It sounds like you're reporting a problem with the facepack for FM24 but you haven't given any details.

Can you please provide some more information about the problems you're having and why you think there are no updates for FM24?

Sorry I think there is a misunderstanding.

(1) You add a player “John Doe”

(2) If the player does not have an FM ID he appears in both FM24 and FM26

(3) If the player does have an FM ID, then if the ID appears in FM24 he won't be added and if it appears in FM26 he won't be added.

There is no concept of “remove someone”, unless i've totally misunderstood what you mean and you're referring to retiring Jota or something.

In regards two separate DBs, that seems impossible to manage, there were 200,000 submissions between Jan 1st 2025 and Oct 1st 2025. Imagine if all 200,000 had to be done twice.

I'm open to suggestions if you had something else in mind, 

In regards the merge, it's just a problem of how many we had, 20,000 new players were submitted to FM24, it takes a really long time to check 20,000 players to see if they were also added to FM26 and even then there's bound to be mistakes.

We just need help, ideally the people who made submissions would come back and help.

Admittedly the UI for managing the new players is not great which is not helping.

But again I don't see how have a separate DB would make things any easier, it would just double the workload.

In regards the staff, that has nothing to do with merging, SI changed the way chairpeople are stored and it doesn't even work in FM26, so it's hard for us to make an update that gets it right if the original game isn't even right.

Sorry it will still be a few weeks I think, i'm fighting alot of fires right now.

Is there a problem with the steps given in the first post?

I've only just seen this after asking you to post a specific topic in the home thread. I've merged your other topic with this existing discussion.

I can see the problem with Tom Wagner, he is listed as a “free agent” in our latest DB which is why he's not appearing when you start a game.

That needs to be fixed since he is listed as Chairperson of Birmingham in FM26.

I've no idea why these imports are not working I have attempted to fix it 5+ times now.

I will try and do another import tomorrow.

To be clear using the submission system to try and fix problems in our DB is not the right way to go about it, our DB should reflect what is actually in FM, if there is an issue with the export/import and that's fixed with submissions that's only going to confuse things more.

Of course I realise you were only trying to help fix things i'm just trying to explain things (and probably not doing a very good job of it).

@tommy2095702 sorry can you be more clear in your report, i'm not even sure if you're reporting that there is an issue with FM24 or with FM26?

Please try and give specific examples I can look into.

The comment you quoted was in regards how FM26 stores chairperson job titles in the editor, nothing has been “fixed” in that regard, FM26 still works the same way it did at lunch.

I assume you are referring to something else though.

It has been reported numerous times and as far as I am aware it was fixed already, now I'm struggling to track all the different reports because they're being reported in so many different places and not always very clearly.

FAO everyone in general, the home thread is not a great place to make bug reports, a single clear thread is much easier to track over time.

Please just link to the timeline rather than screenshotting it's easier for anyone to take a look rather than having to search the name manually.

Please also try and speed things up by describing the specific situation in question, it really helps when i'm absolutely swamped to not have to try and figure it out for myself and possibly not understand because i'm rushing.

As it is I'm struggling to see exactly what happened here, I assume it's a bug of some sort.

You also said “it keeps” but only provided one example, maybe if you provided the others I could figure it out?

Maybe create a specific thread for this so it's all on in one place if its a persistent problem, having it across multiple pages in this thread is obviously going to be a nightmare to track.

For now i've made no changes and added it to my todo list to look in the future but no idea when i'll get to that.

It is best not to update our files otherwise you can't install a new update in the future, create a new file instead.

The files are done alphanumerically so yours just has to be named last e.g. by adding ZZZ to the end.

Yes there have been a few issues like this I am trying to resolve and prevent in the future.

This is related to a larger issuing surrounding people trying to merge duplicate players and putting in the wrong info, I am working on a fix but it is very complicated so I don't have an ETA.

Fixed! I disabled skins for FM26 when they said it wasn't possible, but the community has shone through anyway!

