Can you please provide a few named, representative examples? It makes it a lot easier to follow the data trail for us to establish the cause of the issue (and onwardly fix it). Just 2-3 would be plenty.

Just wanted to take a moment to address this comment - I appreciate you've tagged @marcodoglio94, but the issue with the newly-created players being English is nothing to do with his file(s), nor this thread.

The staff team here at SortItOutSI are aware of the issue with player nationality in the current Data Update. It will get resolved as soon as possible. I will make sure that I post in https://sortitoutsi.net/content/60588/data-update-home-thread to announce the fix has been released.

For yourself, or anyone else, who has queries/bugs to report with regards to the SortItOutSI Data Update, the thread I have linked is the best place for those.

This is an issue that has been introduced by the Data Update from this site, within the last couple of days. We're working on resolving that. Respectfully, there is no need for @5edT to tackle that issue as it is not introduced by their file(s).

I just wanted to post to acknowledge the issue with newly-created players all being ‘reset’ to English in the current Data Update. I believe this is equally impacting both the FM24 and FM26 Data Update.

In addition, I would like to acknowledge the report regarding international managers. I have been able to replicate that, too.

These are issues that we will need to tackle via some re-processing, centrally, of data. There is no need for anyone to make submissions to correct anything.

Just to confirm - the issue was resolved in the course of yesterday. All should be back to normal in the Data Update.

This is not possible, unfortunately.

Football Manage saves work by starting with a database that is ‘fixed’ and when you are playing, the game simulates from there.

We provide regular updates so that no matter when you start your game, you are able to have the latest database based on real-life. It is not so that existing save games can be changed, as that is not how the game works.

If it did work like that, it wouldn’t really make sense - as transfers done by the AI (and human) managers could just be undone by a real-life transfer. Imagine you bought a player in the game and then the next day that player transferred in real-life - you would just lose them in-game to another team.

Unfortunately, that's not the correct location for the ‘editor data’ folder. Whilst that is your installation location (when using Steam), the ‘editor data’ folder needs to be housed elsewhere.

Specifically, within your ‘Documents’ folder, you need the following folder structure: \Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\editor data\

You should see that if you browse to Documents, everything up to ‘Football Manager 26’ exists, so you may just need to create that final ‘editor data’ folder. Put the FMF file in there and the game should recognise it.

This isn't quite confirmed yet - rest assured, as soon as there is formal/official confirmation, this transfer (like many/all others) will get submitted, moderated and be included in the Data Update.

What is the full filepath of the ‘editor data’ folder you’ve created?

You should not need to pay to access any community-member-shared files (such as this one).

You should have access to the download by clicking on the file attached to this thread.

Noted - and thanks for checking. It's not that I'm unwilling to help further - however, I just don't have access to review/inspect the transaction data to be able to be helpful. Therefore, with that - and your privacy - in mind you shouldn't send me, as an individual, anything further.

Unfortunately, all I can do is assess based on my level of visibility - which just offers me a view of your account as I've described it. There must be something that has happened that has separated that historical activity from your account.

I can see, attached to your account, a history of Files Downloaded and I can see evidence of your downloads of the Data Update (the free version, specifically). Rather than speculate, it is going to be a case for the Site Admin, @Footygamer, to address. For your awareness, he is on holiday/just returned from holiday, so if you can just bear with us we'll ensure he picks this up as soon as he is available to do so. I am sure he'll have a way to straighten things out with you.

Please rest assured, the site and the paid offerings are genuine. The staff team here consist of a small group of volunteers and we do our best to keep track of all comments.

In terms of the matter at hand, the account you're posting from (trikpa19) does not show any history of purchases. Is it possible you purchased through another account? That is the first thing to verify. From your end, if you visit https://sortitoutsi.net/shop you should be able to see a list of recognised, historical purchases. It would be good to know if you see any entries on that page.

If you do not, then either the order didn't go through, or it is somehow linked to another account. In either of those cases, it would require the attention of the Site Admin, who has access to more detailed information when it comes to payment matters. I am tagging him in this thread to draw his attention to it. @Footygamer.

Just a very brief reply - but so not to leave you hanging: I actually think it is neither.

The Data Update provides adjusted CA/PA and it is mainly driven by community submissions. Broadly speaking, they should be in-line with general consensus of abilities.

I have a feeling we have a data processing issue/bug that is causing null values to be set for some players. This would explain why, when looking up a player like Bouaddi on the site, their ‘Data Update Data’ shows the CA/PA as blank values.

My instinct is that this was introduced as part of a recent re-process, that took place 7-10 days ago (but that’s speculative). I also believe it is only affecting players in the database where there have been zero approved end-user CA/PA submissions. Again, that's speculative.

As an aside, I have just rejected the CA/PA submissions you have made. Just a temporary measure as I want to use Ayyoub Bouaddi as the representative case and keeping his data unchanged, for now, will help us investigate the data flow properly. I will circle back to your submissions and review them objectively once we tackle this issue.

The Site Admin is shortly back from holiday - I will raise with him ASAP and we’ll ensure things get corrected.

In real-life, Sheffield Wednesday have been deducted a total of 18 points.

In terms of the Data Update files, I know that in the FM24 Data Update, we recently configured the points deduction and it is correctly working as an 18-point deduction. I will check what the FM26 Data Update files are doing - I haven't personally worked on those but, presumably, somewhere there has been a duplication of 12 of the points, resulting in that extra deduction.

The SortItOutSI Data Update, definitively, does not include any changes to the match engine. It contains updated data pertaining to players, non-playing staff, league structures and so on.

Whilst this isn't the correct place to flag this - I have had a quick look and I presume you are referring to Enzo Bardeli & Antoine Sekongo. I do agree that these have been approved despite being unconfirmed, as best I can tell.

