Really puzzled how we haven't moved and Qatar have jumped above us. Frustrated and angry all at the same time.
Our club's rep in China is ever improving. Hopefully we will push for the top couple of places over the coming seasons.
I'm confused, we are doing better but the league is not shifting but somehow we have more qualifications spots as a result. Weird.
Quite a remarkable leap in attendance.

We played some very fair football and it was pleasing that we won this award.
For now no deal.
Hopefully someone with money will come in.

Dongya on the second season stint is about improving on the first and showing progression. Always believe when I take on these mini projects it is all about what I achieve in my second season. I started off well last season with a bit of progress made. This season sees the added dimension of the Champions League, a favourite competition of mine, but this squad is arguably one of my weakest squads ever to grace the competition. Outside of that, it looks to be a final hurrah for one of my Australian World Cup Winners and with finances getting worse by the day, it looks like it could well be trouble in paradise for me.
An impressive start to the league campaign meant we kept in good distance with Guangzhou Evergrande. Yet draws would eventually catch up with us. Draws against Chengdu and Beijing back to back gave the advantage to Guangzhou Evergrande. Yet a point gained is one that is not lost and all of that. Best result came against Llaoning smashing five goals past them. Impressive to say the least. Really I can't put a place where we lost the league. The loss at the hands of Shanghai was bitterly disappointing and then failing to beat Guangzhou Evergrande at all did not help. Got to beat them if we want to win the league.
CFA Cup saw get that ever so important win over Guangzhou Evergrande. An emphatic 7-3 victory on aggregate and defended our crown. Victory over Shandong was also crucial as they are always there or there about and could really upset the apple cart. However it was not to be form them.
Super Cup saw us conquer Guangzhou Evergrande but we relied on penalties. In truth we could have easily lost the tie, Guangzhou Evergrande were by far the better side.
A tale of what could have been. We rode our luck but we also made our own. Beating Al-Shabab on away goals was amazing, considering how strong their squad is, we got away with a marvellous win. Persepolis again we relied on the away goals to see us through and it was then that it dawned on me that we could go all the way. However we had to conquer the reigning champions for the last three seasons of South Korea, Chungju. Sadly it was not to be. We held them as best as we could in the first round. At home we suffered an early red card and the dream was over. Not bad, disappointing as always to lose any final but we will be back next season.
Very much a strong squad. Dino was clear a strong player for us. Jiajun is going to a be a real good striker for us. We are probably weakest down at full back so will look to be addressing this are if I can during the next transfer window as well as someone to play in the hole.
Some good deals going out that brought us some much needed cash. The sail of Yue will eventually rise to £500k and provided much of our income from transfers. All the deals incoming were frees. I had little money at the time and I feel this is the best policy I should use.
Yes, you better believe it. The finances look strong. The successful campaign on all fronts meant things really boosted for us. Success in the later rounds of the Champions League saw crowds come in their thousands to the stadium and earning us over £400k each time game. That is something I need to ensure happens again this coming season. If I can draw the crowds to league games also it will also help increase the budget so I can improve the facilities and playing squad.
Key Player Profiles:
This guy, unreal. I am so gutted he won't be continuing with us next season. Came to me say he wants to finish in Australia and I have granted him his wish. Despite his age he has been tremendous, managed him better in terms of injuries this season and the goals and assists he provided this season were valuable to our success. It was ever so gutting I could not bring him the AFC Champions League title in one of his final outings for the club. However, I have a replacement, another familiar name to me and followers. Dino the Australian Pirlo, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man.
Phongsura has been a real steal. Signed on a free and has provided some good international experience at the back. He has a strong physical presence and that has been crucial for us. With some of the youngsters coming through, I might well look to cash in on him soon.
Wang our main striker is going to be a club legend if he fills his potential. I am looking forward to see how he progresses next season for us.

Next Season
I see it as a successful season here. Really happy. Lot of progress made. The league will be another tough affair, Guangzhou Evergrande have a monopoly on it. They are buying the talent out from underneath me and others. So I am living of the scraps. However as this season proved that is not such a bad thing. Although their interest in players quickly disrupts harmony amongst my squad. However we can really push in the Champions League. Guangzhou Evergrande seem to fail quite terribly here, so this is where we can capitalise on them. We have a real good chance and look out for my young goalkeeper, a Chinese copy of Frank Duffy. I will post more about him later or so.

Odds in Asian football count for nothing at times haha. I hope money is around the corner, never had a take over thats given me money!
Tribute at last paid to my man Clint Dempsey. He's been with me for quite a while, he's the guy who has understood the philosophy and been able to motivate the players when needed.

Top two youth candidates will be signed and I am surprised we have produced anyone of note with the facilities. Zhou Gen is rated but he doesn't look that good, he will have an eye kept on him to see how he progresses.

I hope so too, but I'm not quite sure we have the squad capable to do just that yet.
Cheers man. Going to need it.
At 5-1 we are worth a punt at best. I don't feel we have the quality throughout the squad to become champions yet. Lot of youngsters who have not developed yet and some ageing players who still need to be shifted on.
Board giving me the support I need.