Please provide as much information as possible so people can actually help you, otherwise it's impossible.

I can't check the “some others” you've reported because you haven't given their names.

It's possible they exist twice under different spellings but you haven't provided any information like that.

I can't look up the IDs that you're referring to because you haven't provided the IDs.

I can't check if you're accidentally using multiple conflicting editor data files because you haven't provided a list of the editor data files you're using.

It's possible this was a bug in a version of the file from days or weeks ago, but I can't investigate that because you haven't told me when you started your save or if you've confirmed you're still seeing the bug in the latest version. From what I can tell the last time you downloaded the FM24 update was on November 6th? Is that correct? If so you should check if its already been fixed in the latest one before reporting the bug and forcing other people to go and check.
 

@shadytheorist it's much easier to help you if you give examples.

Otherwise the only alternative is for me to try and guess what you're referring to by taking a backup from a few weeks ago and look through thousands of players to try and figure out which players had pictures then and which don't now which will take hours and hours.

Or you could give one or two examples and I could look into it in 5 minutes.

Well, actually, I'm not sure if the problem is with the players. I wanted to ask a question because when I create a game with the patch, certain players, like some from Universidad Católica or Colo Colo, for example, appear duplicated. These players were created in the FM24 patch. The strange thing is that when I go to the FM Editor to search for them and delete the duplicates from the database, their IDs don't appear. I suppose it's the old ID, but it won't let me delete them. For example, José Salas, Jeffrey Sekgota, Bruno Torres, and some others. The thing is, I don't know if this is a bug in the patch, that it hasn't updated the IDs yet, which I suppose is the case, but I'd prefer to confirm with someone who knows more about this than I do.

Can you be clear what you mean by “the update” do you mean the official 26.1 or our update? If our update do you mean FM24 or FM26?

Providing his FM ID that you're seeing in game might help.

It will have the problems I stated.

It doesn't use a single submission it uses all of them and each download varies therefore making each save unique.

E.g.

FM26 = 180
Steve = 185

John = 175

The CA would vary to be between 175 and 185 on each new build of the data update.

The logic is a little more complex than that, in that example with just 2 submissions extra weight would be on FM26 so it would be more likely to be 181 or 182 than 185 or 175.

However in cases such as this:

FM26 = 180
Steve = 185

John = 175

Howard = 188
Trevor = 190
Andy = 182

It wouldn't just be random between 175 and 190 extra weight would be given to that 180-188 range where lots of people have placed making it more likely than the 175

@Darryl Stott is it not possible to start in 2025 with an updated DB. It is not possible to set fixtures for cup games so the game simulates them. This includes play offs and split seasons like Scotland. That means you get the wrong teams promoted and relegated so it's not accurate.

We've had this debate about how to handle attribute submissions. It makes sense to keep ones submitted in September since that is relatively recently and possibly even more recently than the official researcher set it.

But exactly how far back to go is difficult to assess, right now it's only using submissions from the past 6 months.

I guess what should really happen is changing the status for older ones to “expired” so that it's clear in the UI to everyone

Someone has accidentally set Abdul Ouedraogo as having the same ID as FM ID based on this post

That is frustrating and I will have to add in some extra controls and moderation to prevent people doing that which is going to slow everything down 😢

We only issues refunds for people who haven't used the service because they forgot to cancel.

The service is “faster downloads from our premium servers” you made the downloads from our servers therefore we incurred the associated costs.

I don't think it's reasonable to refund everyone who is unhappy with the current state of FM26 itself

When making a comment try and think things through from the perspective of the person helping you and make it as easy for them as possible, that way more people can be helped and things can be fixed quicker.

Which is easier

(1) You give a specifics players name and I can go and look at that specific player: Estimated time 5-10 seconds

(2) You say something vague such as “there are some players” and I have to go and look at every single player and hope I see the same players that you've seen. Estimated time 1 minute - 1 hour
