So sad to see another near death experience in football.

And wasn't Kevin McDonald part of the Allardyce setup?

Neil McDonald that was. Kevin was Martin O'Neill's assistant at Villa, I think.

2-0 up at Barnsley atm, Josh King and Ruben.

2-0 Wigan. Happy for them, sounds like they've had another two clear penalties not given today. Villa are dire. So are Fulham atm, 2-0 Swansea now.

The Autumn/Christmas before he should have gone, especially after Bolton at home which left us with 10 points from 17 games.

Anyway, if this happens then I'd definitely consider not going until the lot of them f*ck off - and I can't remember the last home game I missed:

Blackburn's Indian owners are preparing to appoint English professional football’s first British Asian coach, a 39-year-old former Arsenal trainee who until recently was running a community youth programme in Dagenham.

Judan Ali has also been the subject of ‘below average’ Bollywood movie Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal but his coaching experience hardly qualifies him to step in at Ewood Park in the wake of Henning Berg’s shock dismissal. Ali’s finest achievement to date was leading an Indian Under 15 side to victory in Arsenal’s ‘football festival’ in 2011.

But the Venky’s family see Ali as part of a managerial team alongside head coach Kevin MacDonald, the former Aston Villa coach.

Look at the f*cking state.

He was garbage at Villa but he's fine for this level. Knows how to organise a team, grind out results etc. I don't think they'll go up still but they could nick a play-off spot.

O'Driscoll's sacking was odd but at least Forest have acted quickly. It took our scumbags 5 weeks to appoint Berg - and only 8 weeks to sack him. We're actually playing Forest on New Year's Day which will be interesting.

We've also got a game on Saturday against Barnsley (which is looking like a relegation six-pointer at this rate.....), but god knows who'll take charge of that 'cos all the backroom team got fired too. At the moment we're just a squad of players with Singh lurking in the shadows, and then the reserve/youth coaches etc. God knows who took training today.

Berg was never the right man for the job (as I've pointed out earlier) but still sacking him after only 10 games sound panicking. Anyway, they have got deeper problems at the club which Berg couldn't solve on his own.

Very true.

By Shedender | Permalink | On 27 December 2012 - 10:30 AM
Sorry for the double post, Berg lasted only fifty seven days before getting sacked. BR, who do you think will replace him?

Not a clue. The journalist who's the Rovers reporter for the Lancashire Telegraph tweeted this:

Andrew Cryer‏@CryerRovers
Like I said I have been told coach lined up, manager not.

Which indicates that Shebby f*cking Singh just wants a coach he can work with and have as much influence as possible. C*nt. Ideally, fans would want Hughes or at least a manager with experience, but that isn't going to happen.

In terms of managers, Venky's track record is sacking Big Sam, hiring Kean, not sacking Kean (he resigned, a lot seem to think he was sacked) and then hiring Berg when experience was desperately needed (Mick McCarthy and Ian Holloway were both available at the time).

I'm worried what they'll do next.

Do you think Berg's doing the managing, or is Singh pulling the strings behind the scenes, dictating team selection and tactics? Because I can't see the side you've got struggling for any other reason. I honestly reckon Berg could be canny enough, but his hands may be tied.

It's hard to say, but I bet Singh is trying to worm his way in yeah. He's the sort that loves the sound of his own voice. That's why he wanted an inexperienced manager, so he could control him. The side isn't as good as probably most people think, there's some gaping holes and some past it players on sh*t loads of money but yeah, you're right in the sense that there's no way we should be anywhere near 17th.

I remember when we played you and we were 5th and you were 6th (or maybe the other way round). That was only last month - but things are looking a lot different now! We're also mis-using Rhodes, btw. He's lethal but spends most of his time chasing down backpasses to the keeper and our aimless long balls. He gets barely any service at all.

By Phoenix Arrow | Permalink | On 26 December 2012 - 23:06 PM
It seems like a mixture. Berg can't be an amazing manager but it's like... I don't know it doesn't seem like he's been given much control. The tricky thing is, if he leaves now or is fired for whatever reason, then who's going to want that job? Even if it's not Venkys fault that the team isn't performing now (which I doubt) then it's still going to look like they don't know what the fuck they're doing.

I don't think Berg's up to much, no. His record in Norway was only average overall, iirc (correct me if I'm wrong Jonas). You're correct though - even if he leaves, then what? Shebby appoints another nobody that he can have an influence on?

Did Brighton not play today btw?

Berg's having a nightmare. Think he'll be gone soon, whether it be a sacking or him resigning. If he resigned he'd still leave with his reputation intact and all blame would be attatched to the f*ck ups in Pune. And Shebby. Which it should be. It's been just over two years since they sacked Big Sam, it's been an absolutely minging two years.

Rodgers can dress it up however way he wants, that's fecking poor. Stoke never score 3, very rarely more than 1. Losing 3-1 at home to Villa too, dreadful.

They've been on about him not signing a new contract for a while now, I think Rafa gave a press conference a couple of weeks back saying he wouldn't be surprised if Lampard and Cole both leave in the summer, or something very similar.

If he goes, Lampard will be a very good signing for somebody. Might head over to the States though, or somewhere.

BR. was referring to the incident involving Rekik when people were claiming he body checked whoever was running into the box

I was, but I hadn't seen it then - it wasn't much of a body check though having seen it, it could have been a handball though I think.

Stoke aren't everyone's cup of tea but it's hard not to admire them in a way - they hardly ever concede and hardly ever lose. Similarly, I know Everton have been doing very well but just 2 defeats in league 27 games is staggering. Fair play.

Also, Newcastle fans booing the Ameobi/Cisse substitution and then going on to win was perfect after Shola saying booing negatively affects performances last week. He took his goal very well.

^ Not sure. But nothing like Zeman's - 3-0 up v Milan at half time, we're magical to watch. Ozzy's header, DDR's pass to Lamela, Lamela's finish, everything is just beautiful. I'm very confident we won't throw it away either

As I mentioned earlier to PA on FB, very surprised our game was called off today. It was dry all yesterday/last night, obviously it was lashing down all today until about 2pm but the game a few miles down the road at Accrington Stanley is on. How embarrassing. Some Brighton fans have gone to that game to support Plymouth, fair play.

'Incompetent' would be a word that sums up everybody at Rovers these days.

Good win for Fiorentina today yeah. Poor do for Inter, drawing at home to Genoa. They aren't playing half as well as they were when they beat Milan, Juve a couple of months back, they've been very poor lately.

If you've got anything about you, then you'll beat us, we're dreadful. If it's a draw then neither of us are getting near the promotion spots. Will let you know more about the game tomorrow night once I've got back from it.......may the best team win......
