#837413 new database not letting me start a new career
M.C
One specific thing that is worth checking for is whether you've ended up with two files for Turkey, specifically:
soritoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Turkey (League).fmf
soritoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Türkiye (League).fmf
I would recommend looking in the ‘editor data’ folder itself. If this is the case, please delete the ‘Turkey (League)’ one - it will be from an older update. With these two files present and enabled, you will have the sort of in-game clash that will prevent you from starting a game.
The cause of this is a change in this filename between versions, some time ago.
#837399 Belgium League in Latest Update
M.C
It would be great if you could elaborate on what you have noted that is incorrect in the following thread: https://sortitoutsi.net/content/65384/fm24-league-updates?page=12.
Please note: if this relates to Boavista (and the other teams that have been moved up as a result), this is something we're aware of and we need to do one more pass of the leagues to correct it. If the faults are more widespread, pointing out which teams are wrong does make things a lot quicker to get corrected for whichever staff member takes it on.

Whilst I am sure they do, I don't think that is going to be the direction things will go in. I don't want to speak on behalf of the Site Owner, but I am pretty confident that the integration of a facepack for the newly-created players (on this site) will be done by enabling community contributions through the website, much like it works for the facepacks available for the default database of players.
As soon as that happens, I am sure the community will quickly populate any and all faces they are able and, dare I say it, as soon as that happens, the ever-growing scale and coverage of the SortItOutSI Data Update will quickly become the go-to for newly-generated players as well. I only say that because almost all of the feedback received has boiled down to the facepack. This community is responsible for a cut-out facepack that includes 498,000 images so I suspect submitting the additional ~20,000 for the newly-created players will happen quite fast.
Don't get me wrong - I am sure those other updates do a great job, but I believe the scale of players they introduce is a lot smaller…and the fact that I presume they do so by having a small team of people create everything (unlike here, where we have a community-driven approach, moderated by a small group of people) means the potential for this update to grow in scope is significant.
Given the number of newly-created players stands at close to 20,000 (and there are many new ones added daily), I'm sure you can appreciate that creating faces for all of them would be quite the operation, unless opened out to a wider group via contributions. I do also recognise the importance of having faces for newly-generated players - which is why everyone is free to choose whose creation they use, of course. For me, I prefer the coverage that this Data Update provides versus having less coverage but with existing faces.
#837364 FM24 Player and Staff Updates
M.C
The newly-created players are consolidated in the same main ‘Changes.fmf’ file that all of the transfers and contractual changes are held in; therefore, unfortunately, there is no separate version without them.
Creating a facepack for newly-created players is on the roadmap for the near future - the way those newly-created players are being included has been designed, specifically, to ensure they have consistent unique IDs which is what will enable a facepack to reliably work.
#837273 Troubleshooting Football Manager Data Update Installation - How to install Football Manager Databases
M.C
Actual crashes are rare - in most cases, there's a need to wait it out. I made a post a bit further up in this thread that provides a bit of perspective on how much longer (versus vanilla database) this step can take, using the SortItOutSI Data Update: https://sortitoutsi.net/comments/get/833633. One simple thing that throws a lot of people off is the fact that the progress bar goes right to the end straight away and then appears to be stuck on 100% for a long time. This is just the way the UI presents the progress - it basically goes to the end and then proceeds to read and process all of the custom data editor files. Because the Data Update makes a lot of changes, this step does take a while…but it should complete.
Now, that isn't to say that a crash isn't possible. Again, in my experience, the most common cause of a crash at this stage (when members of our community are trying to use this site's Data Update) is an incorrect installation of the Dynamic Data; which is of course available for those using the Enhanced Data Update. The use of multiple Dynamic Data files at the same time - when only one is intended to be used at a time - can result in the database failing to load.

An update to the transfer bans is coming soon. Should be released later today, so will be available from tomorrow’s update onwards.

Kai Rooney has been part of the Data Update since the start of August, having been added by the community.
You can always check to see which players have been created by browsing to the club in question and seeing if they are in the ‘New Youth Players’ list. In this case, Manchester United: https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/team/680.
If they are not, you can then make a submission yourself to have that player created by clicking the ‘Add New Youth Player’ button and filling out the web form.
#837188 Belgium League in Latest Update
M.C
No need for apologies - those UI bugs/nuances confused me at first some time ago. The number of teams is not the only thing that seemingly doesn't reflect across - it also doesn't reliably show things like transfer/foreigner rules.
For that reason (and others), I always simulate to test functionality before uploading any of the files I am making with Advanced Rules.
