Yes that is in the default game already.

Right now i'm investigating whether we can somehow skip forward to August 2026 since the real life season has ended and we can do the promotions and relegations.

Otherwise everyone is forced to start in January 2025 for a game they bought in November 2025…

What is FMl?

If you are going to ask for help it's best if you give as much information as possible, such as actually pasting the contents of your config.xml, to make it easier for other people to help you.

The configs for newgens these days require r- at the front of the id, so you probably need to edit the config.xml to include that assuming whatever FMI is doesn't already do that.

e.g. if you have “john doe.png” with id 1234567

<record from "john doe" to="graphics/pictures/person/r-1234567/portrait"/>

@zbladzg no we release changes files every month, as we have done for more than 10 years, there's no reason to download the complete every single time

Due to the update for 26.1 which added an extra 3000 players many of the youth, we've wound up with duplicate players that we have created as well as SI.

If you find a duplicate please follow these instructions to fix it

The player I am fixing in this situation is Robinho Junior Santos

(1) Find the real Robinho Junior Santos FM ID in the FM26 Pre Game Editor, FM26 Game or our FM26 Guides Database

Pre Game Editor

Search for Robinho, click his name and then the ID is shown at the top next to Unique ID

Full Game
Make sure preferences > detailed > audio & visual > show screen IDs in Title Bar to assist skinning is turned on

Search for the player and you will see the ID next to his name

 

Sort It Out SI DB

Use our search to find the player and then copy and paste his ID

 

(2) Visit the created players DB and search Santos by name or ID

(3) Find Robinho Junior

(4) Click on his name and then in the form inside his profile add the FM ID that you found in step (1) and click “SET FM ID”

 

I cannot find a duplicate Mady Gary, can you provide some evidence so it is easier to find the problem?

Please also make sure you are not using multiple Editor Data files that add new players.

Also make clear if you are talking about FM24 or FM26.

Have they announced yet what will happen next year in terms of extra teams being promoted or reduced number of relegations?

It is not a quick fix to reduce the teams in the league by 1, although we will look into doing that.

A quicker fix might be to release all the players and give them a transfer embargo.

@Daniel Camilo  Please give as much information as possible rather than assume that I have perfect knowledge of all world football, it's really helpful if you link the actual players yourself so we're sure we're talking about the same players and you can check their details on that page as well.

Enzo Diaz contract is listed as expiring on December 31st 2026, we reduce the years by 2 since the game starts in 2023 and it's currently 2025.

That means if you start a save in December 2023 he should have one year left on his contract just like in real life.

I don't know what you're referring to when you're talking about 2024 or 2025, are you talking about December 2024 or January 2024? If it's December 2024 then you can see that's why his contract expires straight away, if it's January 2024 then he should still have one year left on his contract.

And of course any start date in 2025 it would be expired.

We do not support files that increase the start date because it's impossible to accurately reflect real life and that's what we are trying to do.

The attributes update every 20 minutes so each save is unique rather than having 10 different files to use.

Do you mean the no year update? The no year update hasn't been updated recently.

In regards how long it will take to match all the duplicates, just use some common sense. I said there are 3000 players that have been added, lets say it takes 30 seconds to check each one, that's 25 hours. It's unlikely someone is going to do 25 hours straight on Christmas Day, so it will probably take a few days to clear them all up.

You can help yourself just, just browse the created players DB and for any that are duplicated make sure to add their FM ID

I've attached a list of the 3000 new people that were added in 26.1.

Please make clear when reporting errors whether you are talking about FM24 or FM26.

I assume you are talking about FM24.

We are having significant issues with club jobs with the new game, they are stored differently it seems and they've made extraction significantly harder than previous years.

Please keep reporting them and I am working as best I can to fix it.

@ASSE25 yes I am aware and I think my comment makes clear that i'm aware and explains what's happening.

I realise English may not be your first language but please try and understand what i'm saying (maybe an LLM would help?) I'm not sure how to write it again any clearer than I already have.

@sam17111989  There's no reason to edit the config.xml that will break any attempts to install updated versions of our pack.

Just create your own folder and your own config.xml

e.g.

(1) Create a folder called “Sams my custom faces”

(2) Add a file called “Paul Pogba.png”
(3) Create a config.xml that looks like this:

           <record>
               <boolean id="preload" value="false"/>
               <boolean id="amap" value="false"/>
               <list id="maps">
                   <record from="Paul Pogba" to="graphics/pictures/person/1234567/portrait"/>
               </list>
           </record>

There is no reason to name your custom faces “123.png” or “face_123.png” we only do that to keep things consistent for a 500,000 megapack where two players might both be called “Andy Cole”.

But for your custom faces there's absolutely no reason to do that, just name them normal text names that you can remember

Important: The folders are loaded in alphanumeric order so if our file is called “sortitoutsi blahblah” and yours is called “sams blahblah” yours will be loaded first and our folder will overwrite any that are in both. To get around this just name it something like “ZZZ sams blahblah”.

In regards the names again you seem to be using the wrong terminology. No players ID includes face. The file names can be called anything. Within the config.xml it maps the filename to the ID e.g.

<record from="face_123" to="123"/>

It does not have to be face_ this is just what we used it can be literally anything.

<record from="Paul Pogba" to="123"/>

Will map “Paul Pogba.png” to the player with ID 123.

Okay previously you said “duplicates of newly created player photos” obviously it's not the photo that is duplicated, it is the player.

Just looking at Mylan Toty as an example, it looks like he was added in the 26.1 update.

FM26 is a nightmare for us because they keep releasing updates weekly where as usually it's once and done until February. From what I can tell they've just added another 3000 players which means we have to go through and compare those 3000 to the 20,000 we've added and find duplicates which is not a quick task.

You can help with this by reporting them clearly and concisely including names, IDs and teams.

Yes FM XML doesn't work anymore.

Check the first post in this topic, all files have to be named with a prefix now e.g. face_123.png and FM XML assumes the files are named 123.png so FM XML won't work anymore.

Sorry @ASSE25 i'm really not sure what you're referring to. Do you mean there are multiple versions of the player in the game? Or the same face is applied to multiple people? Or that within a folder on your computer you can see the same images more than once with different file names?

Please try and be clearer in your posts so I can answer you the first time and we don't have to keep having this back and forth.

Try and remember that I can't see your computer screen so i've no idea what you're even looking at, so you need to describe exactly what you're doing and where you're looking.

Try using bullet points it might make things easier to think things through step by step.

A new import is happening tomorrow.

However there is also a thing where the game now uses a universal “chairperson” and then for each club has a field called “chairperson title” which then defines the text used such as director or what not.

Which means the site has to be updated to accommodate that and people making submissions have to learn to understand it.

Unfortunately we've never supported the real fixtures and start dates files because they are not realistic all playoff matches get simulated and therefore create inaccurate league structures.

The no date file was primarily aimed at South American leagues and other leagues that start in January, which have not been relevant the past few months.

We usually reintroduce these around this time of year as those leagues finish in real life.

@ASSE25 sorry i'm not sure what you're referring to. You can't just say “Its full of duplicates” without giving examples.

Your second post is also a bit too vague.

Please try and make your question clearer, try starting with a clear explanation of what you're trying to achieve and then use bullet points to explain the steps you've taken that aren't working.

I have a feeling that assumes the files are named the numeric ID so doesn't work anymore, can you please confirm that's the case?
