I know it sounds silly, but have you reloaded the skin in game? and made sure youve renamed the folder inside simatchviewer_uncompressed to hd and graphics settings to HIGH?

I had this same issue and managed to fix it this morning using what you've troubleshooted so far. I also only use my C drive for my OS. Ive figured it that If you install to another drive than the OS drive, you have to move the simatchviewer_uncompressed...

Just a quick and easy fix for you. You have Virgin Money still for newcastle but you could just copy the wonga from blackpoo...
