How the hell did Gosport get 2 draws with PSG

Not long now until the Manchester teams reach the PL, wonder if Gosport can hold them off!

That was by some distance the worst performance of the season, can't remember the last time we gave the ball away so much. A performance and result like that has been coming for a while now though, the whole "Spurs haven't lost since the opening day" thing that pundits keep mentioning has just been papering over the cracks. Thats 3 losses in a row at home to Newcastle, laughable really. Only positive is Chelsea dropping down a place nearer to relegation.

Bloody hell Spurs if you produce a performance like that when you have the chance to go 4th, it ain't looking too promising.

We do it all the time, nothing unusual about that.

Hard to believe Man Utd have gone from a back four of Rafael, Evra, Vidic & Ferdinand to Varela, McNair, Blind & Borthwick-Jackson in about 2 years.

Oh and Hernandez has just scored twice for Leverkusen tonight, both pretty good goals too.

EDIT: Hernandez just scored a third.

I have to admit I am loving this Spurs side this season. A good work rate and some decent English talent, hoping they win some silverware this season! Got to have a decent chance in the Europa League even with some big teams dropping down. I think their potential achilles heel in the competition will be the board/manager's ambitions...the Champions League spots may mean the Premier League becomes their priority during the Europa League knockout rounds.

We could just try and win the Europa League. That's silverware and CL football in one go and its about time we actually won something.

Oh and 3-0, Lamela with all three

2-0 already, both from Lamela although the Monaco keeper fucked up with that second goal.

Even Moyes managed to get past the group stage. On that note, would you Man Utd fans rather stick with LVG or take back Moyes? Just wondering.

I see City are copying United. Go 1-0 up against a German team and then concede 3 minutes later.

So you've played 2 friendlies and lost them, its no big deal like Dan says. I'm sure everybody that plays FM has lost friendlies to much worse teams, it happens in real life football too remember.

I couldn't help noticing what you said here:
"gave away possession easily, passed the ball to no where (to the sidelines...) and created nearly no chance"

Those problems could be because you've set your width to 'Narrow' and are then asking your players to 'Look for the overlap' and to 'Pass into space'. I'm no tactical expert, but to me those instructions are probably the reason your players are playing crap. You've basically told your players to stay narrow and together which means the only spaces to pass into are spaces your players aren't going to be getting into. Try making your team width a bit wider and go from there.

I always leave the training alone, think i've trained a player in a new position once ever. One time I played a CB at LB for so long that LB became his new natural position and he even got in the England team. As for formations, I usually have a 4-2-3-1 that is solid in the middle with wingers that go nuts and attack nonstop. I try and set the mentality, team shape and instructions in such a way that everyone is firing shots on goal whether we're in the box or just near it, it seems to work quite well for me.

Aye that was his only goal for us. We played ace that game, but you won 3-2....that was the season it was you, Arsenal and us battling for 4th! Good times.

Our first goal in that game was awesome, Robbie Savage getting completely done by Robbie Keane

I know it is a week or two old now, but I saw that Sinama Pongolle has signed for Dundee United! Didn't even know he was still playing.

How is he only 31? Thought he would've been way older than that, I remember seeing him score for Blackburn against Spurs once.

It was on CM 01-02 and I think the player was Hasselbaink, but he was scoring so many goals and pissing me off so much that I created a second manager, took over Chelsea, sold him to my main team for £0 and then left him in the reserves forever.

On another old game, I got bored once and decided to try and destroy Arsenal. It kind of backfired though... I managed them, put all the players in wrong positions but won my first game 4-1 with red hot striker David Seaman scoring twice. I subbed him off and then Stuart Taylor came on and scored

Leicester looking like the only team that wants to win the league, although I still think Arsenal will finish top.

Be interesting to see how the new PL teams handle their transfer business and whether or not the big named players stay in the lower leagues.

How will you be playing this? Managing someone or just holidaying through it?

I remember having an amazing save back on CM 03-04 where I took Barnet up through the leagues and won multiple Premier League titles against Man Utd, who had won 11 titles in a row. I had players like De Rossi and Stekelenburg but my main striker was some guy called Andrejs Perepļotkins. Got him for about £1m or £2m from Southampton and he scored over 700 goals in about 750 games. For some reason he just couldn't stop scoring, even though his stats weren't actually that good. I think I eventually sold him to Bradford when he got into his late 30's.

Just had a google and found that striker on Wikipedia, he is still playing but is in the Latvian second division.