#837169 Belgium League in Latest Update
M.C
…and just to follow up: I have successfully simulated through to the second season. For me, the Jupiler Pro League was contested by 16 teams in the first season and then switched over to 18 for the second season (as expected). Here are screenshots showing what occurred in my game (please note the in-game date that I simulated until):
2023/24:
2024/25:
It is worth noting that on the ‘Overview → Rules’ section (in-game) for the Jupiler Pro League, if you look at the Current Season/Next Season views, it does say 16 teams for both. I think this is a UI bug in the game itself.
My degree of confidence is pretty high around the file itself working as expected. I would ask that you definitely check you have (a) downloaded and installed the Data Update fully and (b) enabled the Belgium file as part of the game setup.
#837167 Belgium League in Latest Update
M.C
OK, so just to confirm - the original fault reported (which was that the Belgium file wasn't verified) has been tackled, but your experience is that the progressive league structure rules are not working?
I am in the process of running a simulation using the latest Data Update (including the Belgium file) to see if I can replicate. Before uploading the file, I performed numerous tests including simulating multiple seasons and it was all working as expected for me.
Can you confirm that you are definitely enabling the 'sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Belgium (League)' file (or ‘Classic FM Data Update - Belgium (League)’ file, if you have the enhanced/paid version) as part of your game setup?
#837165 Belgium League in Latest Update
M.C
I've just downloaded the latest/current version of the Data Update and it works as expected for me. I am able to enable the file (there's no warning about it not being verified) and starting a new game with Belgium as a playable league also works.
Just to confirm - you have definitely re-downloaded the Data Update and reapplied/installed the ‘sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Belgium (League).fmf’ file from the latest version of the update?
#837122 Strange Transfer Restriction in Peru after Installing the Data Update
M.C
There should not be anything that is part of the SortItOutSI Data Update that is causing this. In terms of the files that it contains, none of them include any rulesets related to Peru. Therefore, I think it is more likely that you have some other custom data editor files that are introducing this rule.
When you are starting a new game, in the section where you can choose which Editor Data to enable, do you have any entries in your list that show the Peru flag (which is an indication that they change the Advanced Rules for that nation - which is the part of the configuration where these transfer rules are held)? If so, what file(s) are they?
#837113 2024/25 Feb or March or april or may update
M.C
Previous releases can be found via https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/releases. This only goes a certain way back, however.
If you take the version from 26th June 2025, this should pre-date the summer transfer window so I think should give you what you want.
#837082 FM24 Player and Staff Updates
M.C
I’ve just taken care of this duplicate player. It was the result of multiple submissions from the community, not spotted during moderation.
From tomorrow’s update, I’d expect there to only be one of him. Thanks for flagging!
#837052 FM24 Player and Staff Updates
M.C
Thanks for flagging - I actually think that this has been addressed already, as of a couple of days ago. Looking at the history of submissions for this player, it appears a rogue/exaggerated submission got through/was approved, causing him to be a world-level superstar straight away. I can see a more appropriate/modest submission has since been approved.
For any version of the Data Update downloaded from 12th August onwards, I'd expect him to be at a normal/expected ability level.
#837050 Troubleshooting Football Manager Data Update Installation - How to install Football Manager Databases
M.C
The newly-created players are part of the main ‘Changes’ file. This will be named either:
Free Version: sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Changes.fmf
Enhanced Version: Classic FM - Changes.fmf
Please note, this file also contains all of the transfers and contractual changes to players in the original database, so removing this file will also mean you cannot leverage the transfer element of the update.
#837038 Polish 3 down league
M.C
The file that I have attached is the exact file that will be part of the Data Update when you (or anyone else) downloads it from tomorrow onwards.
If you want to use this file right now (i.e. so you can start a new game today), copy it into your ‘editor data’ folder. If you have the free version of the Data Update, it'll overwrite an existing file with the same name - which is what you will want to do.
If you have the Enhanced Data Update, the file name you currently have will be called ‘Classic FM - Poland (League).fmf’. You can either delete that file or disable it during the game setup procedure.
With the file I have attached in the ‘editor data’ folder make sure it is enabled in the game setup and you should be good to go.
If that is confusing, you also have the option to simply ignore the file I have attached and wait and download tomorrow's Data Update and install it as normal as it will contain the updated file. Given you are keen to get started ASAP based on the volume of your posts, I was trying to help you out by sharing it as an attachment for your immediate use.
