Ferguson spouting shit again. Course he knows where Liverpool are in the league. Reminds me of when Rovers had to beat them to stay up in 98/99 and he pretended he didn't know we were down until the interviewer mentioned it in the post-match interview.

'mon Liverpool! Can't see them getting anything though.

Yep, we were poor, especially second half. Could play all night without looking like scoring from open play. Oh well, not the worst result overall and Bowyer gave us 3 wins and a draw out of 4 games.

Over to you, Appleton..........should beat Charlton at home next week.

Luckily for Marcelo there aren't too many top drawer full backs around nowadays. You're right though, it's still a tad surprising.

What is with Blackburn and slaphead managers at the minute?

Bald inexperienced managers are the way forward - if you're thick and Indian.

Anyway, Wolves away tonight - let's hope Gary Bowyer, the caretaker, makes it 4 wins from 4. Pressure will be right on Appleton straight away to continue the good form if Bowyer goes back to the reserves with a 100% record.

Was skeptical enough about the Appleton appointment before the names of Jerome Anderson, SEM and Kentaro started to rear their ugly heads once again. Makes a bit more sense now I guess. F*ck the lot of them.

Normally there's nothing wrong with a change no, but there is when a) the old badge is better than the new one and b) the new shade of blue looks like that of Marseille.

It's a strange one. Surely Appleton has given some indication that he'd come here, otherwise even our lot wouldn't consider making an approach (then making it public) for someone who's only been at his current club two months.

More should come out tomorrow.

If he does come, then I wouldn't know what to think. It's extremely difficult to judge him on his time at Portsmouth, then he's been steady enough, if unspectacular, at Blackpool so far. Another bald manager though.......

Not a clue what Doni was doing for the first goal. So far off his line.

Got raped 4-1. Cavani hat-trick. Don't know why I was confident, Napoli are probably the team most suited to play against us. If Ozzy was fit enough to be brought on after an hour and do 10x more than Destro then surely he was fit enough to start. Although it probably wouldn't have made too much difference.

We got Derby away. Not the most inspiring draw but at least we've got a decent chance of going through. Middlesborough have had it alright so far. Hastings at home yesterday then Aldershot at home next.

As if Inter signed Rocchi, good player in his day but such a poor buy considering they're meant to be rebuilding. Sometimes I wonder what goes through the head of those in power at the two Milan clubs.

But yeah, them losing today is good news. Tough game for us at Napoli later but I'm actually quite confident. Just a shame you guys turned it round last night Hibee, I know Cagliari went down to 9 men in the end though I dunno what happened exactly....

I was hoping he'd survive one more match - we play them on Friday night. A bit less confident now.

Him and Berg were disastrous appointments. Can't see any bald headed Norwegians, like you said, getting a look in anywhere soon!

Newcastle won't go down, I think they'll pick up a bit soon and end up around 12th/13th. But that would still be a disappointing season after last year and the good squad they've managed to build (even if a lot of the backup players today looked very poor).

It would have been very difficult for them to finish 5th again but I'm sure a push for the top 6 or 7 was the target at the start of the season. Pardew will probably get time to sort it too after receiving that 8 year deal.

Can't feel sympathetic for the club. They're a complete rotten mess and they have been since they first went up. They spent their whole time in the Prem leaving outside their means and it was always going to be a mater of when it caught up to them. They overspent on average players and were spending money they didn't have. I feel sorry for their fans but that's about it.

Aye, was the fans I was on about really. Can't feel sorry for those who have gotten them into this mess, and there have been plenty of those over the years.

John Sheridan, allegedly a drunkard and an aggressive man,

Sounds like a certain slaphead manager we had at Rovers recently.

But yeah, that doesn't sound too promising for you guys. At least it hasn't been properly confirmed yet, still hope.....

That booking for Abeid looked a poor decision. But yeah, Newcastle have been poor, Brighton seem to want it a lot more.

(Not that Walsall beat them haha, just the last few years have been unbelievably bad - probably gonna be League 2 next season for them, shocking).

I don't know too much about his time on the continent before he came to Rovers, but he was very good here up until his final season when he lost the plot a bit - which, you're right, carried on at Newcastle. Splashing out on Luque, Boumsong and all that.....

Just behavin childish because you are not able to grow up?
Im really pissed off at such childish, no its not childish, this is criminal, because you are a grown up person, behaviour.
I really hope you are in psychological treatment because you are not a grown up and mature human member of society, posting things like that.

3-0 win v Forest. Rochina, Rhodes and Kazim-Richards. The latter two's goals were very good, Rhodes looked like he put his in out of nothing, and Kazim's was a very nice finish.

Forest were pretty poor.

It's a good job we won too, I couldn't find my season ticket card this morning/early afternoon so had to pay £22 on the door, after spending a hefty sum last night. Still don't know where my season ticket is so I may have to enquire about a replacement.....