Ensure all the files are put in the editor folder. Take out the ones in the .rar folder too.
When you start a new game, ensure that you select all the files that you have added (on mine it does it automatically). There is an option that you select when you are selecting what DB you want to use, either the default or 15.3.0.

So the league has not moved at all. The greatest shock is the South Korean one. Seoul won the Champions League and so they have jumped to first, find that hard to believe because in the past that has never happened when I have managed in certain nations. Saudi Arabia for instance comes to mind.
Overachievers and we are setting ourselves the goal of finishing higher than 4th for the forthcoming season.
Fans came to see what the fuss was about. Hopefully next season they will continue to flock and stick. We have 52,000 seats to fill.

Dongya are a club that have been under achievers in Chinese football for far to long. Since their formation they have always looked to push themselves, but have often found themselves lagging in mid table. Even when they hired Sven-Göran Eriksson he could not topple the might of Guangzhou and the rest. The club have wanted to pride themselves of the quality of youngsters they produce, but as I earlier showed, they are not producing anyone. The simple answers to why can be traced to the nature of the club. The club have quite clearly had mediocre managers who have just managed the club for the money and not really care about the club's ethos and all that. The second blame must be put firmly at the door of the owner. He has allowed mediocrity to continue to spread in the club and just be comfortable with living in the CSL without pushing themselves to the top. The vision is clear to why I am here. I am back to begin to break the monopoly of Guangzhou in Chinese football, not only this. I am here to ensure that Shanghai becomes the dominant city in Chinese football. This is the final part of the journey, Dongya is only part one of it.
A very good start was made to my comeback in the CSL. Some good results there in particular the 4-4 draw against the might of Guangzhou. Our first game against neighbours Shanghai saw us losing in a disappointing defeat. But we did tend to score big in the bigger games, however at times it seemed that we took for granted the lesser sides. Something I will be looking to address next season. The second half of the season saw us start really well. Yet it will be blemished by what happened in the final four games. Blowing a two goal lead against Qingdao was the beginning of the end and the players never recovered. Despite motivating them as best as I could, some of the real big players gave up. They are unlikely to feature next season. Thet will be sold off if I can. The results against Guangzhou, Shandong and Beijing were hard to take. I was really disappointed in the way it went down and for that I cannot forgive some.
11 points behind the eventual champions. What is pleasing to see is that our goal difference is amongst the best in the league. The disappointment of losing the final four games cost us the title. Gutting to say the least.
It was a fantastic achievement to win this trophy. Yet it quite clearly almost did not happen. It required a miracle in the second leg against Beijing. In the most amazing of circumstances we buried four goals that saw us move on in the competition thanks to the away goal rules. The football was grand but then it should never have gotten to that stage. We were disappointing in the first leg against Beijing. The ultimate wobbly was given to the players. I could only tell them that they had let everyone down. They responded, and bravo to them.
The squad did well, we suffered from heavy injuries throughout the season. We possess some quality and it looks like the big boys in the league are going to poach our experienced players away from us. Good for them, and I hope they do. These are the ones that let me down.
Deals on frees was the main source of activity. It will continue to happen, but hopefully in the coming years I will get money for outgoing transfers. Some loans out to get the youngsters some experience, most of whom are never going to make the grade here and will be shipped off when I can.
Things are not looking clever at the moment, the board having to bail us out a few times this season. However the additional revenue from participating in the Champions League and the likely hood of increased gates should mean we see things improving on the financial front.
Key Player Profiles:
Dino Grabovac a linchpin and undervalued member in my Australian success of two World Cups was a welcome signing. On a free, and looking for one last party Dino was all to happy to join my revolution here in Shanghai. Despite everything, injuries hampered him this season. The old man suffered heavily from them. However when he did play, he was outstanding. He won us games single-handedly. The youngsters within the squad will benefit greatly from him.
Xiao was good for us, his stats are not fantastic but the system we play allows for players like Xiao to produce the goods. He scored some good goals but I would have liked for him to score more. I can only hope next season he will close to double his total. But if likely I will look to ship him off.
Yan like Xiao overachieved to a certain extent. He played upfront with Xiao and bagged some goals. His good start to the season saw the bigger sides from China and South Korea sniff around him. I did my best to hold off interest, but next season could be different. His season was however cut short by a broken leg and is going to miss the first three months of the next season. I was hoping to cash in on interest on him. Doubt that will happen for now.

Next Season
A very big first season here in China. It now needs to be backed up and that is what I have always tried to do in this career. I believe that I am second season manager, the pressure is on. The media and club are expecting big things. I aim to deliver. We let the league slip in the last four games. We were top and to let it go hurt. Quite simply this cannot happen again. I really would like to create a storm in the Champions League this coming season. Due to winning the CFA Cup we will enter the group stage. This will ensure we can get some much needed money into the club, but also check to see how far we have come as a club. If the season starts well then we will be ok, if not then I could be finding myself out on my backside without a job. The CSL is notorious for sacking managers.