#837028 Polish 3 down league
M.C
As I promised, I am writing back here to confirm that I have now uploaded the new Poland (League) file as part of the SortItOutSI Data Update. This new file will replace the old one from tomorrow's daily update onwards.
I have tested it on its own, as well as alongside custom database files that enable the playable divisions down to the fourth level. It works in all cases.
For your convenience, I've attached the file here, too, so you can make use of it more immediately - but just to be clear: this is the identical file that will be in the Data Update from tomorrow onwards (so don't try and use both at the same time).
#836997 FM23 2025/26 Save File (as of 12 August 2025)
M.C
That is correct - there is only one version of the paid/enhanced Data Update. If you pay the £5 (which gives you access to it for a year), you will get the dynamic attributes files.
It is worth noting that you have posted this on a forum thread related to a community member's custom file that is not related to the SortItOutSI Data Update, which is why they responded the way they did initially. For questions about the official SortItOutSI Data Update, I can recommend posting in https://sortitoutsi.net/content/60588/data-update-home-thread.
A more comprehensive description of the Enhanced Data Update (also referred to as ‘Classic FM’) can be found here: https://sortitoutsi.net/content/67235/introducing-project-classic-fm-the-biggest-update-for-fm24-and-a-long-goal-to-keep-the-old-generation-of-fm-alive.
#836971 Troubleshooting Football Manager Data Update Installation - How to install Football Manager Databases
M.C
This is an error introduced by me - I uploaded a file forgetting a step in the sequence.
I have rectified it, uploading a replacement file earlier today. From tomorrow’s build, the new file will be part of the Data Update and all should be well again.
Apologies to yourself and all for the inconvenience.
#836938 Polish 3 down league
M.C
As mentioned, I am in the process of updating the ‘Poland (League)’ file that is part of the SortItOutSI Data Update. I am hoping to have it uploaded by this evening, so that it will be available from tomorrow's daily update onwards.
The other custom database file that enables the four levels of Poland as playable requires no changes, just to confirm…and if it did, this would be the responsibility of the author of that file.
I will write to confirm that I have uploaded the new file, for your awareness.
#836921 Almost all contracts are wrong
M.C
Are you referring to the wages that the players are earning? If so, changing the wages - as part of each transfer - is not something that is in the scope of the Data Update, as standard. Specifically, transfers are driven by community submissions and it isn't possible for the person making the submission to update the salary of the player.
I am sure you can appreciate that the football world is absolutely huge and maintaining updates to every player's wage - especially when this information is not necessarily published in a consistent way - is a massive task, verging on impossible.
For those specific examples you have mentioned - what is it that is wrong? Is it that their new salary is too low? Too high?
#836913 Turkiye ligi
M.C
OK so the issue - most likely - is from the presence of the two files related to Turkey. This is, admittedly, an issue with versioning that I introduced some time ago.
You'll notice in your folder you now have two files with similar names:
sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Turkey (League).fmf
sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Türkiye (League).fmf
The smaller file (Turkey) with the older modified date is an old version and you should delete it. The larger file (Türkiye) with the newer modified date is the current version and you should keep it.
The change to the filename has resulted in the old file not being overwritten when you copied over the latest version of the update, which results in both files being present and clashing. The new file, on its own, will work just fine.
Please do try again with the ‘sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Turkey (League).fmf’ file removed and let me know the outcome.
Edit: I've just seen whilst I was composing my reply you noted the same thing and took the required action to resolve it. Glad you were able to get working again.
#836893 FM24 Club Updates
M.C
Thanks for flagging these - I am just curious, are these divisional changes the result of recent decisions/punishments/administrative situations with those clubs? Or did the file simply contain mistakes?
I am asking as I was the one that made the France file and I am just keen to know whether I simply ‘got it wrong’ or whether things have changed since I made the file.
Either way, I have added it to my list and I will correct anything that is needed.
#836890 Turkiye ligi
M.C
Please do write in English to comply with the rules of the forum.
With respect to the fault you are reporting: I believe it is most likely you have more than one file causing the conflict. When loading only the SortItOutSI Data Update (including the Türkiye file), I am able to start the game just fine…and I tested this thoroughly before uploading it. We have also not had any other reports of issues.
To help troubleshoot, can you please share a screenshot of your ‘editor data’ folder and/or the in-game display that shows which files you have enabled.
In my experience, the most likely scenario is that you are using another update alongside the Data Update or, perhaps, a custom database that extends the playable leagues to lower divisions.
