On the topic of players who won't be playing at their new club - why is Begovic going to Chelsea? He's a solid, top-half PL keeper who's now just going to be sat on the bench every league game.

Why on earth would Delph go to City That's the last we'll hear about him for a while.

Mitrovic has been linked with clubs in the CL, so that'd be a good coup for you. I've never seen him play like haha but he sounds decent.

Cabaye to Palace looks like it's actually happening then

The money that mid-table/lower PL clubs can spend nowadays is mind-boggling.

N'Zonzi off to Sevilla for a bargain £7m. One of my favourite Rovers players of recent years, top player.

Juventus came 7th in both 09/10 and 10/11, but have won four straight Scudetti since and got to the CL final. Milan won't do as well as that but it shows how you can get back up to the top quickly - and Roma and Lazio (2nd and 3rd last season) can easily (and unfortunately, in Roma's case) be overtaken IMO by the Milan clubs.

Interesting goings on in Milan this summer.

Bacca, Luiz Adriano and Bertolacci already in at Milan and Montoya, Kondogbia and Miranda at Inter.

Not quite the household names that both clubs have had in yesteryear but a major shift in transfer policy from them both and big steps forward - they should be a lot better next season.

I saw somebody call him a 2015 John O'Shea recently (utility man), which is a shame but seems to be accurate from what I've seen. It's a shame because he really was excellent here (I thought he'd be England captain by now and first choice CB) but he doesn't seem to have improved, moving from position to position at United.

Not much chance of getting O'Sullivan back then?

I wouldn't completely rule it out, Bowyer barely used him at the end of last season with nothing to play for and on the back of his impressive loan spell with you so I don't see much there to suggest that he'd be prepared to use him this season. For a youth/reserve coach he doesn't really like playing youngsters at all.

Aren't you only under an embargo until you can show yourselves to be FFP compliant? In that case, doesn't it make sense for your board to ensure the sale of one asset on a ridiculous £45,000 a week wage to protect the rest of the squad? On his own, Rhodes sets you back (under FFP rules which mean the transfer fee is also taken into account over the duration of the original contract, which I think was 4 years) almost £4.5m a year. Doesn't it make sense to take that off the wage bill with a £12-15m transfer and ensure you can sign other players?

Or does that make way too much sense for your board to consider?

You're talking way too much sense there mate for our board haha! It's pretty frustrating, we just seem to have lied down and accepted it and it's being used as a convenient excuse. Once the season starts it'll be trotted out after every bad result.

Leeds have got out of it and QPR are challenging it aren't they, so it can be done. And Bolton avoided it despite having a ton of debt.

For those who like a bet, a few quid on us to go down next season might be worth a flutter.

Lost Cairney and King already, Rhodes and Gestede will surely go, Marshall and Conway (the only other two players apart from the aforementioned who can chip in with goals and assists) are also being linked with moves away and will surely want to go - the players will know that we're only heading one way.

And, to top it all, we're in a transfer embargo and can't replace any of them! Apart from loans and frees.

Bogdan is only a back-up keeper, not much different to when Chelsea signed Ross Turnbull or a 40 year old Mark Schwarzer.

Slaven Bilic confirmed as West Ham manager.

Could go either way.

Agreed, did well at Croatia but his club record has been mixed at best. A relegation before their move to the Olympic Stadium would be hilarious.

Really good final.

Congrats to Barca. Juve played well overall but it's extremely difficult to beat Barca - you need to be at the absolute top of your game, they need to have an off day and you need a few slices of luck.

Could watch Marchisio's backheel all day, superb bit of skill!

Like Bolton finishing 3 points off a CL place?

To be honest it's impossible for teams like that to come as high nowadays anyway in the current PL, he's mainly tasked with keeping teams steady and competitive in the league on more often that not a limited budget. Which he guarantees every time.

Nobody would say a thing if any other player on the pitch had scored it.

Nobody else in the world could even score a goal like that! Picking up the ball where he did, dribbling past a few players and rifling it home - superb goal.

Big Sam's a top manager at what he does and his record speaks for itself, but Newcastle need a manager who the fans feel that they can get behind - that wouldn't be the case with Big Sam after his first spell there.

Sevilla dominate that competition, 4 times in 9 or 10 years is it they've won it, incredible achievement.

5 La Liga teams in the CL next season then. And if Barca win the CL, then the CL and EL winners of the last two seasons will have been from La Liga. Excellent league, I should probably start watching more of it!

I've seen he wants a move to a club in the CL though, which rules Liverpool out as well as Spurs (if they still want him).

Laudrup would probably be your best bet I think. Tailed off towards the end at Swansea but did enough in his first season there as well as in other jobs like at Getafe to suggest he's be a good appointment.

THANK GOD FOR THAT! FUCK OFF SAM!

please Bilic!

Despite a dreadful second half to the season all West Ham fans should be extremely grateful to Big Sam. Instant promotion followed by three mid-table finishes, not once looking in danger of going down.

It would be hilarious if your new manager gets you relegated the year before you go to the Olympic stadium. Especially if he does it playing the 'West Ham way', whatever that is.
