Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

It says that there should be 134 719 faces. But when I have downloaded all it´s 131 536..

WHY?

BECAUSE.

Please don't post in caps, it's considered as shouting, and therefore as rude.

What download method did you use?

Did you download any update packs from the 5.0 series? If you downloaded from 5.01 up to 5.10, then you just need 6.0 and 6.01 to be fully up-to-date.

If you just downloaded 5.0 and then never download any update packs, you have two options:
a) Download the whole 6.01 megapack (which is over 6GB), or;
b) Download the individual update packs 5.01 to 5.10, and 6.0 and 6.01 - and you'll be fully up-to-date that way.

I too have just over 131,000 images in my megapack..........I'm sure I haven't missed anything but I'm 3000 images shorts somewhere along the line. However it' not images that I'm noticing I'm missing ie - from the big leagues so could be a bunch of Asian faces I guess..... I'm not that fussed tbh, certainly not enough to redownload 6GB lol

1 problem I have encountered however is my game still seems to be pulling faces from the built in SI pack...noticed it when I replaced a Sheff Weds player Cameron Dawson with a cleaned up cut out (player ID 29090574). Anyway I checked in game & the image still seemed to be the previous cut so I replaced with a renamed pic of Lukaku and still getting the SI cut. Any ideas?

Make sure that the preferences are in the way displayed in the OP, otherwise the game may pick up the default images in some instances instead of the ones in the megapack.

Nope, figured it out. Seems this lad isn't in the Megapack hence the reason it was pulling from the original SI cut out .fmf file. Found that out after extracting the graphics.fmf file, deleting the player pic folder and resubmitting the edited .fmf file.

Hey guys,

I am having a problem with my cut-out images. I have downloaded the 6.0 and now 6.01 megapacks, but before I downloaded the 6.01, the 6.0 megapack that I was using was fine. All the images worked. Then, I was even updating some of the images with those in some of the threads posted here. Once again, everything was good. For some reason though, now whenever I try to replace an image or 'update' - like using the 6.01 pack, it won't work. I do the exact same things before, but it won't work. I even tried deleting the pic of one player and then reloading the skin, but it was still there.

Why is this happening? Does this have anything to do with Steam Workshop? Can anyone help?

Thanks.

If you've been using Steam Workshop it's been creating duplicates of you megapack images. I'd suggest avoiding the Workshop at all costs (if and when you do want to use it, remove your entire graphics folder first).

The other thing, I suspect, you're having a problem with is the cache. It's no longer (always) enough to just reload the skin and unticking the cache box. You'll find a new button just above these settings that reads "Clear Cache". Click this one, then reload skin with cache unticked. After this, you need to RESTART your game. Now they should appear, and you can go back into preferences and return the setting to normal.

Your help is always appreciated!

I have FM 2013 too, and used the 6.0 megapack for it too, but those images are in the FM13 file path. Could that be part of the problem?

How many images do you have in the megapack folder?

My problem is that I cannot update my player images. I've downloaded 6.01 and placed it in the same folder as above, over-writing the older images, but when I load the game, set the preferences, even clear cache, etc. They don't show up.

I've even deleted the entire 'faces' folder in my FM drive, but when I load a new game and adjust the preferences again, they still show up (as the old ones, not updated). I'd like to know how this can be fixed so that I can continue updating the faces in the game, like I was doing just 2 days ago.

I'm mystified.

Try ticking use caching to decrease page loading time from the preferences, then quitting the game and shutting off Steam. Then load it all up again and untick it again.

Nope. Doesn't work. Must be something related to the memory, or I don't know. I mean, I'm currently operating without a 'faces' folder and yet the player faces are still appearing. It's very strange. It's better than nothing, but before I was able to update the faces while now I cannot.

So you're saying that Rooney's face, specifically, is displaying, even now that you have no faces folder?

As long as it's within the graphics folder and not within the megapack folder itself, anywhere will do.

As long as the amount of files is correct, then you should have nothing to worry about.

Yes, Rooney's face, and even some of those faces that I downloaded (individually) to update the old faces.

All the faces from the 6.0 pack appear but none from the 6.01 will appear, even when I over-wrote the files. It's very strange. I'm thinking about uninstalling the game and then re-installing it, but I want to make sure I can do that, and not have to worry about paying again. (Perhaps a stupid question)

Did you used steam workshop? If yes they it probably copied you faces to steam workshop folder in \my documents\sports interactive\football manager 2014