I have disabled both of those future transfers on that basis.

Please do try and use the submissions system to help us with corrections like this - it is a lot easier for the staff team than picking up the comments in the forums.

Just a quick note to say: I'm aware we've fallen a few days behind with moderating Data Update submissions. I am working to clear the backlog as soon as possible.

This is, indeed, a bug in the way the site's UI is working. Unfortunately, the only person that is able to tackle this is the Site Admin - and he is currently on holiday. I will flag this to him for his return. It looks to me an issue with the ‘indexing’ of the content - you will note it is showing there are ‘zero’ child entries for each nation (which is incorrect).

As a workaround, it is still possible to drill-down, but with some caveats. If you search for a nation (e.g. England), you can get to their respective page: https://sortitoutsi.net/graphics/browse/1/141

From there, if you click on a division and then a club, you get to the individual player lists and they do display the graphics as expected. All the way through that drill-down, however, the ‘completion percentages’ are being incorrectly reported. For example it shows ‘0 out of 2,313’ for the Premier League and ‘o out of 104’ for AFC Bournemouth. The numbers are wrong, however, as there are graphics.

Sorry for the inconvenience - this sort of data error has occurred before and I suspect a re-process will tackle it…but as I say, it'll have to wait for the Site Admin's return.

…and just to follow up: I think I have found the duplicate. The created player had been named ‘Aziz Issah’ (https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update/new-person/2100053909) but for some reason was not showing on the site's front-end. I could see him in the FM24 Data Update, though.

I have now linked this record to the FM UID of 2000370973, which should tackle the duplication that (I suspect) was present on the FM26 Data Update. I believe this will update overnight as part of the daily re-processing of that update.

Can you please confirm which version of the game you are reporting this against? FM24 or FM26? This helps us identify where the fault is.

From a very brief check of the site's front-end data, I cannot see any additional instances of Abdul Aziz Issah. I know that he has been subject of multiple submissions in the past, but they look like they've been cleaned up. I'll check the raw FM24 data as a next step - in the meantime, if you can confirm the FM version, that'll help further.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong…but I do think there is a nuanced/odd something happening.

For your awareness, the core dataset that drives both the FM24 and FM26 Data Update is the same. So the fact that these players are listed as free agents on the site's data (specifically, when you look one of them up against the ‘main’ data which is the FM26 data) means it is logical that they are also set as free agents in the FM24 data. I think, since the release of the FM26 Data Update, the concept of looking up the ‘FM24 Update Database’, which is also branded the 24/25 Database in some places (i.e. the one your screenshot is from) is a bit of an obsolete method.

As to why these players are set as free agents, I am not sure, when they evidently are contracted to Inter Milan. I have not made the jump to FM26, but I do know that the Inter Milan Under-23 side were a late-ish addition to Serie C. I do not know if they are in FM26 as an Under-23 side, but my instincts tell me that perhaps these players were ‘aligned’ to the Under-23 side and some processing workflow/data reimport (to the site) has resulted in them being listed as free agents instead. Certainly, in FM24, the Under-23 side does not exist so even if they were listed against that side, they'd potentially become ‘free agents’ in FM24.

I think the solution is to submit Data Update changes to put the players in to the main Inter Milan club, which should return them to Inter's squad accordingly (in both games).

Sheffield Wednesday’s deduction is on the list for sorting. It’ll be done tonight. Two-minute job.

@thehet (and anyone else following) - I have now created a new ‘Deceased Persons' file and integrated it into the FM24 Data Update. It sets a total of 106 people who have been reported as passing away across January 2024 to-date to the ‘Retired’ status in-game.

I have tested on a new game alongside all other FM24 Data Update files and it is working as expected.

The content of the Data Update does, in fact, include all of the transfers. However, some time ago, across both the FM24 and FM26 Data Updates, the structure/file names changed.

In both updates, the file named ‘Contracts’ includes all of the transfers (which, if you think about it, are contractual changes - hence the name), as well as contract extensions and newly-created players.

Previously, the equivalent file was called ‘Changes’. It is now called ‘Contracts’. The logical content of the files are the same.

In terms of what the paid/enhanced update provides - in terms of frequency, it provides a new version every 20 minutes (free members can access a new version once-per-day). It also provides an integrated level of dynamic, updated abilities for players, through a combination of community contributions and a small level of randomisation that ensures every save has some variance.

The modularity (to choose ‘transfers only’ or a combination) hasn't been established. At this time, it remains an all-in-one offering.

I do know that the site admin has it on the to-do list, but we haven't got to it yet. With the release of FM26 and the fairly continuous requirement to manage all sorts of issues with handling the data, updates from SI and so on, I suspect this modular approach has just simply had to be de-prioritised.

For now, if anyone wants to completely remove all newly-created players from the FM24 Data Update, they would have to achieve this through manual changes to the ‘sortitoutsi.net FM24 Data Update - Contracts.fmf’ file. Specifically, you would need to load this file in the Pre-Game Editor, perform a search to find all Unique IDs starting from 2002042189 and higher and then delete those records.

It is worth noting, of course, that in a scenario where you re-download the FM24 Data Update, the downloaded ‘Contracts.fmf’ file would put them all back.

I am always interested to know the reasons why people don't want to use some of the content - as a staff team, we are constantly trying to improve the data offering so any specific feedback you have would be gratefully received.

As Footygamer is on holiday, now, I don't think any of the rest of the staff can do this directly through the site data as such.

However, I'll make a manual patch (via an extra FMF file) and add it to the FM24 Data Update as a stop-gap measure. I'll get it sorted in the next hour or two, so it should be available for all no later than the next daily update.

Club to whom he has been loaned is indicated as extinct in the FM DB, therefore just removing loan entirely.
