Welcome To Rio de Janeiro - Welcome To Botafogo !

Leaving Bulgaria was a tough task but also i was curious what can i learn more about football in Brazil (The football nation).So i left Ludogorets Razgrad left the Champions League left Bulgaria and started a new life.First thing i saw and made me go crazy(in a good way) was the city ...Rio de Janeiro!

Won't talk about the city but one thing was for sure - the adaptation was going to take sooooo loooong ! But on the way to the Botafogo base i was thinking how big football country for real Brazil is.

Little Info About The Club !

Botafogo is playing their games at the Estadio De Botafogo or how the fans call it Nilton Santos.With the capacity of 46K every game is a football party for the fans and means a lot for the players !

Botafogo is using primary uniform which consists of a black jersey with vertical white stripes, black shorts and grey socks. Their secondary uniform is all white. An all black uniform may also be used. The socks, although traditionally grey, may also be black or even white on rare occasions.
The club has contract with the Topper brand for the uniforms till 2024.

Now with my arrival at the club the first things i saw were that the club is a club that wants to win and has everything to do it.The only things that i was going to look for or trying to improve were the team to play attacking expressive football.A game that every Brazil fan would like to watch..cuz we are in Brazil now not in Bulgaria !

And this guy was going to be the cream of the crop.Alex Santana a defensive midfielder who i was going to make the captain of the team and to rebuild the team around him ! He is our star player for sure !

As i said in the beginning i was here to learn (atleast the first season that was promised from the chairman) so i started learning and i was learning fast.Brazil teams are playing a lot of matches in one season...they have the normal Brazil First League and then they have something like warm-up league in States where we reached the final but lost to Vasco Da Gama but since i now know how things works in Brazil we will be ready for the next season and now our focus is purely in the League and in Copa Sudamericana ( or the european EUROPA LEAGUE) where Botafogo (We as a team ) have place in the tournament for this season.A long season is ahead of us so i hope you gonna enjoy it to the fullest guys !

Welcome to Czech Republic

As my first stop and first club i decided to start as a manager of Viktoria Plzen.The team won the league title 5 times,2 times the Supercup and has one Czech League 2 title which is won in 2002-03 season,but lets talk about something else as you guys may know the ones that follow Czech football clubs etc that Pavel Vrba the best Czech manager left the club to take control of Ludogorets Razgrad yes my favourite team so it was the perfect time for me also to take his place at Viktoria and to continue his work winning trophies and making a name in European tournaments with the team as i said in the description my plan is to stay in every club 4-5 years trying to win everything so my home now is Viktoria.

As a player, Vrba played for several clubs including Baník Ostrava. As a coach, he led several Czech and Slovak clubs, including a Czech First League record of five seasons in charge of FC Viktoria Plzeň, whom he led to two league titles, one cup title, and three consecutive seasons of participation in the UEFA Europa League knockout stage – a record for any Czech club

Well long story short this is what i should do even better to make a name in Viktoria to carry this work to another level.To be honest i wasnt familiar with the Czech football before Vrba taking control of Ludogorets did a research and we will have difficult times in Czech League with our rivals in the first place Sparta Praha then Slavia,Slovan and Jablonec ...atleast these teams i see as the good teams so those will be our derby games for sure !

It was time to bring back Brabec back to Czech Republic from Gent so this is huge first transfer for the team as he was nominated for Czech Footballer of the Year – Talent of the Year.The young defender will help us in the competitions the team fights and also will help rebuilding Viktoria to my own liking ( if you didn't understand what i meant with rebuilding i meant that there are a lot of 30+ years old footballers that will be replaced ).Well Brabec is the first one !

As for the objectives the league is our main goal cuz winning league means Champions League/Europa League that means money and players.The team wont be lazy in the cup games tho Viktoria for sure will be fighting for the cup also.NOTE Pavel Vrba left the team as champions so we gonna play in the Champions League qualifiers which means it will be difficult season so we gonna try to be competetive as much as we can and qualifying for the Groups will be huge achievement.

Viktoria will be in a training camp in Austria and will play 6 friendly games with some bigger teams as Hannover Zurich FC and Wacker Innsbruck.The league will start with a home game at our stadium Doosan Arena against Karvina and then my journey in Czech Republic will start officially !

Ludogorets won his 12th league title after losing the throne last year to Levski.The team from Razgrad managed to beat the champions in the important games and with only Botev Plovdiv causing problems for the Eagles the title was decided in the last rounds but a final draw with Botev won the title for the Green Eagles and they are back at the top in Bulgaria and will qualify for the Group Stages of the UEFA Champions League for the next season.

