bluemoon.
Gino Peruzzi's awesome.

Catania have found a really nice niche for themselves in the transfer market, evidently domestically based Argentinians are undervalued by clubs in Western Europe, which gives Catania an opportunity to get a lot of quality for relatively low sums. Peruzzi will be the 13th Argentinian in their first team if he signs for them.

I strongly suspect we'll be in and around when he moves on from Catania. Apparently (if I understood the dodgy translation correctly) we tried to sign him from Vélez and loan him to Boca for a year.

The tabloids aren't even trying anymore.

Fucking hell.

It'll be interesting to see how he gets on, he's already seen as a realistic alternative to Zabaleta in the national side (his defensive game is meant to be better) so he could end up replacing him at club level as well.
bluemoon.
Not sure what will/would happen at club level (and for the moment at least, Zabaleta's better in pretty much every way) but I fully expect Argentina to go to Brazil 2014 with Zaba as their left-back and Peruzzi as their right-back.
Though that is in no small part down to their weakness at left-back, I'd be interested to see what happened if they had a proper left-back available. It would would provide an interesting battle for the right-back spot.

I've stuck Zabaleta in my fantasy team, is that a good decision? Is he likely to be a first choice defender this season?
bluemoon.
I don't know if it'll be a good decision 'cos I'm not that good at Fantasy Football but, yes, he's likely to be our first-choice right-back this year although Richards will definitely get some games.
bluemoon.
He's cursed, don't ya know.

So does that mean this will spike in sales?

On one hand, we've missed out on what is undeniably a top talent, and our issues with this transfer window remain.
On the other, fuck him, I'm glad he's not bringing his famed loyalty to the club, not to mention the potential bans he'll inevitably get.
Carroll.
Fuck off.

Oh, and Inter have loaned Wallace from Chelsea.

One season for Champions League football and a proper foreign club release clause if they don't make it, I would imagine.

Yeah, he claims it was made up by Arsenal fans. Shame would have been funny.
In Bale news I found this from Marca hilarious.
"Los Blancos' feel that their part of the bargain is done – they have reached an agreement with Bale and offered Tottenham a world record fee of €98 million – and now it is up to Levy to come to his senses."

Should be a good signing.
