source pic is bad, which is why I rejected it.

 

Well I’ve tried to crop and enlarge them, they just go fuzzy. The source photos from Malta FA aren’t the greatest to start off with and I’m not very good with photoshop. That’s why I thought you guys could help. No matter what I try the source photo always ends up fuzzy, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

so i should make it game ready? I want to get this right, I have worked with Malta and Gozo FA over the past two months and have published my database on steam under mymelliehascfmstory. I have done my own face packs for my database piggy backing off the cut out face pack, however users have found my face packs don't populate properly. Therefore I thought I'd turn to you guys to help

Really? The face pack ones are 250x250 and I did say it's source and not game ready