After a great group stage in the UEFA Champions League Ludogorets qualified for the Europa League as the 3rd team in their group only to be eliminated from AZ Alkmaar in the First Knockout Rounds of the tournament after a defeat in the away game and a draw at Ludogorets Arena.....

Read everything till now what a good story ...unlucky in the CL tho and that PSG result i can fully understand it ( with my Ludogorets

).As for the league 2 points are nothing but yet Brugge is not a team that you can just pass trough easily .. ! Keep it up !

Season 6 - Learning From Our Mistakes !

Pre-Season

The team was disheartened after the ending of the last season losing the throne of being champions of Bulgaria since 2011 was difficult to accept...but defeats makes us stronger not the victories so the team started the season with the hopes to be back where they deserve to be at the TOP.Ludogorets played only 4 friendly games but that was enough to show people that the team is ready.Winning with 7:2 and 8:1 was also good for the confidence of the team/players.

Transfers In

Mistakes were made last season exactly at this point of the season the TRANSFERS.The team fired most of their transfer related people scouts,analyzators etc and new staff was hired.The team decided to make the same old core of the team by Romanians,Bulgarians and players from Brazil mostly.Jose Alvaro also decided to bring a new formation with a defensive midfielder and thats why the team bought the young Vasil Stoilov from Dunav for 4.5M Two romanian players were also added to the team squad a forward and a goalkeeper.Two national team players which are expected to bring something that were missing last season in the team.

If we are going to talk about the outgoing transfers well most of the failures from the last season left the team names like Cardona,Fiolic,Lukov are not anymore a part from the Eagles.

Bulgarian First League

Ludogorets started the season with a difficult away game against Montana which was won with 2:1.The first game at Ludogorets Arena was enough to show the fans that the old Ludogorets is back and is ready to fight for his throne.The first derby with the new champions Levski was lost with 2:1 away from home but the second in the nest of the EAGLES Ludogorets won with the same result to win the top spot in the league table.

Ludogorets is at the top with 42 points 5 points ahead of the 2nd Septemvri Sofia another team that makes a really unexpected and good season.As for the "champions" Levski the team is at the 4th place with 35 points the other grand team CSKA-Sofia struggles now for a 2nd season at the 6th place with only 30 points.Is this the season where Ludogorets gets his throne back ?

Bulgarian Cup

With all those games in the league and the Champions League the team wasn't ready for Cherno More in the cup and was eliminated unlucky after penalties...which also opens more space and rest for the players for the other more important tournaments/games...but that doesn't mean that we are not dissapointed from the result.

Champions League

The most prestigious tournament in Europe and we were ready for it.The Eagles started from the qualifications while the champions of Bulgaria was already in the group stage.Ludogorets won against FC Basel and took the sweet revenge against Olympiacos to qualify for the group stage and for the first time the CL was with 2 Bulgarian teams.The Green Eagles started the group stage with a games against Barcelona while in the other game from the group Juve was away against AEK.While Juve was destroying AEK ......Ludogorets did the impossible and won against Barcelona at home then the team won 2 times against AEK to qualify for the Europa League Knockout Stages but was ready to fight till the end in the group of the CL which wasn't enough to qualify tho.

The team was so close to upset the odds in that group but 9 points weren't enough and Ludogorets will play in the Europa League in Spring.

I can't explain what happened to the team in this season maybe too much pressure or just wrong transfer window .......but the team was not ready for all those games in all those tournaments and we lost the crown and the right to be called the champions of Bulgaria....atleast for this/next season.The team played really bad and was like a middle table team whole season winning 1 losing 2 ....The only positive thing is that in the last games we managed to catch the last train for the UCL play-offs rounds and we have one more chance to make things right for the next season.Congrats to Levski Sofia this will be their first and last since for those 10 years.

20M Transfer budget and only wrong decisions ? Is this the reason for the fall of Ludogorets this season ?The team decided to strenghten the defence line with one familiar face and one defender with potential to be a big name in the club ( like C.Moti ) but for now things are getting worse and worse Bochniewicz was planned to be the new central defender right to Jose Palomino who was playing before in Ludogorest in season 16/17...The other "good"transfer was the one in the right back position with Danny Da Costa from VfB Stuttgart again disappointing one....Denys Boyko also was unveiled as the new Goalkeeper of Ludogorets with his experience in european tournaments ( 1 final in Europa League with Dnipro) he was the perfect target atleast thats what the club thought.The last 2 transfers were in attacking position a central forward from Preston and an attacking winger from Rapid.

