Why are you all reading The Sun?

I mean, I'm not saying it's definitely not true, but as far as I can see that's where the rumour's come from. Hardly reliable.

He is the manager and he can argue that the club is being brought into disrepute.

Which is total shit and the fact Ferguson doesn't support his player over a personal issue is really quite embarrassing. He was happy to let Giggs shield under his wing, but Ferdinand's family has been through the shit recently and he feels like he has to make a point.

I'm not saying it's a great point, but the difference of understanding between McDermott and Ferguson is bad. If Ferguson had just supported Ferdinand no one would give a shit. Now it's got the next week of back pages fully sorted.

Good good. I also feel pretty vindicated about my comments about Javier Hernandez as well a couple days ago in this thread, looked far better than Danny Welbeck last night.

You haven't been vindicated in the slightest.

Hernadez is a good player and everyone knows that his all around game is coming on.

But it's not exactly a point of debate that Hernandez is a better goal scorer and Welbeck a better all round player.

Yesterday didn't change that.

When has Danny Welbeck changed the face of a game like that?

If that was the point you were making the other day then you'd have a point now. But it wasn't, so you don't.

I said it was a myth that Welbeck was an all-round better player, and that Hernandez is essentially just a finisher. I think his all-round play last night was excellent, and the myth needs revisiting, especially considering he changed the face of the game. Just to make it clear, I'm also a big fan of Welbeck and want him to continue to be involved as much as he is in the United and England team, I just don't want to see Hernandez cast aside or labelled as this one-dimensional player.

Danny Welbeck looks a very limited and raw player when you see him playing there with Rooney and Van Persie. For many of these attacks, he just seems to be in the way. Much rather Hernandez was playing.

By Jaygull | Permalink | On 20 October 2012 - 15:52 PM
Silly myth. Whenever Hernandez comes on, you can see his link-up play is much improved, and his finishing is excellent. Welbeck's a better dribbler, which is why Fergie likes to stick him out wide and given him the Walcott education.

It's not a myth, you only have to watch the two to see that although Hernandez has improved his game his link up play is not as good as Welbecks.

The fact Hernandez changed the game was a fact of the clinicality of his finishing, which has nothing to do with what you were saying before.

Yeah apparently he's been like a training like a madman desperate to get his place back and really working on his all round play. I thought it was one of his best performances for us last night, he was brilliant.

I think we play better with Welbeck in the team though, but I'm just glad we've got both to choose from, nice options to have.

The reality is that if either Welbeck or Hernandez are going to play regularly they are going to be played on the wing. Hernandez can't play there, Welbeck can.

What didn't it help? Sounds to me like he had an injury going into the game and was played anyway. This could go a long way to explaining why we struggle so badly with injuries.

Manchester United have bought back the sponsorship rights to their training kit.

When United announced they ahead done a deal with DHL in 2010 worth £40million over four years, most experts were astonished at the sum as it exceeded all the actual kits deals of all their Premier League rivals outside of the elites group of present and past Champions League qualifiers.

Since then though, United have done the eye-boggling £559m shirt deal with General Motors, who are paying a world record sum to replace AON as shirt sponsors in 2014.

And the Glazer family have taken the unusual step of buying out DHL, so certain are they of gaining even greater revenue.

'We have successfully negotiated an early buy-out of our training kit agreement with DHL effective 30 June 2013,' the club confirmed this evening.

'DHL will then continue as our global logistics sponsor.

'The significantly increased value of agreements concluded since entering into this agreement, such as our recent £559m world record shirt sponsorship with General Motors, leads us to believe that there should be strategic opportunities to further optimize the value of these rights.'
From Daily Mail.

Money grabbing cunts the Glazers are.

Tbh, I love his saves using his feet. He usually gets crazy distance on them, like that one against Chelsea where he sticks his foot out and it goes out for a throw about half way in our half whereas if he goes with his hands it's a corner.

He's so obviously our best goalkeeper that it is almost pathetic to see that Fergie remains undecided. Presumably Lindegaard is blowing Phelan, or has witnessed Rob Swire partake in a murder orgy in order to get in between the posts every other weekend.

The difference between them is that one game De Gea will give you a 9/10, but the next he will give you a 5/10.

Lindegaard will generally always give you a 7/10. Sometimes you need that.

De Gea is so much better as a shot-stopper. The amount of games he's kept you in/kept respectable this season, it's ridiculous that he keeps getting dropped.

I really think Joe Hart was the difference between us last season, kept you in so many games and if De Gea can do the same for us then it's all gravy, or something.

I think he's just using Lindegaard to keep him on his toes, Sunday's performance should keep him in goal though.

I honestly don't think there's a great deal of difference between the two, both are excellent shot stoppers (although for my money De Gea is slightly better) and both are guilty of the odd mistake (Hart makes fewer, but he's no where near as error free as some in the media would claim).

When De Gea gets a consistent, United standard defence in front of him his confidence will sky rocket imo.
