On what grounds is Fergie able to fine him?

I started an argument I couldn't win.

Glad they've moved on, now we can focus on underwhelming in Europe.

Good good. I also feel pretty vindicated about my comments about Javier Hernandez as well a couple days ago in this thread, looked far better than Danny Welbeck last night.

You haven't been vindicated in the slightest.

Hernadez is a good player and everyone knows that his all around game is coming on.

But it's not exactly a point of debate that Hernandez is a better goal scorer and Welbeck a better all round player.

Yesterday didn't change that.

When has Danny Welbeck changed the face of a game like that?

I said it was a myth that Welbeck was an all-round better player, and that Hernandez is essentially just a finisher. I think his all-round play last night was excellent, and the myth needs revisiting, especially considering he changed the face of the game. Just to make it clear, I'm also a big fan of Welbeck and want him to continue to be involved as much as he is in the United and England team, I just don't want to see Hernandez cast aside or labelled as this one-dimensional player.

Danny Welbeck looks a very limited and raw player when you see him playing there with Rooney and Van Persie. For many of these attacks, he just seems to be in the way. Much rather Hernandez was playing.

Silly myth. Whenever Hernandez comes on, you can see his link-up play is much improved, and his finishing is excellent. Welbeck's a better dribbler, which is why Fergie likes to stick him out wide and given him the Walcott education.

The reality is that if either Welbeck or Hernandez are going to play regularly they are going to be played on the wing. Hernandez can't play there, Welbeck can.

I really think Joe Hart was the difference between us last season, kept you in so many games and if De Gea can do the same for us then it's all gravy, or something.

I think he's just using Lindegaard to keep him on his toes, Sunday's performance should keep him in goal though.