The season started with a defeat against Beroe and then actually everything was fine and then we started losing points and we still do.The team can't keep his advantage when the team is ahead and that loses us the points in the league.The team is 14 points behind the first Levski-Sofia and 10 points behind from the 2nd place where Botev Plovdiv is....The team is in the 4th place with 31 points and something needs to be changed..because the Eagles are not ready to give up on the throne.

The only positive thing is the Bulgarian Cup for now.The team won the first two games to qualify for the Quarter-Finals where they will face Beroe Stara Zagora for a place in the Semi-Finals.

The reputation of the Bulgarian League won us a place directly in the Group Stage of the tournament but we were not ready for that place....The team continuted their bad games from the league into the Champions League too.In a group with FC Porto,Napoli and Brugge the team is with 1 point after a draw at Ludogorets Arena 1:1 against Brugge.There is no chance for the 3rd place too so a disappointing season in the tournament for Ludogorets and their history.

We've done it ! Finally after 3 seasons as a manager of Ludogorets the team managed to win the Bulgarian Cup after 2:1 victory against Levski-Sofia in a difficult game where the two teams were at their top form.Ludogorets reached the final after elimating Loko Plovdiv winning both of the games.

Once again Ludogorest is crowned as the Champions Of Bulgaria and this time the team won a place in the GROUP STAGE of the Champions League thanks to the new ranking of the league.So the team will celebrate not only the league title but also the place in the Champions League in the new season without qualifiers.Now back to the league it was a difficult season for the club and the staff and we should be honest every season become more and more difficult not sure if the other teams are improving their game or we are playing bad yet we managed to win the league and should improve the squad ( defenders ) for the new season for sure !

We got eliminated after a crazy night in Amsterdam after winning the first leg at Ludogorets Arena 2:0 we lost 3:0 and missed a penalty to be eliminated once again in this stage of the tournament this time by Ajax.We can only move on from that and learn nothing else... !

Started the season with a derby game against Botev Plovdiv and everything was going fine until the first game against CSKA-Sofia when we lost 1:0 at Ludogorets Arena and gave the 1st place to them.....The games in the european tournaments is making the league more difficutl than it should be but all the tiredness and the right motivation playing one week with Real Madrid and the other with Slavia or Arda ( no offense tho ) Yet we have 2 points gap to close to get on the 1st place in the league.

Bulgarian Cup

In the last season the team lost the final for the Bulgarian Cup but this season the team won a place in the semi-finals once again and will face Lokomotiv Plovdiv in a two legs semi-final game.

Bulgarian Super Cup

The team won his 5th Bulgarian Super Cup against the Bulgarian Cup holders Botev Plovdiv after 1:1 in the FT and winning 5:4 on penalties.This title makes Ludogorets the team with the most Super Cups with 1 more than CSKA-Sofia and 2 more than Levski-Sofia,

The team started really well in the Qualifications of the UCL with 12:0 victory against Llapi and eliminated them 19:0 on aggraget after that "Orlite"eliminated Vardar (Skopie) and Qarabaq to reach the play-offs where the Greek side Olympiakos said STOP to the Bulgarian side eliminating them after victory at their ground with 2:0 and losing 1:3 at Ludogorets Arena where the Green Eagles were so close to reach the group stages but Olympiakos managed to win on away goals..in a very dramatic game.The good news are that if Ludogorets manage to win the league again the next season they will qualify directly without playing in the Qualifications.

As a team that has a goal to play in the CL group playing in Europa League was easier task and the team showed it after winning the group stage with 12 points while Rennes finished 2nd also with 12 points.The team played some really good games like the oppening game against Rennes won with 6:2 at Ludogorets Arena or the victory against FCSB at their ground in Romania with 1:2.

The team will face KRC Genk in the First Knockout Stage and for the first time the team is shown as a favourite to win the tie this shows only that Ludogorets is making a name in Europe and we are one step close the be the kings of the Balkans,(Well we have to improve the things that happens in games like the one vs Olympiakos but still

With the money of selling Martin Minchev the team signed with not too much players but a little but with quality.As you know the team likes to buy from Romania and Brazil and have a core of Brazilian and Romanian players we decided to continue that tradition so we got the Brazilian Goalkeeper Thiago and the Romanian winger Maliat.Nguinad was just another addition to bolster the quality in the team and he will play in the Wing Back position.
PS: Ivan Saponjic was signed while i write this in the winter transfer window so we will see what he will bring to the team in the 2nd half of the season !

Ludogorets sold his wonderkid Martin Minchev to the italian Salernitana for 6.25M euro which was a pretty good deal for the Bulgarian side in a finnancial way but still it showed that still we can't compete with the teams in the bigger leagues.....the team also decided to side ways with Jody Lukoki and Jablonsky.