#836888 Polish 3 down league
M.C
I do not think your assessment of where the fault is coming from is correct. Though I can understand why you're coming to that conclusion.
The custom database file that enables Poland down to the fourth level (https://sortitoutsi.net/content/63850/fm24-polish-lower-leagues-down-to-4th-level) by @bigpole works absolutely fine by itself. I have just tested a new game, with this file enabled, but without the Data Update (or any other custom files) enabled.
It does not contain any database changes and only contains the Advanced Rules that provide the league structure for the Polish divisions. Within those rules, it specifies that for the Polish III Liga there are four groups (Groups I-IV) and each of these must have exactly 18 teams to be valid.
In the SortItOutSI Data Update, meanwhile, there are numerous files. One of those files - which was added to the Data Update on 6th August 2025 - is the ‘Poland (League).fmf’ file. This file contains database changes that move teams between divisions to reflect the 2025/26 season (i.e. promotions/relegations). However, this file causes there to be only 17 teams in Polish III Liga Group I and Polish III Liga Group IV. Indeed, there are also 19 teams in the Polish II Liga in this file.
It is these mismatches that need to be corrected - something which I am doing as I type this. By ensuring the right number of teams are in each division (in all four levels of Poland), it will enable the Data Update ‘Poland (League)’ file to be used alongside the other custom database that enables the fourth level as a playable tier.
Finally, the fact that the Poland custom database file is uploaded on the website for the community to access does not mean it has to be compatible with the Data Update. The two are unrelated. However, recognising it is probably a popular file and realising what is needed to fix the Data Update's Poland file, I am happy to make the corrections needed so that people don't have to choose between the two.
#836867 Polish 3 down league
M.C
It may be a little bit of a language barrier, but I am not able to clearly follow all of the discussion.
However, as mentioned before, I understand the problem (broadly). In simple terms, the ‘Poland (League).fmf' file - which is part of the SortItOutSI Data Update - results in there being only 17 teams in Group I & Group IV of the Polish III Liga.
If only playing with the SortItOutSI Data Update, this is not an issue because the Polish III Liga is not a playable league and there are no strict rules about team numbers.
When playing with an additional, third-party file that makes the Polish III Liga playable, if that file has strict rules about there having to be 18 teams in each Polish III Liga group, the validation process will fail. The file being used by @galvanize777 is the one that was authored by @bigpole (https://sortitoutsi.net/content/63850/fm24-polish-lower-leagues-down-to-4th-level).
I have not had a chance to download and look at that file, but I suspect it has strict rules about the number of teams in the Polish III Liga groups. Which is not wrong, so there should be no inference that this file needs to be adjusted. It should also be noted that this file is not part of the SortItOutSI Data Update; what really needs to happen here is that an adjustment is made to the ‘Poland (League).fmf’ file that is part of the Data Update so that it has 18 teams in each Polish III Liga group.
This should ensure compatibility with @bigpole's file and it will cause no harm for anyone not using extra files. I am going to get the ‘Poland (League).fmf’ file loaded up, today, and see if I can identify what teams need to be moved/added to reflect real-life and that should tackle the problem.
However, in general, it would be good if anyone reporting issues could take appropriate care to report issues as thoroughly as possible. Troubleshooting these kind of situations requires the context of what extra files are being used to make it faster to get it fixed. A little effort and a little courtesy goes a long way.
#836863 FM24/25 Wonderkids File now live! Adding 10,620 new players aged 21 and under + 10 Optional Dynamic files for adding variation to every save

Apologies that these were not picked up sooner. I have now removed the duplicates (I removed the ones that were setup with just the surname as the Common Name).
#836862 Belgium League in Latest Update
M.C
Just to confirm - I have now uploaded the corrected file for Belgium into the Data Update.
Please note: I think it will be available as part of tomorrow's update onwards. Apologies for the inconvenience - as mentioned, a mistake on my part.
#836861 How to contribute to the sortitoutsi Data Update[Read the opening post for full details]
M.C
All transfers are part of the ‘Changes.fmf’ file. It will either be called ‘sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Changes.fmf’ (free version) or ‘Classic FM - Changes.fmf’ (enhanced version).
The files that have individual nation names (e.g. 'sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Turkiye (League)') contain the division structures for that nation (i.e. promotions/relegations and, where relevant, new league structure rules).
To play with the SortItOutSI Data Update, it is recommmended to enable all of the files that are part of the main folder in the download as this gives you the full content. If you are using the enhanced/paid version, you should only enable one instance of the ‘dynamic data’ files - there are ten choices.
Hope that helps.
