They did, and still could well be, but when you take out a player who was directly responsible for half of your goals then you're going to suffer. They've got a good squad but it's still not as good as Chelsea's, City's or Arsenal's. At this point I'd fancy Liverpool to finish above them, and I really hope that's what happens.

You've just compared Ferguson to Benitez.
Have a think about that.
They've basically replaced their entire front 6. I think it's a miracle they're picking up points as regularly as they have been and they just all, obviously, need time to gel.
Also Townsend is not Bale and has no where near as good a shot on him, I think he's had the most shots in the league and scored once. They need him sticking wide and getting the ball in the box, not cutting in and shooting 10,000 miles over the bar.
