On-loan and it was fairly dragged out. He wasn't exactly in a rush to get there.

I only mentioned it because you were pretty insistent that he wouldn't sign for Liverpool. I don't think we'll get Huntelaar but as others have said its not beyond the realms of possibility.

Rumours circulating that Liverpool have agreed a deal for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. I would be wet if its true.

We'll probably end up with Darren Bent.

I turned away and saw Colo walking and thought "What the fuck?"

I'm not sure if it was a red card - there's an angle where it looks like Colo makes no contact, and another where he basically stamps him to the floor. But he was asking for trouble going in the way he did. Certainly I'm more aware that Sterling went through Cisse just after half-time, which could also have been a red and probably would've been if it wasn't for Gerrard telling the ref not too.

I'm pretty content with a point given our dreadful record at Anfield, mind

Absolutely no way that Sterling challenge was a red card.

Suarez's goal was fucking awesome.

Unlucky to not get 3 points but Newcastle defended really well so I guess a draw is about right. Thought Shelvey's substitution was odd, it didn't really change anything and he was largely useless when he came on.

Anyone going to see The Master in the UK? Opens on Friday but can't find any local cinema listings for it, hope it's not limited to London or some shit like that.

Wider release in a few weeks I think (hope).

Disney bought Marvel and Avengers was bloody awesome. It'll be interesting to see what they do.

Yep exactly. If they can get the right people to oversee it then I'll be excited to see what happens. Plus they surely can't do much worse than the prequels.

Disney buys Star Wars maker Lucasfilm from George Lucas

Disney is buying Lucasfilm, the company behind the Star Wars films, from its chairman and founder George Lucas for $4.05bn (£2.5bn).

Mr Lucas said: "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of film-makers."

In a statement announcing the purchase, Disney said it planned to release a new Star Wars film, episode seven, in 2015.

That will be followed by episodes eight and nine and then one new movie every two or three years, the company said.

The last Star Wars film was 2005's Revenge of the Sith, and Disney said it believed there was "substantial pent-up demand".

Disney will pay about half in cash and half in stock, issuing 40 million Disney shares in the transaction.

"Our valuation of Lucasfilm is roughly comparable to the value we placed on Marvel when we announced that acquisition in 2009," Disney said, adding that the valuation was almost entirely driven by the Star Wars franchise.

The first Star Wars film was released in 1977.

"For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next," said George Lucas.

"I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime."

Skyfall.

I was slightly underwhelmed coming out of it but now it's kind of sunk in a bit more I really enjoyed it. The narrative is hardly up to much but the character development is really excellent and Javier Bardem is absolutely brilliant in it, he makes the film really.

Went to see it last night, I pretty much agree with you. I didn't think it was particularly thrilling or as exciting as I would have liked, but I really enjoyed the tone, and the story and direction was handled really confidently. And yeah, Javier Bardem was awesome - the film really picked up once he got involved.

Also I think Shelvey has loads of potential. He's not as flashy as Sterling due to his position, but I think he's got everything to become a really good midfielder. He's still very much developing and very raw, but I think he's shown this season that he's got ability.

Tbf Everton were playing very direct and played with a lot of physicality. But on the other hand we tried to do the same but just weren't as good at it

The only reason Gerrard was having a dig at Neville for diving was because Moyes had one at Suarez pre-game. Just returning the favour.

Some more fun referee making bad decision GIFs!

This one was a freekick to Everton:

That second one is just Suarez being done by Mirallas. Players accidently step on each others boots all the time.

The first one is pretty bad but I don't think its intentional. His body language mid-stamp looks like its genuinely a mistake. Was he booked for it? If he was then that seems fair to me.

If the referee believed it was a foul he wouldn't have given Torres a yellow card. You mark the first offence, which would have been a free kick for Chelsea. Whether you like it or not, there was contact, which was a foul. The referee made the wrong decision. It's black and white.

I'd love to see a referee both give a foul and book a player for milking it. Not going to happen, but it'd be refreshing.

The refereeing in this league is fucking awful. Something needs to be done about it, there's terrible decisions that swing games nearly every week, but nobody ever seems to be held accountable.

I agree with Neville, the linesman bottled it. Only flagged once the Everton players appealed for it.

Gutted to lose out to a crap decision like that but Liverpool weren't very good, so I'd take a draw.

Manchester City appoint Txiki Begiristain as director of football

Interesting. Although apparently this restructuring of player recruitment and youth policy is costing upwards of £200m, which makes me sad.
