Yes that is certainly true for this person. But found it easier to quickly enlarge the old photo.

I use GIMP.
And then I take a picture and make the background transperant.
Then I use the lasso tool, then I glue the face in a 180x180 frame and scrape the head so that it fits with the cubic tool.
