That was dire. Both sides top 6 last season and probably will be again this season but a serious lack of quality.

It is a shame that for Ings. Got a move to a big club, is performing well, made his England debut, exciting new manager coming in to try and impress and then all of a sudden - season over.

That's the 4th time now Holland have finished 3rd in the WC and failed to qualify for the Euros straight after

Crazily enough, every team to have finished 3rd since 1982 hasn't qualified for the next Euros (apart from Germany)

Unreal night, congrats to Northern Ireland first of all.

And what a top effort that is from Republic, superb.

AC Milan 0-4 Napoli

Good result that was, last few weeks you've been absolutely on fire.

It's shaping up to be an excellent season all round. Milan might not agree though, they just go from bad to worse.

Cheers Sam.

Wonder how long they'd have left him for if he just didn't stop haha?

Surprised he hasn't got a story about when he tried to sign him

Jamie Redknapp said it I think!

It's probably Wenger who has a story about when he tried to sign him.

BR, what the hell happened to Roma tonight? Not been too great for you the past few weeks.

For the past 12 months almost, since that 1-7 v Bayern I can barely remember putting two or three wins together. The squad's capable of a lot more and it's frustrating because I think this year is a good one to have a proper crack at winning Serie A, with Juve's weakened squad and very slow start. Just can't see it happening with Garcia, though.

And with three wingers as the front three so will be lucky to get one back. Shameful, may as well end up 4 or 5 so there'd be no hiding place for Garcia then..

Ended 2-1. 5 points from 6 games for Juve. Parallels with Allegri's second season at Milan, after winning the league in his first........

Can't believe Spurs' goal wasn't given offside, right in front of the linesman and it wasn't even close! Poor clearance by De Bruyne though regardless.

Serie A seems so boring these days.

I looked on ESPN earlier and after a half hour all eight games were still 0-0.

Has it gotten ridiculously defensive the last few years?

Quite the opposite, highest goals per game average in Europe's top 5/6 leagues last season and same again so far this campaign.

Carpi-Napoli it was btw, Verse!

Inter are laughing.

Juve have got 2 points from 3 home games v Udinese, Chievo and Frosinone. Napoli are way too inconsistent. Roma, unfortunately, would find a way of not winning the league even if Juve, Inter, Napoli, Milan, Fio etc were wiped off the face of the earth. Shame as there's a squad there more than capable, and this year might be the 'easiest' (for want of a better word) to win it, with Juve faltering.

They'll still get through (albeit in 2nd) but that's a shocker for Arsenal. Now don't go to Chelsea and roll over......

Who do you have at the weekend? You're due a bit of luck.

Charlton at home actually haha, so they'll have played our teams and Rotherham in their last three games (and hopefully only come out of it with a point!).

We have QPR away tonight though.

Macheda's, Aguero's goals etc were all neutral statements, almost facts ("Astonishing!", "I swear you'll never see anything like this ever again!) not "Yeeeessss!!".

But yeah, not really worth anything debating over.

The Sneijder/Robben/RVP generation is coming to an end and there's just nothing coming through (they're not the only major country with that problem though), which is a shame as Holland have had some amazing teams in the past. Their France 98 team would be the best national team in the world today, quite comfortably too.
