I would have preferred Suso, Sterling and Coady, and that 16 year old to start but that is a very strong team.

I want to see Assaidi rip shit up.

Suso and Sterling are rested - saving them for the weekend most likely. Encouraging that they're pretty much regarded as first team squad players already.

If you're serious about playing you'd be better off getting something a little bit more expensive - it'd be better quality, last longer and would benefit you further down the line. But I'd recommend a Squier Strat at those prices, don't think you'd be able to get a good Les Paul replica for that. Plus I prefer Fender necks, they're not quite as thick and narrow as the Gibson ones.

I bought a Fender Baja Tele earlier in the summer. I'm still pretty much a beginner too but I've been getting better. Need to start playing a bit more regularly, haven't quite put the time in the last couple of weeks.

Relatively strong team to face Udinese:

Reina; Johnson, Coates, Carragher, Robinson; Henderson, Allen, Shelvey; Assaidi, Downing, Borini.

Bjork - vocals and other mouth noises
Jonny Greenwood - guitars and like electronic shit

Now that's a interesting one. It'd be crazy and I'd love it.

Totally agree on him playing Willis well. Just watch the way he holds his jaw and his mouth.

Also I loved the scene in the diner where young Joe is asking about time travel and old Joe is just like "are we gonna stick around here and draw diagrams with straws on the table? Because it would take forever! Don't worry about it!" (I'm paraphrasing horribly there, but you know). Good piece of meta commentary on the film there - time travel is confusing and we don't need to get stuck in explaining it all - just go with it!

Such a soft penalty decision. Harsh on Dortmund, they were all over City for long spells in that match. Hart kept them in it.

Reus was rapid once he got the ball! Well impressed with Dortmund, heard so much but this is the first time I've properly watched them.

They're like an ultra intense version of what I imagine Rodgers' wants from Liverpool. If we can get anywhere near their level I'd be delighted.

also my favourite book of all time is The Wasp Factory by Ian Banks

Possibly mine too. Check out some of Ian Banks' other books too, The Crow Road is very good, as is Espidar Street. His sci-fi stuff is pretty crazy too, although they can be quite daunting.

Okay, I'm definitely getting myself some tickets for it now.

You really should. I've been thinking about it all day, I'm definitely going to see it again soon.

For those who have seen it:

The last 15 minutes or so just knocked me out. Basically from when Sid (?) falls down the stairs and kills that guy. The music was amazing, the camera work was amazing, the tone and the tension was amazing. Joe killing himself seems like an obvious thing to do to resolve the situation but I totally didn't expect it because I was so enthralled by what was going on. When the credits started I just sat there for like a minute just to take it in. So, so good.

I started watching that sometime earlier this year, got up to about half way through season 2 I think but kind of got bored of it.

Wasn't really much of a story to it and didn't really like the stupid in-your-face type humor.

But you like Two and a Half Men?

The underlying argument is probably true though tbf

What you mean that he's confident and idealistic despite relatively little success and experience?

I'm perfectly fine with that. That piece just reads as a wind-up against somebody he clearly doesn't like. I'll admit that the way Rodgers talks is a bit David Brent-like at times, but I imagine a lot of what he says in Being Liverpool is there for the purpose of marketing and impressing Americans.

I mean come on the guy is having a go at him for driving a nice car and living in a nice house. Its ridiculous. And 'a million miles away from Moyes' achievements' - you mean the one trophy Moyes has won in his career?

Of course there's good TV shows on at the moment/in the last few years.

Community, Its Always Sunny, 30 Rock, New Girl, Girls, Wilfred, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Bored to Death, Louie, Mad Men, Parks and Rec etc etc etc.

Some of those have been around for a bit longer than the rest but all in the last 5 years or so.

Got plenty of music to check out on Spotify or Youtube now. Mostly due to Abbott and Zog, you seem to have pretty good music tastes, from some overlap in stuff we've listened to in the past. Any albums to absolutely not miss from your lists?

I like that Zombies one, and Deerhunter are pretty amazing too. The one I listed there is their latest album, but Microcastle and Cryptograms are also good.

I shall be checking out Zog's and Bobber's stuff too. I dig it.
