Just hit five thousand words, fucking delighted. Might have a wank to celebrate.

Could be useful material for the final chapter.

Not in FM2012 they aren't, at least not with the latest sponsors etc.

They're in FM13 though.

Arsenal take the first set 7-5, play stopped due to bad light and will resume on centre court tomorrow.

This was the second set. First set was 6-1. Arsenal to win the League Cup in straight sets.

Something's not right here. Pretty clear corruption of the referees, it's obvious. No red card and 5.5mins of stoppage time to score. Offside goal on Saturday too. Absolutely sickening.

Watch it again. As he's going down the Everton player accidentally stands on his standing leg. If you can't agree with that, I'll accept you're blind.

I've only seen it live with one replay and it just looked like classic Gerrard starfish action and then Moyes also commented on it after the game, but if it was a foul then fair enough, like I said I've only seen it once.

By chokosc | Permalink | On 30 October 2012 - 05:28 AM
1 - I didn't say he was 100% biased, just that most of his decisions (the bad ones) went United's way...

2 - And how can you say that we were sliced apart? Seriously, after 20 minutes you guys were no where to be seen on the pitch! You did absolutely nothing after your two goals. Did you just go after you went 2-0 up? You were lucky the de Gea had a really good game, or else you would have been 4-2 by half time...

3 - And I have a question for you... How come Rooney wasn't sent off? He made more than enough fouls to get himself a second yellow card.

1 - you basically said the only way he could've made his decisions was if he was biased and you suggested he did stuff on purpose
2 - you were 2-0 down after 10 mins, we scored with basically our first attacks and your flanks were totally exposed. When we started sitting back you gained momentum and got back into the game.
3 - he wasn't sent off because Sir Alex Ferguson is an evil timelord who controls the FA, UEFA and FIFA and he ensured that Mark Clattenberg (the famous Man Utd fan and Chelsea hater) was in charge just to make it possible for us to win.

It's exactly the same tackle as Mikel's on Valencia.

Apart from Valencia was breaking into the box.

Just saying going on the basis of having a good tournament at the u19's then Suso should be on the list too considering he had a very good tournament as well. I'm not going on a big defensive about Liverpool here as personally I'm surprised Sterling and Shelvey are on the list considering they've only come to the fore this season, even if they undoubtably have been very good in the games they have played.

Jese didn't just have a good tournament, he was by far the standout player. The Euro u19s is not exactly a major tournament so they're not going to pick every player who looked decent. Jese is the only one of that Spanish team to get nominated for the award. Suso was good but so were many of the Spanish players.

That gif actually makes it look less like a foul Due to Ivanovic looking like he's trying to jump out of the way \o/ Also, that's not clipping him. From my understanding, clipping someone's heels is swiping so one of their heels hits the other, not just touching their heels.

It was obviously gonna be a red card. But it's not the clear and malicious foul that you are making it out to be

Malicious, are you joking? Every time I've said Young played for it. Doesn't mean it wasn't a foul though.

When they use the phrase 'clipped heels' in horse racing do you think they mean one horse intentionally swiped the one in front to gain an advantage? No, it just means one touches the other causing it to fall. Don't see why it's different in football.

So did Suso, who's also played more first team games but isn't on the list

Ok. Not sure what you're getting at though? I'm just offering a reason as to why Jese got nominated seeing as it's being questioned.

He was the star of the tournament, top scorer and scored the winning goal in the final.

Clipped his heels, clipped his ankles, hardly any difference. Ivanovic left knee made contact with Youngs left foot causing him to fall. It was a foul. Young made sure he was fouled. It was still a foul.

I think it's fair really, a lot of the players on there have made little impact at first team level but have shown potential. Shelvey is vastly overrated by the media in this country but to be fair to him he's come in and scored a few goals and not really looked out of place (especially in the Europa League) so he's bound to have made an impression.

Funniest thing about the Gerrard quotes is that he dived for the freekick that led to the disallowed goal. So lacking in self-awareness.

By chokosc | Permalink | On 29 October 2012 - 15:14 PM
The fact that Young went down and got the free kick doesn't surprise me. In those situations, it usually goes with the attacker. Although I can't say anything like that especially after the way Cuntenburg refereed yesterday. Young had less contact (can barely be seen in a close up replay so how Cuntenburg saw it is beyond me) so how he didn't get called for diving could be one of two things:

1. Because he was clearly through on goal and he fell, Cuntenburg decided that it has to be a foul because a goal isn't enough for United.
2. The obvious reason which I won't state because I will just start everything again.

Yet when it comes to Torres, who also had the opportunity to go on goal (of course not as obvious as Young because he had to be faster than Rio and De Goat to the ball) but he assumed that it was a dive. Why he did that is beyond me and just shows how terrible / biased he is...

You're insane (and about 12 judging by the childish names)

If Clattenburg was biased;
Why didn't he send Ivanovic off earlier for his two-footed foul on Evra? (He gave Chelsea a throw-in instead. )
Why didn't he send Torres off for kung-fu kicking Cleverley?
Why did he book Valencia for diving instead of booking Mikel (and then sending him off) for body checking him?
Why did he allow Ramires to commit countless fouls without booking him even once?
etc etc

Young played for the foul but he clearly got his ankles clipped and it was as clear a foul as you'll get. Ivanovic knew it too.

Chelsea were 2-0 down after 10 minutes and were getting sliced apart at will. They'd do well to focus on that rather than blaming the referee for all their problems.

Exactly. End of story. Therefore never ever a red card.

But everyone's taking this decision and the goal in isolation and making out Clattenburg is corrupt. He got loads of decisions wrong, he had a bad game in a difficult atmosphere. Even without Torres' redcard Chelsea could still have had 3 players sent off and we could've had two penalties.