Once again we managed to win the league title ( so much easier this time ) but something felt off like it wasn't enough Ludogorets is a team that need to dominate to win everything possible and not only the league ....anyway the team played good and showed once more that its not ready to give up on the throne.The last 2 games the team used reserves as the title was already won.Also we shoudl notice that CSKA had an awful season finishing 5th and wont taste the european tournaments the next season.

We had 2 season that we were eliminated in the Quarter-Finals...this season we managed to reach the final to lose 2:1 against Botev Plovdiv abd get the silver medals only which is not enough for a club like Ludogorets....

Season 3 - Ludogorets ! Green Eagles in Europe !

Ludogorets finally after 2 season managed to sign with their biggest transfer target Mavis Tchibota from Bnei Yehuda for 2.3M.Tchibota will be a key part of the new season squad of Ludogorets and the expectations are high for him.

The other transfers were made in the defensive position where Ludogorets had problems in the last season and Ionita was the only player that was signed to replace his compatriot Ianis Hagi who was sold to Fulham.

Ianis Hagi wasn't the only one who left Ludogorets after only 1 season at the club.Florin Tanase was also sold after the bad spell in Ludogorets ( mostly injured ) to Konyaspor where he will continue his career.
Another striker was also sold cuz he wasn't in the plans of the manager of Ludogorets.Brandao was on loan for 2 years in Salernitana and the team from Italy finally decided to offer him permanent contract.

Ludogorets lost the Super Cup game on penalties against Levski Sofia after 1:1 FT.The team lost the SuperCup game for the first time since the appointment of their manager.Ludogorets board,staff and players congratulate Levski for their first trophy since 10 years.

Ludogorets started the league with a derby game against Levski Sofia and this time ( not like in the SuperCup game ) they won with 2:1 at home which gave a huge boost of confidence for the next game.....The best pack of games was in October where Ludogorets won all their games and Levski was once again smashed this time 4:1 away from home.Before the break Ludogorets lost his concentration in the league and the team lost to CSKA-Sofia and got a draw against Botev and Cherno More

Yet the team is in the first place with 3 points advantage againts Dunav ( doing a really good season i can be only happy for them ) while the rivals ( Levski and CSKA) are 3rd and 4th.

Ludogorets started the european campaign against Lincoln and with aggregate score of 10:0 the team qualified for the next round where they played with Viitorul ( Romania ).The best game of the campaing was surely the play-off's where Ludogorets and Beitar game was full of drama but the Green Eagles managed to win with 10 players in the 2nd leg after losing the 1st

In the group stage Ludogorets was drawn with PSG,Barcelona and Dynamo Kyiv.The only chance was Kyiv as the games against PSG and Barcelona were the games that the team was going enjoy the moment talking about 3 points against teams like PSG and Barca was kidna impossible.The team started with defeat against Kyiv at Ludogorets Arena and was losing till the home game against Barcelona where Ludogorets won a point after 1:1 and a victory against Kyiv at their home ( sweet revenge ) was enough to qualify them for Europa League Knockout Rounds.

@SirWerGaming Well,i think that the european tournaments make us lose the league games for two reasons ( The right motivation for the games in the league games and the UEFA games ) and ( the tiredness after the traveling and the games there ) .... But in the end we are Ludogorets and the only goal is to win the league and qualify for the CL next year so we SHOULD be able to win it.

The first game cost us the victory against Bilbao.Losing 2-6 away from home was pretty much the end of us in the tournament for this year...even that the boys showed that they can fight in the 2nd game it wasn't enough after 3:0 victory at Ludogorets Arena.

So the elimination from the EL helped us in the league and our focus was only and ONLY the league games ( there wasn't anything left tho ) and we once more showed why we are the champions of Bulgaria by winning the league once more and closing the gap of 12 points with CSKA to win it with 12 points more than them and 10 more than Levski.The goal is only one again for the next season .....winning the league and achieving something in the CL.

@tongey Well thanks dude.In the first game against Benfica we were up 1:0 till the 91min then our goalkeeper did a mistake with the pass and the game ended 1:1

.In the away game we were unable to do anything we played in our half without even 1 shot :\

After the successful last season in the league and the CL the board set a huge amount of transfer budget so i did my best and got my targets.Won't talk about everyone but some of them are really here to improve the class and get Ludogorets to a higher level.

We got Martin Minchev and Davidzada for the future of the team as Martin Minchev was a transfer target of Porto and some Turkish teams but we won the battle for the winger.

Let's talk about the bigger transfers of the team one of them is Stephane Badji from Bursaspor who was relegated we got the player on 3 years contract with the goal to strenght the midfield zone.

Also we got a trio from Romania in the face of Tucudean,Ianis Hagi (son of Gheorghe Hagi) and Florin Tanase to help the team in forward positions ( we had some problems infront of the goal )

The last transfers we made were the signings of Dan Bitton (my personal favourite) and Jorge Intima (Jorginho from AS Saint Etienne )Why Bitton is my favourite well he is young and creative player and its time for someone to step up and replace our legend Marcelinho in the role of Attacking Midfielder.

Started the season with a trophy once again after a victory against Beroe 3:2 FT.

Now let's talk about our elimination from the Champions League after those transfers we did before the season starts.Everything started fine we destroyed Birkirkara FC after that eliminated Duddelange and Qarabag to be drawn against Viktoria Plzen where we got dominated from them in our home Ludogorets Arena to lose 2:3 and in the away game they played so defensive that we didn't managed to get a clear position for goal....So after 14 millions spent we weren't able to qualify this season group stage of the CL.

Our problems weren't only in the Champions League actually they started there after our elimination.The team played poorly the whole half season and when i said that i bought that TRIO FROM ROMANIA to strenght our forward position i wasn't expecting this to happen.We were unable to score more than 3 goals most of the matches even against newly promoted teams as Tsarsko Selo and CSKA 1948.

So now there is 11 points gap between us and CSKA-SOFIA which we should be able to close in the 2nd half of the season with more sweat and passion while playing.

Bulgarian Cup

Another disappointing result in the end of a tournament for us.We are out from the Bulgarian Cup once again in the Quarter-Finals this time against Levski-Sofia losing 3:2 FT.

If i have to say something ... that probably will be that it was hell of a season the players were so tired after that RUN in the Champions League and we had so many problems in the league but we managed to win it in the end literally .We've won the league title in the last matchday against Etar with victory 1:0 while our rivals CSKA lost to Cherno More 2:4 at their home.

UEFA Champions League

Our romance in the Champions League ended against Benfica in Portugal.After 1:1 at Ludogorets Arena and a defeat with 1:0 away from home Benfica eliminated us from the tournament.Well it was a performance to remember.All the players actually amazed me and im pretty sure we can do that happening permanently with a little bit more class and strength in the squad.

Im not a huge fan of Seria A but you are doing pretty fine with Samp in the league ! Unlucky defeat in the Coppa, and a good thing that you renewed the contract of Bereszynski ( heard of him last transfer window was a target of Besiktas

One of the goals is of course to make large as possible our trophy room ( most importantly the league ) and to dominate in Bulgaria.

So i wont talk much about the transfers but with the plan i have on my mind i needed them ( and of course Ludogorets got them in real life ) but to make a resume we got Plamen Iliev from Astra as the plan is to sell Renan to a big club for a good offer and Iliev to replace him in the goal.

Serkan,Mahlangu,Bakalov and Popa are here to strenghten the midfield as we need a central midfielder and a wing player ( wont need Popa permanently at the club so thats why we loaned him,you'll understand why later if you read

As for Nedyalkov and Grigore we need to reduce the mistakes at the defence to the minimum and thats why they are here.

We are out from the competition after a defeat on penalties against our Rivals CSKA-SOFIA but overall our performance was good and im happy with the way the season is going on ( Next season is ours ! )

The only strong team there is Partizan i think and they have a bad season.As for the Europa League there is still a chance to qualify in 2nd place.A fast question is Jonathan Cafu in your squad ( former Ludogorets player) ?

Two defeats in the last 10 games for Besiktas wasn't SO bad but also is not something that can win the league for a team.The team is inconsistent and the bad thing is that doesn't help to the goal of the team.Losing the derby against Fenerbahce was also another strike for the ambitions of the Black Eagles.The team have problems infront of the goal where the top goalscorer is the midfielder of the team and also captain Oghuzah Ozyakup and a fun fact the best pass completion is for Loris Karius.The team needs to improve in that direction if they want the title.

Even that the team lost 2 games in the last 10 games Besiktas is at the 2nd place with 1 point behind from the leader Basaksehir.Galatasaray,Kayserispor and Goztepe are the closest teams to Besitkas with only 1-3 points behind the Black Eagles.Fenerbahce are still strugling ( as in real life thats why i love FM ) but with their victory against Besiktas they are getting closer and closer to Top 5.At the bottom the newly promoted Ankaragucu is trying to get out from the relegation zone where they are with Sivasspor and Erzurumspor too.

There is not much to tell as you can see YEP Besiktas is out from the Europa League in the group stages ( in that easy group as would someone say ) The team won the first 2 games but after that something happened and the team lost 2 times against Sigma Olomouc and also the games against Rapid and Zurich.
